Lets Go Aero Trailer Hitch Lock - 63232

  • Fits 2 Inch Hitch
  • Universal Anti-Rattle Lock
  • Lets Go Aero
  • Keyed Unique
  • 2-5/8 Inch Span
  • Spring-Loaded Pin

This anti-rattle hitch pin dramatically reduces any movement or vibration of your ball mount in your hitch. Included lock ensures security for your hitch accessory. Designed for use on hollow-shank ball mounts and accessories. 5/8" Pin diameter.

Features:

  • Trailer hitch receiver lock is used in place of standard pin and clip to prevent theft of ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory
    • Secure your bike rack, cargo carrier, hitch cover, and more to your trailer hitch
  • Anti-rattle pin reduces play and vibration in the hitch connection
    • Place block with spring inside shank of ball mount or hitch accessory
    • Slide ball mount or accessory into hitch receiver
    • Insert pin through hitch pin hole and anti-rattle block with spring
    • Twist pin with wrench (sold separately) so ball mount or accessory is pulled tight against side of hitch receiver wall
  • 90 Degree, barrel-style lock comes with 2 round, rubber-coated keys
    • Weather-resistant rubber dust cap keeps cylinder free of debris
  • Zinc finish is corrosion resistant
  • Sturdy steel construction

Specs:

  • Application: 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers
    • Ball mount or hitch accessory must have a hollow shank
  • Pin diameter: 5/8"
  • Inside pin length (span): 2-5/8"
  • Overall length: 5-1/2"
  • 30-Day warranty

Notes:

  • This lock is not rated for use for flat towing.
  • This lock will not work with some factory 2" trailer hitches that have an outside width wider than 2-5/8". If a longer pin length is needed, see hitch lock SHP2040-XL
  • This device can only be used with hollow-shank ball mounts and hitch accessories.

The Silent Hitch Pin from Let's Go Aero takes the rattle and play out of the connection between your trailer hitch and your ball mount or hitch accessory. The unique design features a sturdy steel block with an attached spring that sits inside the shank of your hitch-mounted accessory.

Silent Hitch Pin DiagramSilent Hitch Pin Close Up

Place the block inside your ball mount or hitch accessory, and line up the hole in the block with the pin hole in your ball mount. Slide your ball mount into your hitch and insert the hitch pin. To activate the anti-rattle device, just twist the pin with a wrench (sold separately) to tighten it down. Doing this will pull the accessory up against the wall of your hitch receiver, thus keeping the accessory from moving around inside your hitch. No more annoying clanking or vibrating.

The 90 degree, barrel-style lock goes on the end of the anti-rattle pin to provide security for your hitch-mounted accessories. Two round, rubber-coated keys are included with the lock. A sturdy rubber dust cap comes attached to the barrel lock so that you can easily cover the lock cylinder, thus ensuring that no dirt or grime will get in to damage the lock.

This product was hard to fit into my curt hitch/curt carrier. However, once it was in, it worked like a charm. It fits so tight that it really wouldn't matter if it was a locking hitch or not. (poor attempt at a joke) I didn't have any rattling or fear that my carrier was going to be stolen. If anything, just having it gave me a peace of mind. It was incredibly easy to install. Just slip the part with the spring into whatever your mounting, slide it into the hitch, and slip the remaining parts in, screw, lock, done. Simple. The not-so-simple was attempting to put the remaining parts in with how tight a fit it was, had to loosen it a bit, then place them in. Not a big deal, and certainly not a reason to not purchase it. 218874

I dont have anything further to add for the products yet. However, we have a cross-country trip planned later this year that will put all the products we purchased from etrailer.com to the test. I will try and provide a review for you after the trip.

There wasn’t enough room on my Curt hitch to use this quite pin to secure my RoadMaster spare tire carrier. I used the bolt pin that came with the carrier and will install a separate lock on it. However this silent pin will do nicely on the cargo carrier I will install on the RoadMaster spare tire carrier hitch. 718274

The product accomplished exactly what I wished it would: it securely locks the adapter to the hitch, while reducing the sway. I used this product to secure and to lock a 1.25" Thule 4-bike rack and adapter to a 2 inch hitch. [there is no 1.25" hitch for my vehicle, so I had to get a 2" hitch and adapter]. The etrailer representatives were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me to purchase the exact product to serve my needs. Great service, fast delivery, low prices, quality products. This company is top notch all around. 437698

etrailer.com shipping sucks. Every single package that I have received from etrailer.com has arrived at my house with boxes stuffed inside more boxes that do not fit properly and cause the boxes to get smooshed together. It's a miracle that the product inside the boxes were not damaged. Boxes arrive at the house with parts of the cardboard missing or peeled off or flaps ripped open or looking like an accordion. As for the product, having survived its perilous journey, it works as designed. Stops vibration, thus stopping noise. I should probably sound more thrilled, but I have never had a hitch accessory rattle on me thus I don't have a before and after comparison. I was fortunate to have found this item before installing any hitch accessories on my vehicle. Final verdict...you won't be disappointed. The wrench that comes with it is worthless. Don't bother with the included wrench. Install it using a ratchet with appropriate socket. Keep the wrench in the vehicle for emergencies. Buy it and enjoy! 170430

