Question:

Hello, I want to replace the leaf springs on my camper. Can you help me find the replacements for a 2021 GD 21BHE. I also want to upgrade the links between the springs and install wet bolts while I’m at it. I have dexter axles 10292092 3K LBS.

Hi Sam! For wet bolts and heavy duty shackle straps you can use the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR. This comes with 2-1/4" long shackles which match the length you have now.

Grand Design does a great job listing parts on their site but the leaf spring length isn't something they cover. You will need to measure the length of your existing leaf springs to find the right replacement. You can use either of the methods outlined in the attached picture to measure and then match the length up with the 3k axle capacity.

Where are you headed once you upgrade the suspension on your Imagine? If you add the leaf spring measurements in the comments below I would be happy to see what is available for a replacement.

Below is what Grand Design told me for what I have. Also, I was thinking about using the E-Z Flex Equalizers instead of the MORyde. “DescriptionAXLE SPRING ONLY F/ 3K AXLE DEXTER Vendor Part #072-023-00 Dexter Axle”

@SamH then for the leaf springs you can use # DX83CR which is the same as 072-023-00. I like the E-Z Flex, it is what I have on my trailer. You can get a complete kit with the wet bolts and shackles # K71-653-00 or just the equalizers # K71-655-00.

@SamH the equalizer size for your Imagine is what determines the correct kit. Grand Design lists the stock equalizer as the Dexter 13-122 which is 7-3/4" long so you want to match that length with the Dexter E-Z Flex # K71-653-00. The other kit has 5-3/4" equalizers so they're too short and will throw off your suspension geometry.
