Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Colorado

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster taillight wiring kit for towed vehicles with an LED bulb and socket. That's going to be part number RM-152-LED. To help us on our installation, we're also going to be using the Roadmaster seven wire to six wire Flexo-Coil kit, part number RM-146-7.Here's what our LED bulb and socket is going to look like once we have it installed. These are going to allow us to take the signal from our RV and transfer them to the back of our Colorado, so everybody knows what we're doing, so we can go down the road safely. You can see the turn signal's on our RV, and it's blinking back here as well. So, if we go to change lanes, everyone around us is going to know what's going on.

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Colorado

Speaker 1: Today on this 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Diode Seven Wire to Six Wire Flexo Coil Wiring Kit, part number RM-15267.Here's what our diodes look like installed. Now, the reason you're going to want this wiring harness and diode kit for your vehicle is because when you're flat towing, you need to have a lighting system to stay legal. By utilizing diodes, we can use the factory bulbs in our taillight assembly and not have to worry about using magnetic tow lights on our vehicle, which can scratch the paint. We simply make a connection between the motor home and our Colorado, and we'll have our factor lights working for our taillights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. These diodes are great because not only do they utilize the factory bulbs that we already have, but the also prevent the flow of electricity from the motor home back into the expensive components of the Colorado, so we don't need to worry about any electrical back feed causing any damage to the vehicle's wiring or computer systems. Now, what's great about this kit is that we get a six way connector on the front of the vehicle with a nice spring loaded dust cover to keep the elements out. Now, for this particular flat tow setup, we use the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate, a Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect, the Roadmaster Seven to Six Wire Diode Flexo Coil Wiring Kit for our lighting system. For our braking system, we use an SMI Stay and Play Duo, and for our tow bar we use a Roadmaster Falcon Two Tow Bar.

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Colorado

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, part number RM-15267. Here's what it's going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see here, we've got our left brake light illuminated, and that's illuminated coming through through 4-pole wiring that we added to this vehicle, which then runs to the diode that's behind the light here, and that splits the two signals. One, from the wiring on the motor home that's coming in, and the other, the vehicle's factory signal. It's going to take those and bring them out the same so then you can just use the factory lights, and not have to add any bulb and sockets. It's going to do a great job of giving you your tail lights, turn signals and brake lights on your towed vehicle. It's going to make it nice and easy because there's no magnetic lights or anything that you to set up.
