Looking For Replacement A-Frame Jack Mount

Updated 11/06/2025 | Published 01/20/2025

Question:

Do you have any sort of replacement a-frame jack mounts? I have a trailer I need to repair. Theres a 5 wide, 18 1/8 back, x 13 3/8 front, 5 wide, 2.5 deep, 3/16 steel bracket welded to the trailer with an A-frame jack mount flange in the middle thats broken and needs replaced.

Hey Suede, thanks for reaching out. We do offer a replacement Bottom Support Plate # JSP-100 which can be welded to the frame. The top support plate is generally part of the coupler, like part # CA-5210-B for example. I hope this answers your question. Comment below if there is anything else I can do.

Hey Suede, how did things go with the bottom support plate for your trailer repair? Did the new plate and coupler setup fit the way you needed? Your update could make it easier for the next person with a broken jack mount.

@JesseM Unfortunately, we ended up fabricating both parts. Ordered a large drill bit, cut and welded some steel. It was less than ideal (because we couldn't just purchase what we needed and weld it in), but turned out excellent. We used some 1/4 in thick, 6" tubular steel, cut it in half, and cut a piece off for the bottom support plate. Carefully measured everything, mocked it up, drilled a hole for the jack, then three holes for the jack bolts. Welded some nuts on the other side of the jack bolt holes. We welded that to the trailer, cleaned it and painted it. Then drilled a hole for the bottom support, and welded it to the new jack support, and it's exceptionally sturdy. Much better materials than the original, and will likely last the full life of the trailer (and then some). Thanks, Suede

@SuedeW Wow, Suede — that’s some great craftsmanship! Sounds like a lot of work, but you nailed it and it really paid off with a super sturdy setup. That custom steel plate and weld job sound like they’ll hold up for years. Have you had a chance to test it out yet?

@JesseM Yeah, it's in place and working great. It turned out better than I expected, but we were pretty meticulous. My son did all the welding, I came up with the design (straight forward really), did a lot of the cutting and drilling (my son helped with that too). We used a tiny drill press and a carbide bit to cut the main holes (on the top plate and support plate), and regular titanium plated drill bits for the bolt holes. We coated it in primer, and painted black to match the trailer. If you didn't know that we broke it, you'd never be able to tell it was a custom repair job.
