  • What is Advantage of Never Fail Tandem Axle Suspension Upgrade Hardware Kit Over Other Options
The Never Fail upgrade kits like the # LC281285 have two really distinct advantages. One of them is what you mentioned and is that they don't require greasing or any maintenance. The other is that they last about twice as long as any other heavy duty style of bushing kit. You'll get easily twice the mileage from this kit over anything else.

  • What is Difference Between Dexter Cushioned Equalizers K71-653-00 and K71-653-06
Hey Mark, the part # K71-653-00 is just the cushioned equalizers whereas the part K71-653-06 is a kit that includes the cushioned equalizers as well as heavy duty shackles and bushings.

  • Locating Replacement Leaf Springs for Dexter D44 Tandem Axles and Recommended Upgrades
In order to find the right replacement leaf springs, you will need to raise the trailer up and take some measurements on one of the existing springs. This type of information isn't typically provided by trailer manufacturers and it's not something that can be determined by the axle capacity (many different leaf spring lengths could be used with 4,400 pound tandem axles). With all the weight lifted off the leaf springs, you will just need to measure their length (from the center of one...

  • New Leaf Springs & Equalizer Upgrade on Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS Travel Trailer
So starting with the question about weight, since you have 5,200 lb axles, go with the 5,300 lb leaf springs, or even 6,000 lb leaf springs would be okay, but I do not recommend going with springs rated less than the axle capacity. The number of springs doesn't come into play, the capacity is what really matters. As for fit, we don't have a way of knowing what leaf springs are on any trailer - the same goes for the equalizer - so you'll need to do some measuring. Leaf springs do flatten...

  • Should There Be Play Between the Leaf Spring Eye Bushing and Shackle Bolt on a Trailer
If there is a tiny bit of play in suspension components that are designed to move you would be fine. 1/16 of an inch isn't very much, and as long as you torqued everything down to spec you would be good to go. Ideally we just don't want it torqued down so much that the suspension can't move. The bolts should be snug, but not so snug that the suspension binds up. If your shackle bolt were tight enough to prevent movement in the setup they eventually would wear themselves down to the point...

  • Replacement Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers for Dexter Equalizer Part 13-122
The Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers part # LC279688 would indeed be the best fit replacement for the Dexter Equalizers part 13-122 you have now. However, as you mentioned the vertical bolt spacing will be about 2" taller which does indeed mean that the trailer will be raised but not necessarily the full 2". If you are looking for a cushioned equalizer upgrade that would not raise the trailer I recommend taking a look at the E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System by Dexter Axle part...

  • Hello Sir I have a 2004 Continental A2150-5000 wi
Hey Keith thanks for all the information! The best suspension kit for your 2004 Continental A2150-5000 trailer is going to be the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit item # K71-653-00. This kit has upgraded equalizers with rubber cores that absorb road shock, which give you a smoother ride. The shackle straps are slightly shorter at 3/8" which will not affect your suspension. They have wet bolts with built-in grease zerks that makes maintenance extremely easy. I have linked an installation...

  • What Info Is Needed to Upgrade Trailer Axle Capacity
Hey Kent, in order to pick out a replacement axle we would need to know the distance from hub face to hub face as well as distance from spring seat center to spring seat center. We don't have every axle configuration though so you might have to order one in from a local trailer shop to you.

  • Cushioned Equalizer that Can Fit 2024 Alliance Delta 281BH
Hey Thomas, I have a great solution for you but the Road Armor you referenced would be too small to fit your 2024 Alliance Delta 281BH. Instead we have the Dexter EZ Flex part # K71-653-00 which basically matches your dimensions exactly. Is your ride quality pretty rough currently?

  • What Info is Needed to Order Replacement Axles
Hey Rauan, we don't have a way to look up the specs on your axles but all of that info is on the axle tag. What you need to find is the hub face to hub face dimension which might be abbreviated as HF and spring seat center to center dimension which probably is abbreviated as SC. With that info you'd be able to order a higher capacity axle. We don't have any 8k or 9k axles though so you would need to find a trailer shop local to you who has ability to order in axles.

  • How to Choose Correct Road Armor Equalizer Kit for 2021 Grand Design Travel Trailer
To chose the correct Road Armor kit you'll need to measure the distance between the centers of the lower bolt holes that attach to the shackles as well as the drop from the center of the top bolt hole to the centerline of the two lower bolt holes. For example, the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740 measures 6" across on center and 3-1/2" down from the top bolt position. This kit is also designed to work with 3,500 lbs - 8,000 lbs axles. As long as these specs match what...

  • Dexter EZ Flex Equalizers for 6,000 Pound Axles on a 2006 Heartland Bighorn 5th Wheel
The length is good on the EZ Flex system # K71-653-00 but the height may be different depending on where you are measuring that 4-3/4 inches. On the EZ Flex the distance from the center of the mounting hole to the center line between the 2 bottom holes, straight up and down, is 2-7/8 inches. If your 4-3/4 inch measurement is diagonal then you will be good to go with this kit. For a u-bolt kit you can use # APUBR-9. The shocks might actually feel more effective with the EZ Flex kit installed....

According to the fit specifications, the E-Z Flex # K71-652-00 are to fit tandem axles with 33 inches of axle spacing. You can also measure your current equalizers to make sure # K71-652-00 will be the correct replacement for your trailer's suspension. The attached picture shows the what dimensions of your current equalizer would have to be to be replaced by either # K71-652-00 or # K71-653-00 E-Z Flex equalizer.

  • What is the Length of Shackles Included with Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit
Hey Frank, thanks for reaching out! The shackle straps that come with the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00 measure 2-1/4" center to center for the bolt holes - this is the same for the regular kit as well as the kit we currently have listed at a lower price (which we do from time to time). A 1/4" difference between the shackles will be just fine so you can definitely use this kit. When it comes to the trimming with the installation of the MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension...

  • Can Dexter EZ Flex Kit Replace Equalizers with Longer Shackles

  • Correct Orientation of Wet Bolts for Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit
Hey Frank, thanks for reaching out! What Dexter Axle means by this is that you want the grease zerk fitting from the wet bolts in the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00 to face the outside of the trailer, rather than under the trailer. I see why it's a bit confusing, but if you check out the clipped photo I grabbed from the instructions you'll see what I mean. Were you planning on doing this installation on your own, or have a shop do it?

  • Recommended Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer for 2004 NUWA Hitchhiker II LS to Widen Axle Hanger Spacing
I recommend using the E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System by Dexter Axle - 5-5/8" Equalizers # K71-652-00 which is compatible with axle spacing of 33 inches on center. It is okay to move your outside hangers to give you more space but there are standard spaces that work well for tandem axle trailers that you will want to stick to. If you want 35 inch axle spacing, then you will move the hangers and use kit # K71-653-00 which has wider equalizers to make up for the larger spacing....

Hey Gene, for the Dexter equalizer you have now 13-122 the correct cushioned equalizer upgrade you'd want is the EZ Flex part # K71-653-00. This kit also comes with upgraded shackles and wet bolts that have built in grease fittings so basically it comes with everything you'd need. Which camper do you have? Does it ride rough currently?

The best option is the one that matches your current equalizer dimensions so I recommend the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00.
