I got the trailer coupler right when e-trailer said I would and it installed perfectly without a hitch...LOL... These guys do their job and I paid only $2 more for this 8,000 lb capacity vs the 5k capacity that Harbor Freight offers which is perfect for my tandem axle flatbed. Thank You George J. @ e-trailer.
I bought one something pro similar to this one. I damaged it because of the sliding piece. this style requires space for the moving portion under the cover. I liked the pin better on this one. I am not welding it on, bolting instead. My trailer is hot dipped galvanized, I want all of the trailer to look new when I finish.
Great product very good quality. Replaced existing trailer hitch which was not working properly struggled to get to hook onto ball. This new one hooks right up with no problems. Very satisfied with companies on time shipment and product.
Got it installed seems to work fine time will tell. If it were USA made would have been nice.
As is my usual experience with Etrailer.com, I received the part the day before the tracking info had it scheduled!
I had searched all the local suppliers without success, thing to find a 2" hitch coupler for an A-frame tongue rated at 8,000 lb. &
1200 lb. tongue weight. (what was originally on the trailer) The best I could find was a 7,000 lb. unit for about twice the price of the E-trailer part. (Including E/T shipping!)
I removed the old worn-out hitch and welded on the new part with no difficulty. I have used the trailer for 1 short tow so far. The hitch coupler fits my 2" ball perfectly, with no slop or rattle when towing. (As opposed to the old coupler, that had actually popped off the ball twice!)
This seems to be an excellent quality product. I would not hesitate to recommend this part, and Etrailer.com, to anyone needing a similar unit.
I had bought a trailer that the hitch was messed up on. I got a great deal on it because the guy who had it didn't want to fool with replacing the damaged one since it was an A-frame style and he was thinking it would be hard to replace. I got online and found etrailer.com. They had quality products at great prices so I chose to order from them. I received the hitch quickly and it was exactly what I wanted. It was really simple to put on my trailer and so far everything has performed excellent. I would highly recommend etrailer.com products. I'll definitely be ordering more products as I need them from etrailer.com.

I can't exactly answer honestly what I think of it because after year I still haven't had put on the trailer it's a lot heavier in sturdier than I expected Shipping with quick and on time that is far as product I haven't put on the trailer yet

well long story short its still in the box in my garage never got the chance to put it on because somebody stole the trailer

Actually, not that great. I can't use the trailer lock I have without putting behind the ball latch. I can send a picture if you like.
The pin that goes through the latch has to be driven with a hammer once the latch is down. The holes don't line up.
If I had it to do over I'd get an upgraded item.
I don't use the trailer all that often so I accommodate.

That sounds like a big hassle to deal with. I'd love to see a picture to better understand what is going on and look into a smoother solution for ya.
This was just what I needed. Used the grinder to remove the old twisted coupler and welded this coupler on there. Good as new.

The coupler works and fit great on my old dump trailer. It was delivered on time. I would order again from etrailer.

Excellent coupler—very solid and well-built. The latch is smooth and locks securely on the ball, giving me confidence while towing. Weld-on design made for a clean, sturdy install. Great quality for the price and exactly what I needed. Highly recommend!
This hitch works so smoothly. My spouse wanted to go with the other style. Once I showed them how to use it they were thrilled we went this route. No more fighting to get the trailer hooked up.

If you do choose to bolt this coupler on you will be voiding the warranty of the coupler and potentially of the trailer. We do have a few bolt on options that I have included as a link below for your reference.