Installed the nut and finger treaded the bolt into the assembly and nut. Once finger tight used the wench to tighten it all up. Upon removal I was unable to loosen the bolt with the wench. Working the bolt with a socket wrench I was able to get the bolt out but treads on both the bolt and the nut are damaged. I'm amazed that this big bolt and nut could be stripped so easily. 177408

I'm using this to lock my bike rack to my reese hitch. This is a great locking device, very secure. I use a ratchet & socket to tighten it so there is NO Rattle or sway of the bike rack. The metal is corrosion free so far. I take it off for the winter when the salt is starting to hit the roads. It comes with 2 keys and has a nice rubber keyhole cover. I just purchased another one for my sister. I think it's worth every penny. eTrailer is very easy to order from and has great communication and customer service. 200647

Works great, sometime it gets jammed up during alignment and I am never quite sure how tight to screw the thing in. I prefer to use a socket wrench over the included one. Make sure to remember the order of assembling the components. The product image on the far left is actually broken down into 3 separate sub-components. 1) shaft 2) block 3) end lock cap. The block sits in the channel of whatever is being plugged into the hitch. When you insert the shaft through the holes it must be done so from the opposite side you place the block. In effect you point the spring toward the lock cap. I don't hear a rattle as we drive unless we are rolling over rough terrain, then again I drive a minivan so I don't seek out rough terrain to test noise levels. :) I would like to give a 6th star to the service rep who put me in contact with the manufacturer. I (or someone in my party) lost a key on a trip so I wanted to get another one without purchasing a new set. (FYI the replacement keys are only slightly less expensive than the unit, so be careful not to lose one) That was an above and beyond customer scenario and I appreciated the quick support!!! 399725

I ordered for all the right reasons. Quality, ease of ordering, etrailer presence on social media, free shipping, expedient receipt of products. In “my” haste, one of the features of my B&W trailer hitch does not work on my vehicle. My Chevy Suburban has a rear valance that wii not allow me to rotate the ball hitch underneath the vehicle. I’m very impressed with the Areo silent hitch pin. 620129

UPDATE : Originally posted that it was to short and could not get the lock on . I called and Ricky advised to remove the split washer to see if that would allow the lock to fit . When I tried to remove the pin , the threads must have stripped and the pin would not move . After splitting a 5/8 socket and cracking a 16 inch cheater socket bar , the shaft broke in the nut ( which is inside the receiver ) . It is spring loaded , so my wife pushed on the nut & spring from one side , protruding the shaft out the other side and I was able to cut through the shaft . This took more than 2 hours to accomplish . Unable to get in contact with Ricky again , I called the general customer service # , advised them of all of this and they are sending me return label . Upon ordering this item , I called and ask about some reviewers who had had similar problems = They advised the company had changed from coarse threads to fine threads and it was no longer a problem . They advised they were sorry this happened , but now I also need to replace a 5/8 socket and 16 inch socket bar... I do not recommend this locking anti tilt hitch pin 210038

Just wanted to do a follow up with you in regards with an anti rattle pin I had purchased from you before the holidays. Not sure if you need my order number or not to prove it but just wanted to give some feed back. I'm happy I purchased it so I wouldn't hear any rattling. It did take more torque than what's mentioned in the instructions. I did make sure though it wasn't to much so it wouldn't break or be ruined. I should have done more research with pricing but already did research on what kind and who to use when buying so I assumed etrailer was the place to shop & buy. I did very much glad I was able to talk with you, help me out and figure out what I was looking for. Giving me a my options, not pressuring me, being so helpful making it easy to purchase and delivery. When I had no idea what I was getting into you did make it extremely comfortable, personable and customer friendly helping me out every step of the way. 466038

I selected the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier (#C18153) to assist with moving students in/out of college dorms. The carrier was very easy to assemble and attach to the vehicle. I chose the anti-rattle trailer hitch receiver lock (#63232) to ensure noise was minimized when on the road - works great! I also added a cargo carrier LED light kit with mounting brackets (#98174LED, #BK70BB) and a Hopkins heavy-duty 7-way to 4-wire coiled adapter (#HM47065). As others have commented, the light kit wiring harness is not long enough to reach the vehicle plug. The coiled adapter provided a great solution. Using the eTrailer web site has taken the mystery out of finding cargo moving solutions. 372290

