Question:
Hi I used the 4 to 7 adapter an hooked up the 12 volt using the blk wire .It all works great but I wonder if the test light should stay on all the time and if it would drain the battery. Is there a switch to turn it off or could I add one Thank you.

Since you have a 4-way in your 2019 Toyota Highlander you can install a brake controller like the Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV with Wiring Adapter # C51515 so long as you use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This has a 7-way to 4-way adapter but that alone isn't enough to install a break controller. This kit also includes the necessary circuit breakers, wire and additional hardware you will need to install a brake controller.
I have added a link to a video review and help articles on installing brake controllers for you to take a look at.
