When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

I slipped this into my boat mate trailer for 2001 moomba. Took about an hour to hook up and bleed the system with a buddy. Works great! If you can use simple tools and are mechanically savvy this is a no brainer.

I received my order two days ago, Quick shipping but it was the wrong part. I called and spoke with Noah who sent me an email asking me to take a picture of the part and add my phone number. I did right a way and still have not heard back. I emailed Noah today asking about the status no reply, now Im on a 9min hold to try and talk with someone about my replacement past. The wrong part looks like a good part if it fit my trailer.

Comments
Mark, Im sorry Noah didnt reply to you in a timely manner. We will get this taken care of and send out the correct part.

The product is exactly what I ordered and it was shipped quickly. Only problem is it is missing the upper cap to cover the brake fluid reservoir. I did call Customer Service and they said they would send one ASAP. The photo online shows it is included with the product. I’m waiting on receiving it.

Review from a similar DX7.5L in Brake Actuator

This product doesn’t fit over 3” tongue. Its the exact same size as a 3” tongue.Unusable. Had to remove the internal portion and modify my trailer tongue to fit. Arrived as the worst packaged item I’ve ever received. It was barely still in the box. Whom ever packaged this didn’t have a clue what they were doing.

  • Difference Between Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuators For Disc Brakes
That's a really good question, and there is a difference between the 7,500 lb Dexter DX7.5L A-60 actuators for disc brakes; the differences are both in what they fit, as well as their length. - 14" Long & Top-Mounted For 3" Wide Trailer Tongue: Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX89FR - 19" Long & Bolts To 3" x 4" Trailer Tongue: Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX29FR - 19" Long & Bolts To 3" x 5" Trailer Tongue: Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX56FR Apart from that,...

  • What Size and Grade Mounting Hardware for the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout
The Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout part # DX29FR for disc brakes and part # DX27FR for drum brakes use 1/2" diameter mounting hardware. We have used both grade 5 and grade 8 bolts when doing installations of them but the grade 5 are sufficient. There is very little force actually applied to the bolts other than side pull.

  • Replacement Surge Brake Actuator For Trailer W/ Older Swing Away Actuator For Disc Brakes
Thank you for the pictures! For a replacement option I recommend the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K # DX29FR to replace your current actuator. The # DX29FR has a 7500lb trailer weight rating, is designed for trailers with disc brakes, and is a bolt on replacement. You will likely also need a replacement swing away tongue adapter like the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 3" x 4" Tongue # FHDPB340301 which fits 3" x 4"...

  • Best Replacement for Titan Aero 7500 Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes
The best replacement option we have for a Titan Aero 7500 Brake Actuator is the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator part # DX29FR. The frame size, hitch ball size, and weight capacity will all be the same. The only difference will be switching from a manual to electric lockout and the mounting pattern will be different so you will have to drill new holes but that's it. I don't have any good replacement options that will use the existing holes on the tongue unfortunately because this is an...

The two wires on the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K # DX29FR you purchased are for the reverse lockout solenoid. It does not matter which wire gets connected to what, but one wire will get grounded to the frame and the other wire gets connected to the trailer connector. I included a video of the # DX29FR for you to take a look at.

  • Replacement Solution for UFP A-60 Breakaway Key and Cable
The Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator part # DX89FR for disc or part # DX33FR for drum will work to replace both a UFP A-60 or A-75 Brake Actuator since we don't carry the UFP replacement breakaway setup. The A-60 is rated for 6K and the A-75 is rated for 7.5K. The Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator is rated for 7.5K. • Correct Complete Disc Brake Kit For 2003 Magic Tilt Boat Trailer with Tandem 3500lb Axles
I would be happy to help! Starting with the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc # DX29FR this will fit the 3" x 3" tongue of your 2003 Magic Tilt Trailer perfectly, and is a fantastic option due to it already including an electric lockout solenoid for the backing up the trailer. • Determining Which Hydraulic Disc Brake Kit For 2014 Karavan Boat Trailer
I would be happy to recommend a disc brake kit for your 2014 Karavan trailer carrying a 2013 Robalo 207 but you will need to confirm the axle rating of your single axle, and the bearing combination your trailer uses. To determine the axle capacity you will want to check the axle tag located on the center of the axle which will have the axle weight rating. If the tag is missing we can get an estimate of the axle rating by using the GVWR of the trailer. Moving on to the bearings you...
