Features to know about

Steady, Controlled Towing: 7,000-lb High-Strength Steel Axle Handles the Load

When your trailer starts to wander or bounce, it’s often the axle that’s letting you down. This Dexter axle beam brings stability back with a 7,000-lb weight capacity and a 3" outer-diameter steel tube. The axle is built with a slight bend that creates the right camber angle, keeping the tires flat on the pavement for even tread wear and solid, straight-line tracking. It’s a reliable foundation for smooth, predictable towing under heavy loads.

Simple Upkeep That Lasts: E-Z Lube Spindles Keep Bearings Fresh

Keeping bearings greased doesn’t have to mean taking everything apart. The straight E-Z Lube spindles feature built-in grease zerks, so you can push clean grease through to both the inner and outer bearings (25580 inner, 14125A outer) without the mess. A few pumps from a grease gun forces out old grease and leaves a full, fresh layer of protection, cutting down maintenance time and extending bearing life.

Built for Real-World Use: Underslung Design for Easy Loading

If you’re hauling equipment or gear that’s heavy to lift, a lower bed height makes a difference. The underslung design—spring seats welded to the underside of the axle—lets the leaf springs (sold separately) mount below the tube, giving the trailer a lower deck for easier loading and unloading. The geometry also helps the trailer stay stable and well-balanced on the road.

Made to Fit Right: 95" Hub Face and 80" Spring Center Measurements

Getting a replacement axle right comes down to fit, and this one lands solidly in the sweet spot with a 95" hub-face-to-hub-face length and 80" spring-center-to-spring-center spacing. The 5-bolt brake flange is welded on and ready for 7,000-lb compatible hubs and brakes (sold separately). It’s a straightforward, weld-on setup that makes it easy to restore or build a suspension that tracks true and tows straight.

Long Service Life: Factory-Welded Details That Stay Aligned

The axle comes with its spring seats, brake flanges, and spindles welded in place for strength and accuracy. Every weld helps maintain correct alignment and geometry, so your suspension works as intended from day one. Paired with Dexter’s limited 5-year warranty, it’s a heavy-duty choice built to stay solid mile after mile.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry! I see our customer service team has reached out to you and make sure we get the correct axle out to you. This one mustve been stored incorrectly in the warehouse by mistake and shipped out as the original part. We do carry Dexter axles and we will get you one sent.

by:

This product so far was easy to install, I really haven't used it just yet I was waiting for the rest of the parts I needed. I am giving a good review on this company because of their customer service. Every time I have order from here their delivery is very fast, and if there are any problems with it they are quick to respond and fix it.

Product is working fine with the project we have going. Fast shipping too

by:

Fast shipping
This is the 4th large
item I’ve purchased, first 3 went without a problem.
This one came just as fast, but the rubber protection was off the ends so there is surface rust and the lock clip was a little damaged, 2 studs for the backing plate were missing, nothing that could not be fixed or replaced. But this was probably the shipper.
Item to large to worry about shipping back.

To be honest I would say that this does happen time to time in shipping. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

Axel took 2 1/2 weeks to receive. When I received it was damaged broken grease fitting missing lock for nut. Missing 1 of 2 axel mount. Great price on axel.

It is certainly disappointing to receive the axle damaged when you have been waiting to receive it. I will have our customer service team reach out to you so we can have this taken care of for you.

PLACED THE ORDER LATER THEN USUAL AND STILL RECEIVED THE AXLE THE NEXT DAY, GOT MY CUSTOMER UP AND GOING A DAY SOONER, WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH E TRAILER AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. THANK YOU.

by:

I'd like to thank odella and Kate for taking such good care of my order.
I first talked to Odella and had to break off the conversation for something else called back and Kate took my call and was able to fulfill the order and take all my information very nice dealing with the company that has their people in the United States and you're not talking to a computer!
Also was really shocked I received the order 2 days early really good work!

by:

The prices were great, delivery on time, quality excellent, ordering &catalog part illustration made easy for do it yourself customers. Special thanks to the order taker very helpful. I. Highly recommend etrailer.com Thanks Fred

by:

Fast shipping great customer support

by:

Great service. Thank you. Missing parts were shipped fast and I was able to get the trailer together and back on the road.

by:

Just installed my axle but have not driven the trailer yet. I will say etrailers had great customer service and had my axle in less than a week.

by:

Dexter axles always perform well.

This
is a replacement for an axle that was bent. Turned very tight in a parking lot, dragging the front axle side ways. The tire dropped in a pot hole and got wedged so hard it bent axle and broke U bolts.

The trailer had 4 years of hard daily use before that. I'm sure the replacement will work well for many years as well, as long as I don't tear it up.

by:

Great product!!!!!!!!!

by:

Great customer service and great delivery times. Even with the current shipping delays parts stock is good. We have been using etrailer.com for years for small trailer parts with no issues at all.

by:

You guys rock…
I think Dexter or your
shipping team would secure the backing plate mounting studs before shipping.
I received my shipment with a few studs missing otherwise I would definitely recommend these replacement axles.

by:

Works as promised. My only complaint is that one of the cages that holds the nut from backing off was lost in shipping, you could see that the axle had been dragged by one end. The spindle was not drilled for a cotter pin and I was in a hurry so ran to the local auto parts store and got a cage rather than even mentioning it.

by:

Shipping time was great! The only problem was the bottom plate hole spacing for the U-Bolts was not wide enough for my springs. I used the old plates and all went together fine.

Great, bolted right up with no problems. Took about 30 minutes!

by:

The axle was what I ordered, showed up in good condition, and fit perfectly.in the years that I’ve been working on and repairing my own equipment from trailers to vehicles, to buildings, I call that a Win!

by:

light rust on axle ends rust on break backing plate studs and studs were nut fully set in housing and did not come with nuts

by:

I ordered 2 axles on Wednesday night. They arrived Saturday afternoon two days early than expected. Thanks so much. I was back on the road in no time.

That’s pretty incredible, David. When you think about it, the etrailer family started this business back in the 1880s. Folks would bring their broken wagons to Joseph so he could help get them back on the road. Fast forward about 146 years, and we’re still doing the same thing, helping people find the parts they need to keep moving. The only difference is the way we do it. Thanks so much for the awesome review. I’m glad everything arrived quicker than you expected. What kind of trailer did you end up installing them on?

by:

I ordered axle and a pk54871pl circuit breaker 5 tru46fr axle caps. The circuit breaker was taped to axle. it was broken into a million pieces. never got the 5 tru46fr caps.

  • Can I Upgrade Trailer Axle From 3,500 lb to 7,000 lb Axle and Keep 14 Wheels
You can add a heavier axle to the trailer but the rest of the components of your trailer may not be rated for a higher weight capacity such as the suspension components and wheels. If you go from a 3,500 lb axle to a 7,000 lb axle like part # 8327834 you are not going to be able to keep your wheels because more than likely the bearings in the hubs that fit your wheels will not fit the spindle of the new axle. • Kaufman Goosenecks Trailer Weight Ratings Questions
You're correct. The reason your axles like # 8327834 can be rated less than your trailer's GVWR is because generally about 15 to 20 percent of a gooseneck trailer's weight is on the truck. This is actually pretty common with trailers although not as much as it used to be. How much weight are your attempting to carry on your Kaufman Trailer? I will be glad to assist your with this process.

Hello Theodore, thanks for reaching out. We do have a video that shows how to replace an axle. I have provided a link for you below. This is for the Dexter 7K axle # 8327834. Basically, you just lift the trailer, undo the U-bolts and the axle comes right off. As long as you have a replacement axle with identical specs, the axle swap out will be very easy.
