Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Gen-Y Hitch black flat plate mount trailer coupler. Now this heavy-duty coupler is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle, providing a connection point for your 2 5/16-inch hitch ball. This is going to be great for utility, livestock, cargo, and construction trailers. This coupler is made here in the USA of a heavy-duty steel construction, has a weight capacity of 20,000 pounds.
And the zinc primer and powder coat finish is going to do a great job of resisting corrosion. Now this flat mounting plate is gonna bolt directly to your trailer. The hardware is sold separately, so you would have to provide that hardware yourself. And this snap latch mechanism is going to ensure a simple but secure hookup for your 2 5/16-inch ball. So I went ahead and opened up my snap latch and I've got my 2 5/16-inch hitch ball.
And then you're just going to drop that coupler onto the ball. (hitch ball clanking) And as you can see, it latches securely in place. And then to uncouple or disconnect, you're just going to turn that again and then that's going to allow you to uncouple. So very easy to use and you're not going to be struggling with the back of your vehicle with this, or in front of your trailer with this or anything like that. It's gonna be very easy to use.
Now the mounting holes are 5/8 of an inch in diameter. The distance between the holes measuring top to bottom and then side-to-side on center, it's going to be the same 4 1/2-inches on center. And then I went ahead and took some measurements of the coupler before our time together. So looking at the overall length from end-to-end, we're sitting at about 8 1/2-inches long, and then at the widest point and the tallest point, 6 1/8-inches. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today.