Great product. I had ordered the 2"x2" Class III Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver for my 2018 Mazda CX-5 from eTrailer, item # 76138, which installed perfectly thanks t the excellent installation video on eTrailer's web site, but only to to find out that my bike rack is designed for a 1-1/4"x1-1/4" hitch receiver. I then ordered the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches from eTrailer, item # 63232, plus the Hitch Adapter 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver - 7" Long from eTrailer.com, item # 80300, after consulting with an eTrailer customer representative, who BTW was very helpful. The installation of the lock and adapter was a breeze, thanks again to the excellent video on eTrailer's web site, and the whole assembly is extremely sturdy with all rattling sounds eliminated. I would say that the products so far have been every penny worth. 496002

I installed the anti-rattle tow hitch pin as soon as I got it. It really locks the Swagman bicycle carrier in place so there is no side-to-side movement. I have not yet driven with it for any distance to see if the pin loosens up due to road vibration, but I expect that it will not. 131245

I bought this to lock up a hitch extension to a hitch extension that I didn't want to be stolen. Many thanks to eTrailer for helping me out on this. I had originally ordered a hitch lock that was not compatible with my setup. Customer Service emailed me before shipping the order, and I was able to change the order before buying the wrong item. The lock comes with two keys, and the anti-rattle mechanism works well. After installation, there is NO side to side movement between the extension and the hitch. I did notice a slight amount of up and down movement, but I installed a quiet hitch in conjunction with this item, which eliminated all movement entirely. It's a solid device for the money. I did not give it top marks, because of the slight up and down movement. Don't let that stop you, though. I'm just really picky. 10533

This device works great and it arrived even sooner than I had expected. Had no problems installing it. Just took a few seconds. Really stops rattling and stabilizes anything I put into the 2" receiver on my vehicle - boat trailer, bike rack, etc. 561152

I purchased this for use on my 2017 VW Alltrack with an Ecohitch 2 in receiver. I have a Thule T2 Classic bike rack with a 1-1/4 inch shank and didn't want to purchase the replacement shank. I instead purchased # HT02 to allow the receiver to accept the smaller 1-1/4 and # 63232 to stabilize the rack and stop the rattle. The combination is perfect. # 63232 acts as both an anti-rattle device, as well as a hitch lock. Installation took 5 minutes and was super straightforward. Because the pin is threaded, be sure to use a torque wrench to not accidentally over-torque the pin and strip the threads or just tighten until the rattle stops. 435250

A year in and the the Lets Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock still does its job. The only issue that Ive run into is that I am unable to remove it from my hitch. The tubular metal sleeve that fits around the lock pin seems to have rusted itself locked. I havent been able to remove it and cannot remove my hitch rack as a result.
Ryan F - 09/23/2018

If your hitch is open at the back using some WD-40 and spraying down the hitch lock and anti-rattle device as best as you can, and let it sit and try again to remove the pin. You may need to use a hammer and persuade the pin, but try not to damage the bolt head portion. If the hammer does not work you might try using an impact wrench and a socket, or a socket and a cheater bar to try to get the treads to spin free. Worst case scenario you may need to use a cut off wheel and cut down the hitch pin and then using a drill bit drill out either side to see and try to remove the stinger. Just make sure that you do not use a drill bit larger than a 5/8 inch (diameter of your hitch pin) or any kind of torch that would damage your hitch.

This ant-rattle receiver lock is one of those rare products these days that "does exactly what it says on the tin" ! It made my hitch carrier a snug fit on the receiver. Without it., there was some play and rock in the carrier ( which makes sense, it has to be a little bit loose in the receiver or you'd never get it in ! ) It was very easy to set up this hitch pin and it does a find job, well worth the money. The little wrench they give with it is a bit of a joke, I used a bigger one I had to hand to tighten it up. 293657

Comments
The anti-rattle receiver lock was excellent for the first number of uses, but it is not working so well any more. It just seems to have gotten difficult to use. The spring that goes inside the carrier stem has gotten deformed and doesnt keep the nut that goes inside the stem in place anymore. So it tends to slide around when the carrier is out of the receiver and then it is fiddly to get it back in place. Also, I cant seem to get the lock to tighten up properly so that there is no play in the carrier. Originally, it would tighten up really well and there was no play at all, now it doesnt tighten like it used to, theres always some rattle in the carrier, not much, but its not perfect.I was thinking Ill just have to get another one, because it did work so well initially.

