Hey Mike, happy to help.
For a welded A-frame coupler on your 2022 Wolf Pup 17JG, I recommend the following:
- A-Frame Trailer Coupler - Yoke Latch - Black - 2" Ball - Weld On - 8,000 lbs # CA-5210-B
This'll be a great option and a solid replacement for the factory coupler. With an 8,000-lb rating, it is well above the Wolf Pup’s GVWR, giving you plenty of safety margin.
This coupler is designed for standard A-frame trailers and works with a 2" hitch ball. As long as your existing coupler is also a 2" ball and welded in place, this will be a direct fit once the old coupler is removed and the new one is welded on. Just be sure the welding is done by a qualified shop to maintain proper alignment and strength.
What happened to the original coupler? Was it damaged somehow?
