Video Transcript for Buyers Products A-Frame Jack with Support Foot Installation

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Buyers Products A-Frame Jack with Support Foot. The part number is 3370091265. Now, this jack from Buyers has been designed to either replace an already existing 5,000 pound jack, or it can also be used for an upgrade, if maybe your trailer has a 2,000, 2500, 3,000 pound jack on it, and you just want something a little more robust, this is going to do an excellent job.It has a top-wind design. You can see that here. I generally prefer that as opposed to the side-wind. It's kind of easier just to do it in this fashion, I think.

As you can see, it also offers nice heavy-duty steel construction. Got the black powder-coat finish on the outer tube portion. Down here on the inner tube, you've got a nice heavy-duty yellow zinc finish. Our handle up here and the rest of our hardware, it's going to have a clear zinc finish on it.The grip itself is going to have an ergonomic feel to it. You get a pretty good purchase on it as you're turning it left and right.

Now, from the center of the jack to the outermost edge of the handle, it's about 6-1/2", so we get pretty good leverage there. And as we rotate it over, we can get it more in kind of a stored position or a locked position, although it won't prevent your jack from being raised or lowered, so keep that in mind.Another measurement you might need to check just to ensure is going to be from our bracket. That's what we basically called the top of the coupler here. That's going to be to the top of our handle. We've got about 16-1/2", so if you have any kind of overhang or anything like that that might cause some interference, definitely measure it, and make sure this is going to work for you. Now, the footplate, you can see here, is removable.

I like that feature so you can take it off and really get the jack tucked up quite high. I also like, instead of a round footplate, which we see very commonly, I like that it's rectangular. That way, you kind of know the direction it needs to be as you're getting it installed. From the left side to the right side, we're looking at about 4-1/8" wide. From the front side to the back side, it's going to be about 5-3/4. So, that should do a good job kind of spreading that energy out over a greater area so we're not just worried about that tube kind of sinking down into softer ground.

It's also going to offer the black powder-coat finish. Now, not only will this work with the footplate like we have here, but you can also put a castor wheel or something on like that. You can see the way our pin passes through there. That'll allow you to attach just about anything. Now, with our jack fully extended, as we have it now, we're going to get our bracket height measurement. That's going to be, again, to our mounting surface here. That's about 24-3/4".Now, here's our jack in the lowest position. As you can see, we've got a lot of adjustability up and down, so it should fit a wide variety. We're now at about 10-3/4".We always like to compare our different products against each other to give you an idea of how they stack up. In my experience, the coating that this jack has, the powder-coat finish we have up here and this real heavy yellow zinc we have down here, seems to be a thicker, more resilient finish than what we see out of some of the other brands. Outside of that, it's just about exactly the same, you know A top line jack's a top line jack in most situations. The coating is really what separates it here.Remember, you need the area on top of the jack here. Sometimes, a side-wind jack, where your handle's here on the side, might be a better option, if you run into limitations on space. The 5,000 pound or lift capacity jack, you're probably going to have it on a bigger trailer. And something I would recommend, if you use it often, if it's more of a daily or a weekly use kind of thing, you might want to consider going with an electric jack, if you have a battery onboard, or if you have a junction box with the seven-pole that feeds 12-volt power. That way, you're just going to be hitting a button, and watching it do the work, rather than doing the work yourself. If you're just an occasional use kind of person, maybe you use your trailer a couple times a year, maybe once a month, maybe a jack like this is going to be right solution for you. That way, you don't have a big investment in it, and you know it's going to work every time.To begin our installation, of course, we'll need the old jack removed. Generally, the best way to do that will be with a couple of jack stands to support the tongue of the trailer. Take your old jack out of the way, and we'll get our new one lowered down and into position. Now, the outside tube of the jack is 2-1/4". You want to ensure that the hole in your trailer coupler is that size. If not, you can go with the one slightly smaller. Now we're just going to feed that down and in there. We'll get our holes lined up, and we can get our hardware started. Now, the jack's not going to come with hardware, so you will have to . What we're just going to do is re-use our old hardware. But if you have to go out and buy new hardware, make sure it's a minimum of a 3/8 diameter bolt, and that it's a minimum of a Grade 5. On ours, we're going to have a flat washer and lock washer on each one, just to prevent accidental backing out. Now, I like to get them all started before tightening any of them down. That's going to allow us a little bit of wiggle room there to make sure they all line up appropriately. All right. All three of them are started, so let's go ahead and snug those down. Then we're going to torque them. All right. Now, we'll extend that inner tube out by turning our handle here. We can put our footplate on.And that's going to complete our look at the Buyers Products A-Frame Trailer Jack with Support Foot, part number 3370091265.

