Availability Of Replacement Latch For Atwood 88555 2 Coupler

Question:

This trailer arrived at my shop without a latch. It is an Atwood 89555. Do you sell replacement latches or know who would?

Unfortunately the Atwood coupler in your picture (appears to be part 88555) has been discontinued so there is not any latch kit or replacement parts available. At this point the only option we can offer is to replace the coupler entirely.

The most similar coupler we offer is the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B. This has the same 8,000 lb weight rating as the Atwood 88555 coupler. It also appears to be very similar in design.

If you want to go with something a bit more heavy duty, I recommend the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler # DM14793-81. This one is rated for 10,000 lbs. It uses an ez-latch mechanism which is durable, easy to use, and replaceable if the need ever arises.
