Where to Measure to Pick Out Replacement Axle for Trailer

Question:
Hi, I have an old apache pop up trailer 1972? trailer is rated at 1500 lbs and has small tires with the left being a reverse tread and hydraulic brake system. Id like to upgrade to a 200-3500 axle with electric brakes brakes not mandatory Question is how do I go about measuring for a new axle. Also the springs are sleeper springs- Im hoping I dont have to do any welding- any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You would need to measure from the hub face to hub face and then from the spring mount centers to pick out the correct axle to fit your trailer. I attached a picture that shows where these measurements are.