Was looking for a quality heavy duty Jack for my landscape trailer. This one was everything I was looking for. It was black, it was rated for 5000lbs and it was cheap. They were selling them at my local trailer dealer for $89.99 and the were only rated for 2000lbs. Thank you Etrailer for selling quality products at a affordable price. 713431

Working extremely well. I accidentally left the foot attached while towing and a large bump in the road caused the foot to slam into the pavement at speed. Surprisingly still working great, the only damage was some large scratches and most of the paint removed. 837983

Ask the Experts about this Buyers Products Trailer Jack

  • Height of Buyers Products A-Frame Jack # 3370091265 without Handle
I went out to our warehouse to take a look at the Buyers Products A-Frame Jack # 3370091265 referenced in your question. I measured a height from the mounting bracket up to the top of the tube (before the handle) of just about 9-1/2 inches. I have attached an image to assist. To get the clearance measurement you're needing you likely will need to move down to a 2,000 pound topwind jack (if possible for your trailer's tongue weight). For this I recommend taking a look at the Pro Series...

  • USA Made A-Frame Jack that is Topwind and has Foot Plate
We have a similar topwind a-frame jack that is made in the USA with the Dutton Lainson part # DL22772 but the Buyers Products you mentioned is not. For a foot plate you'd then want the part # DL22542 and you'd be set.

  • Will Buyers Products Trailer A-Frame Jack 3370091265 Fit Diamond C 14TUT
Yes, I checked out your Diamond C 14TUT online and found that it uses a standard A-frame design which is what the Buyers Products A-Frame Jack # 3370091265 so this will fit and work well. It has more capacity than you'd ever need at 5,000 lbs which means it will be very easy to crank and last you a long time. I attached an install video for this kit for you to check out as well.

  • Distance from Mounting Bracket to Bottom of Buyers Products Jack 3370091265
I checked with Buyers Products and they informed me that for the # 3370091265 the fully retracted height to the bottom of the mounting bracket is 7.849”, this increases to 9.958” when the “foot plate” is attached.

  • Mounting Bolt Hole Pattern for the Buyers Products A-Frame Jack # 3370091265
The mounting bolt pattern of the Buyers Products A-Frame Jack # 3370091265 is 3" all the way around. The mounting holes are elongated though so if you have a slightly larger/smaller distance it should still work out.

  • Will Buyers Products A-Frame Jack # 3370091265 Work for 2014 Forest River 261BHXL Trailer
Yes, the Buyers Products A-Frame Jack w/ Support Foot # 3370091265 that you referenced will work really nicely to support the tongue weight of your 2014 Forest River 261BHXL Trailer. Based on my research even if you were to load this trailer up to its maximum capacity you're looking at a tongue weight of at most around 1,100 pounds, still well under what this 5,000 pound jack can handle. Using an over-rated jack allows for easier operation and a longer lifespan since it's able to consistently...

  • Mounting Hardware for A-Frame Jack
The Buyers Products A-Frame Jack w/ Support Foot # 3370091265 has the standard 3 inch mounting bolt pattern and will fit standard A-frame couplers like are on the trailer you referenced so unless for some unknown reason this trailer did not have a standard A-frame bolt hole pattern with 3 holes that are 3 inches apart, Jack # 3370091265 will work fine. You can use three 3/8-16 grade 5 bolts to install the jack; though we do not carry the hardware it is available at any hardware store.

  • Recommended Jack for 7,000 Pound Car Hauler
For your car hauler I highly recommend the Husky Brute Electric Trailer Jack # HT87247. This is an extremely high-quality jack that features an automatic stop to keep it from overextending, which is one of the more common causes of trailer jack failure/damage, and a robust 4,500 pound weight capacity. This capacity is much more than what's actually needed for the tongue weight of your 7,000 pound trailer but the healthy safety margin is going to allow the jack to work well under its limit....

Shelby has been out of business for a while now so replacement parts are no longer available. Your best option would be to replace the jack with a new one. It looks like the heaviest version of the 2008 Carson Fun Runner is 9,000 pounds dry. A 2K jack such as # PSEA2000-14007 is a good option. The foot is included.
