The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.

Today we'll be installing the LED Custer Trailer Tail Light, part number CPL001. As you can see, this light replaces your factory incandescent light with LED's. Nice and bright, you actually have a marker light here on the side. A lot of them just have reflectors, this one actually does have a light that lights up. It's a nice feature about this light. The first step when installing your new trailer light, if you do have the factory one or the replacement incandescent one here, go ahead and remove that. We'll take our new LED taillight.
It's an easy two wire design. The studs are actually the ground here for the light so it'll get grounded through the trailer and through the holes. Take our wires, feed those through. Line up the studs in the pre-drilled holes. It does come with new flange nuts to mount it to your trailer. We'll go ahead and get a 10 millimeter socket and snug those down.
Once we have those tightened down, you'll see it nice and secure to the trailer and, again, those are our grounds here. You only have two wire design. Green wire for our turn signal and brake light and the brown wire will be our running light circuit. Just trip those back and then make our connections. We're going to use heat treat plug 00:01:07 connectors just to protect our connections.
Now that we have these crimped down we'll go ahead and heat these up. We'll shrink it around the wire to seal it up. Go ahead and take some electrical tape, wrap those connections up, just another added layer of protection for our connections. Now that we have our trailer hooked up to a vehicle, we can go ahead and test our functions. We'll turn on our running lights. See a nice, bright, LED running light.
Then we check our turn signal. Then our brake. Now with our new taillight installed, we're ready to hit the road. That'll do it for the Custer LED Taillight, part number CPL 001. .

I confronted a mail thief's car on our single lane private road, while driving my SUV with homemade teardrop attached. The leader drove her stolen Lexus off road around me and took out my passenger side trailer light, fender, etc. This was the perfect replacement and I was glad to be able to buy the single light and not have to pay for both. Light looks good and is inexpensive. It has 2 wires so I assume ground is the bolts. It will make my trailer look much better.
