A-Frame Coupler and Trailer Jack With Caster for Boat Trailer

Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 06/19/2025

Question:

I have a question about the Aframe trailer yoke style 2 inch coupler CA-5210-B my current one is an Atwood, the thing is in your desciption it shows it being 13 5/8 from tip to where it welds on mine is about an inch more 14 5/8. Will that matter or is there another you recommend? The other thing I need is a Aframe trailer jack and canister wheel but I need one that can retract the most because its a boat trailer and it will hit on the launch if its to far down. My current one can retract to about 3 to 4 inchs and it lifts about 12 1/2. Any recommendation on those as well?

Hey Kenneth! The difference in the coupler dimensions you're referring to won't make a difference. You can use the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B to replace the old Atwood coupler on your trailer.

I'm not sure what capacity you need but, as long as 1,200 lbs of lift is enough I recommend the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K for a replacement. When the jack is retracted it has a bracket height of 1-3/4" so clearance will never be an issue. It doesn't come with a caster so you will need the # JC-102 separately. The jack itself has a 2,000 lb lift capacity but you're limited by the 1,200 lb capacity of the caster.

What kind of boat do you have?

Hey Kenneth, did the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B work out for your trailer? Also, how is the Ultimate Trailer Jack performing with your boat trailer? I'm asking because your experience could really help others in a similar situation.
