Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this replacement inner slide for the Dexter DX 7.5L disc brake actuator. Has a 7,500 pound weight capacity. Now this is the replacement inner slide that'll fit into your existing outer housing of your Dexter DX 7.5L and the legacy UFP surge brake actuator. This inner slide is what we'll telescope inside the outer housing of your surge brake actuator upon braking.
And it applies force to the master cylinder to supply hydraulic pressure to apply the brakes on your trailer.This one here is designed for use with hydraulic disc brakes. If you notice on the back of the master cylinder here, they have this electric reverse lockout and that's to let you back up without actuating your trailer brakes. Basically this will wire to your reverse light circuit and the solenoid 00:00:51 activator automatically when you shift into reverse eliminates any pressure from going to your brakes to keep your brakes from being applied to your trailer.You notice on the very bottom here, I can show you right here. This is your complete master cylinder. It is a constructed of aluminum rather than plastic or steel, gives you increased strength and corrosion resistance.
And right up at the top here is where you would insert your brake fluid. This is where you install the brake fluid into the master cylinder. Does include the breakaway cable, you can see here. And on the front here, it does have this nice low-profile coupler latch to ensure easy, secure connection. It is an over center latch mechanism, which will only engage when the actuator is fully seated on a two-inch diameter hitch ball.And just to show you how that operates.
I happen to pull a two inch hitch ball here. And what you want to do first is it has this safety pin in here, is you pull out the safety pin just like that. And then that'll allow you to move this latch at the top, which will open it up, just like that. And then with it open, lift this up, you can see with it open like that. There's your two-inch ball and you go over the two-inch ball it'll drop into place.
You just push that latch down locks into place. And then for extra security, you want to take this pin, slide it back all the way through there, and that'll keep anybody from opening it. Even if they move the latch, that pin keeps it from opening.And then to remove it again, just take out your safety pin, slide your latch over, open it up, and it'll remove from the two-inch ball. Very easy to install and remove. And again, the ball size it fits is a two-inch diameter, weight capacity on this unit is 7,500 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this replacement inner slide for the Dexter DX 7.5L disc brake actuator with the 7,500-pound weight capacity.

Suoerfast!!! However the product was packaged well and the part was loose allowing some wires to be damaged by theiu housing. Enough wire was let for repairs. Hopefully nothing else was damaged. Will install in a couple days.
