These steel crossbars form a tough backbone for whatever you want to carry. Each one is 48" long and 1-1/8" in diameter, giving you a solid base for heavy loads—up to 165 lbs total, as long as you stay within your vehicle’s roof limit. The round design works with accessories that clamp around the bars, so it’s ready for cargo boxes, kayak cradles, or other gear that mounts the same way.
Getting caught in the rain or parking under the sun won’t be a problem. The black vinyl coating over the galvanized steel helps resist rust and keeps the bars looking good trip after trip. It’s a simple detail that makes a big difference for people who use their rack year-round or store it outside.
There’s no need for factory rails here. The BaseLine towers and fit kit let you mount directly to a naked roof for a snug, stable setup. Once in place, the rack feels solid and secure, giving you confidence when loading gear up top. For extra protection, Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores can be added separately to help deter theft of the rack.
Because the crossbars have a classic round shape, they work with a wide range of clamp-on carriers and attachments from Yakima and other brands. That means one rack can handle whatever your weekend brings—kayaks, cargo boxes, or camping gear stacked up for the next road trip.

Great UX for finding the options matching my car, and the baseline towers work great. Simple straightforward site, will plan to use them again when needed.
For those also buying crossbars for cars without roof rails, recommend taking a silver sharpie and marking the placement of the crossbars on the weather seal at the top of the door openings. Makes putting them back on way less of a hassle if you don’t want them on 24/7.

As all yakima products not the cheapest but work
The installation was super easy, and despite a long time stuck in shipping the delivery itself was extremely fast, and the package arrived in spotless condition. The manuals were very easy to follow, and the end result is absolutely amazing. They provided a nice, flush finish and hold the racks down tight.
Bought as a pkg for my 2017 Golf R with Round Bars since I had a bunch of Yakima bike racks and a canoe gunwale rack for my old Yakima set up. Installation was easy with good instructions. All measurements from the Yakima site appear to be spot on.

The Yakima roof rack system is an Outstanding product. I purchased the product to replace the OEM roof rack because it was too flimsy to carry the tandem bike mount and my bike. Have been rocking my Yakima rack from etrailer.com for a year now. I am using rack in conjunction with a Tepui tent. Once I added the air deflector, I would say it's the perfect setup. The Yakima gives more clearance over the factory rack, so I was able to get my hands under it to secure the tent hardware. If you're thinking of upgrading your factory rack, I would not hesitate to use etrailer.com
roof racks showed up in great condition, and showed up as one package.... I should have ordered the J racks from here but I found them cheaper locally so Thule J racks compliment the whole setup and i am just about ready to hit the water :)

The installation of this rack system went very well, all of the instructions were easy to read and use. I have attached some pictures of our installation. The vehicle is a 1994 Honda Accord EX four door sedan
I've attachec a few pictures of the Yakima rack on my Audi Q7. It took a few attempts to find the right combination of attachments, but in the end, the pin attachments work best with the access points on the factory flush-mount rails. Great product!!!!!
Solid and easy to instal
Great rack, go on fast, easy to install and work well on my VW TDI wagon. Care has to be given and follow the instructions for the install to what type of rails you have. Works great carrying the VW luggage carrier and plan on using it to carry kayaks as well. Just have not decided what kayak rack type to get yet.
These convertors will allow me to continue to use my hullavator system currently on round bars. The drop in feature of skyline towers makes the whole change out a snap. Certainly better than buying a whole new hullavator.
I ordered the Yakima roof rack, with the Hullyrollers for the back crossbar and the Mako saddles for the front crossbar to use with my kayak. It arrived just like they told me and I put them on my car the eveningit arrived. Got to finlly use the roof rack on June 22 to go out kayaking and it worked great. Only thing is I did not know about the air reflector piece for the front crossbar. Now I will be ordering it to help with the wind noise.
Products great. Service and delivery from you company was not acceptable. when I placed my order you missed your delivery date by five days. Not sure how this happened, but requested help was not available.
etrailer rocks! Great customer service and support. All pieces worked as promised and for my vehicle.
A bit disappointed that Yakima towers do not have a height adjustment so I can make both round crossbars level to keep my canoes from catching too much air on the highway. My vehicles roof flush rails are are curved vertically and change widths front to back. Had to Mickey Mouse the back crossbar to make it higher with PVC brick moulding.
Also the tower covers with the Yakima label don't clip on strongly enough so I had to add duct tape because I did not trust them to stay on.
