A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

Not as sturdy as the previous one I bought from you. The handle keeps coming loose and the screw struggles with the trailer weight. Despite having lubricated the screw it still creaks and groans. I can see having to replace it shortly.
The original jack that came with the big tex trailer lasted over 10 yrs. At one year, with light use (less than 1 x month), this jack has bound up, difficult to crank, even with attempts to lubricate (which I never have to do on our other trailers). Would not recommend, and wonder if there is a better, more durable jack on the market?
Sturdy jack with smooth action. I will consider getting this one again when another trailer is due for one.
Jack was in my possession in 3 days installed and has worked great, thanks
I love my New A-Frame Jack it was easy to pull on it feels & looks sturdy so for so go
Fast shipping it I highly recommend the company & product
Where’s support foot? I don’t have it didn’t come with package
Sturdy unit
Works great
Working extremely well. I accidentally left the foot attached while towing and a large bump in the road caused the foot to slam into the pavement at speed. Surprisingly still working great, the only damage was some large scratches and most of the paint removed.
Fit my horse trailer perfectly and installed in minutes. Well made and appears durable.
The jack does the job but after 1 year is showing signs of deterioration. Gears feel sloppy and squeels like a pig when operating it. Even after applying copious amounts of oil. Will likely only get one more year's use out of it.
well built

Was looking for a quality heavy duty Jack for my landscape trailer. This one was everything I was looking for. It was black, it was rated for 5000lbs and it was cheap. They were selling them at my local trailer dealer for $89.99 and the were only rated for 2000lbs. Thank you Etrailer for selling quality products at a affordable price.
I have placed a few orders from here and have been berry satisfied. I will order all my trailer parts in the future from etrailer.

it works as it should and holds my trailer tongue up.
Finally found an A-Frame Jack with the weight rating I'm comfortable with
Bought this for a friend whose trailer jack was broken. Bolted right up. Just feels like it has alot better guts than the 2 or 3000 lb version. Really smooth.
