Can a Drill Adapter be Used on a Standard Type Trailer Jack Like the Bulldog BD190754

Updated 09/30/2020 | Published 09/29/2020

Question:

Hi I saw that the brand TrailerValet sell an adapter for 18-20V drill. My problem is that I need a jack that has a leg and TrailerValet does not sell them. I really like the drill powered option and I have a question about that. If I modify the handle to be able to use a drill instead, will it work on a jack like the BullDog BD190754? I need to be sure that it will be able to lift up to 5000 lb. Thank you

The Bulldog Square Jack w/ Footplate part # BD190754 is a nice jack that lifts and lowers the trailer with out the need for a ton on force. This is caused by the nice gear set and the screw they use.

With that said I can't recommend that you use a socket adapter like the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks part # UF48-979005 because it is outside of the typical use of the jack defined by the manufacturer.

If you were to cut the handle of the jack, thread it, screw on a nut that had a 3/4" or 19mm head on it and weld that on to the shaft of the handle it would allow you to use the adapter with the jack to operate it. But of course this would void the warranty given by Bulldog.