For use while towing with your popup camper, the best option would be to use the Anti-Rattle Device for a 2 inch hitch # 63232, which you reference. This device will eliminate any additional rattling by pulling the ball mount portion of the hitch to one side. It also provides a secure locking mechanism for your hitch. Please keep in mind that this locking device can only be used on hollow hitch devices, it is also advised to remove this locking mechanism when the ball mount and hitch...

We have exactly what you would need to take the rattle out of your hitch and ball mount. The Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 would be exactly what you need to take out the movement you described. This also doubles as a hitch lock to act as a theft deterrent for your ball mount. Check out the review video I attached for more info.

  • Does Lets Go Aero Hitch Pin Lock part # 63232 Have Weight Capacity
HItch pins like the Lets Go Aero hitch pin lock part # 63232 that you referenced do not have towing capacities as they do not typically ever carry the full weight of the trailer. As long as you aren't exceeding the capacity of the hitch you are using this lock with you'll be fine.

  • Second Anti-Rattle Device 63232 Recommendation for Use with Ball Mount
We do not sell just the internal block of the anti-rattle device part # 63232 that you referenced so your best option would be to get a second one of these for use with your trailer ball that way you wouldn't have to mess with setting up the device in either accessory.

  • Can Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 be Used When Towing
Yes, the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 can be used on a ball mount that is being used to tow a travel trailer as long as the shank of the ball mount is hollow. It will make the towing setup a bit quieter and also locks the ball mount to the tow vehicle as well. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Hitch Pin Lock and Anti-Rattle for 2 Inch Hitch Extender on Jeep Wrangler
The Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # 63232 is the correct anti-rattle locking hitch pin for your Jeep Wrangler's trailer hitch receiver to use with the Brophy Hitch extender # HE06. Note that when using a hitch extender the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch receiver is reduced by 50%. This normally isn't an issue with bike carriers, but with certain ones, it is still important to note so you are within your limits for safety and function.

The Let's Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 that you referenced is not compatible with any of the Thule bike racks. The threads for the Thule bike racks are specific and only the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 will fit.

  • Need 2-Inch Hitch Extender With Hollow Shank for Use with # 63232 Anti-Rattle Receiver Lock
We do offer several 2-inch hitch extenders that have a hollow shank to allow use of an anti-rattle hitch lock such as the Lets Go Aero # 63232. These are available in various lengths. Do please note that whenever any extender is used it will reduce your hitch capacity by 50 percent. For example, we offer the Brophy 7-Inch Extender for 2-inch hitch receivers, part # HE06. We also offer an 18-inch extender from Hidden Hitch, part # HE18. If you need a dual receiver extension we offer...

  • Anti-Rattle Device Recommendation for 2016 Ford F-150 Towing Boat Trailer

  • How to Reduce Excessive Trailer Noise (Banging/Rattling)
It sounds to me like the hinge pin on your trailer's tailgate is worn and is causing excessive movement which will result in a noisy ride. In order to secure the tailgate to the trailer while driving down the road I recommend using a set of ratchet straps like the Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps part # EM34415. In order to reduce movement and rattling from the ball mount inside the receiver tube you will want to use an anti-rattle hitch pin such as the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch...

  • Recommended Anti-Rattle Device for 2 inch Hitch-Mounted Cargo Rack on 2017 Subaru Forester
There are a few different types of anti-rattle devices that differ in how they actually work to reduce the movement of a hitch accessory like your Cargo Rack. I recommend using a threaded pin device, as this will do the best job at cutting down on movement while also replacing the standard hitch pin with one that can be locked, thus is able to deter theft of any accessory you have mounted. The Let's Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 is a great option that will dramatically...

I pulled the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, part # 63232 from our warehouse and attempted to use it with the Pro Series Q-Slot Platform-Style Bike Carrier, part # PS63138. The threads match up but the threaded portion of the 63232 is not long enough to be able to lock the pin in place. Pro Series does not offer replacement anti-rattle bolts or locking hitch bolts for their bike racks. You can use the Softride Replacement Anti-Rattle Hitch Bolt part # SR19696 for the 1-1/4...

  • What is the Anti-Rattle Device and Lock, # 63232 Made of and What is the Capacity
The Anti-Rattle Device and Lock, # 63232, is made of chrome plated steel. It does not have an official capacity because it has a higher breaking point than a hitch or ball mount that would be used with it. I have included a link to a video showing how the lock works.

  • Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin for Use with Brophy 1-5/8 to 2 Inch Hitch Adapter
The locking anti-rattle hitch pin I recommend for your 1-5/8 inch hitch and the Brophy adapter # HT58 is the SilentACT # SHP2082. This device has a block that is small enough to fit into the hollow shank of the adapter and because the cam lever will pull the adapter shank tight to the receiver the pin doesn't have to be 5/8 inches in diameter. That is why it can be used for 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 inch hitches.
