Many brake controllers take up too much cabin space, but this one mounts flush to the dash and is only 1" thick. The trim, under-dash profile keeps it out of the way while still easy to reach. The included bracket and hardware make setup simple, and automatic leveling means you can mount it at any angle without compromising performance.
The TriFlex NEXT uses an internal 3-axis accelerometer that senses your vehicle’s rate of deceleration and matches it perfectly on the trailer brakes. That means when you brake lightly, your trailer does too; when you brake harder, it keeps up instantly. It works with up to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and supports electric brakes. The result is even braking across your whole setup without the push-pull or jerky stops that wear tires and rotors.
Getting the right brake feel depends on both trailer weight and road conditions. This controller gives you full control through two rocker switches—gain adjusts from 0.5 to 9.9 in 0.5 increments, while load control sets aggressiveness from 1 to 9. Together they let you dial in just the right amount of stopping force so the trailer stays balanced behind you whether cruising flat roads or descending a steep grade.
The large LED display shows braking power, sensitivity settings, and error codes all in plain text so you can check them with a quick glance. Brightness is adjustable and includes a night mode so it doesn’t glare while driving after dark. Continuous self-diagnostics run in the background, giving you early warnings for shorts or overloads before they become an issue.
The TriFlex NEXT guards your towing setup with multiple layers of protection—short circuit defense, polarity protection to prevent reversed wiring damage, and automatic sleep mode that kicks in after 5 minutes of inactivity to minimize battery drain. It also reduces power output during prolonged stops to keep trailer brakes from overheating, helping preserve components for the long run.

The Curt wiring adapter was fine, however our coach was not wired with a plug in the harness, so installation required a little wiring work to complete. No big issue, the product was great

This unit took less than 10 minutes to install and works flawlessly with my Grand Cherokee while pulling a Travel Trailer. Plus its low profile design made it easy to install by the hood release so I don't have a big box and display on top of my dashboard. Great product at the right price. Works well. The connector I got from e trailer which fits other older model Audi’s wasn’t listed to fit the 2024 Audi but fit perfectly. The Curt Triflex is an easy to use brake controller. Highly recommend!

Arrived as planed and was much smaller then my old clunky one. The custom cable harness was easy to install. Finding a flat spot to mount the controller took the longest to find the perfect spot. I gave a five stars because every was as it said. (Plug and play)

I am very pleased with the Curt Triflex brake controller. It does everything they say it will do. It was easy to install in my Class C, Ford E450 motor home. It was plug and play. There are other products that cost a lot more money but I am glad I went with the Curt product.

Trailer Brake does its job. If you ever need to increase the breaking power while hitting the Brake forget it though. I wish I would have bought one with a wheel to control the brake power.

Took a while to figure it out. Have a 2003 Dodge van. Had to tow in package but didn’t have any wiring factory installed other than for the seven way. Paul it was great identifying what I need and sending it to me. Thank you very much.

harness fit but no power to controller unless I stepped on brake pedal. Found someone had removed 30 amp fuse in brake circuit. Working great now!
This is a new model of the Curt TriFlex brake controller. As a replacement for the previous unit, it was nice to be able to install it without rewiring. The new model has a more modern style digital display that is easier to read and less annoying. The button controls are a bit less obvious than the previous model, so it takes a little effort to figure out how to adjust the system. Overall, I think it's a better unit that the previous models.

The system resets after each brake pedal release. When you need it, it take 10-15 seconds to turn on, calibrate, and then start functioning. I purchased this for a 2001 F250 SD. Is the wiring harness the issue? It seems like it isn't getting power all the time, which could be the black wire not being hot all the time. I haven't checked this, but if that is the case, can I fix it myself or is their a new harness that would take care of this issue?
