When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This front brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty brake pads with heat-managing rotors for strong initial bite and predictable braking through repeated stops.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
Fresh brake components often need a break-in period before they reach their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your brake components stay in better condition between services while continuing to provide the smooth braking performance they were designed to deliver.
Replacing brakes is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren front-wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now, this kit has been designed to fit your 2019 to current Ram 1500, and then your 2021 to 2024 Ram 1500 without the 6.2 liter engine. Now, on custom-fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend going through our vehicle pick guide here at etrailer, pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our pick guide will confirm if this kit will work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, upgrading the suspension on your truck can definitely improve the ride quality, it can help reduce that sag while hauling or towing, and it can also make your truck feel more stable while you're again towing or hauling those heavier loads.
But it's not going to reduce the extra workload that are placed on your factory brakes. So if you've ever felt like that your truck is taking longer to stop when you're towing a trailer, or maybe your brakes are wearing down faster than expected, or maybe that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit is going to come in. This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads. Now, it comes with these low metallic Onyx bike brake pads that are going to give you a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. So you're gonna notice a more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip.
And these multi-layered rubber shims are gonna help stabilize the brake pads during braking, ultimately reducing vibration, keeping the brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance. On your screen, the first photo that I have there on the left shows you a detailed look at one of the shims from Timbren there, just showing you the construction. And then the second photo there gives you a better detail also of the construction of the brake pad itself. So these positive molded pads paired with these precision balance rotors are going to promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal feel. Now, speaking of the rotors, these are OEM-style vented rotors as you can see here, so that's gonna help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing.
And these are premium (metal clanging) G3000 raw iron rotors. And they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins, and outer edges. And as you know, heat is the enemy of brakes, so this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than the standard GEOMET coating most commonly used on OEM parts. This coating's also gonna help protect them from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, so it's gonna work to keep your brakes looking cleaner between surfaces without affecting braking performance. By the way, the pads also feature a bed-in coating indicated by the blue lines on the pads.
This is gonna transfer to the rotor to protect it during the first stops, so you're gonna be able to enjoy consistent braking performance sooner after the installation. Speaking of installation, it's gonna be straightforward because everything that you basically are going to need is gonna come in this kit. Obviously, you're gonna get the rotors, you're gonna get the pads, you're gonna get hardware and lubrication. But if you're looking for help with installation, maybe you're not too excited about doing it yourself, on this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the install for you. But overall, if you've already upgraded the suspension on your truck for that more controlled ride, more comfortable ride, then this brake kit is going to compliment that suspension upgrade by addressing the other half of the equation. This is gonna give your truck the stopping power and the confidence to better handle the extra weight of towing or hauling. And so working together, it's gonna give you a more safe, more capable towing setup and experience. I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thanks for joining me.
