  • EZ Latch and Sleeve-Lock Trailer Couplers To Replace Latch Coupler on 2023 Intech Sol Horizon Camper
Based on your measurements it matches our Fulton 50-Degree A-Frame Coupler # FE443050303 which looks to be the same as what is on the 2024 Intech Sol Horizon from the videos I could find. So this would use either the EZ Latch # DM14793-81 or Sleeve-Lock # CA-5196-B coupler. Like you mentioned you will have to drill new holes to match your trailer mounts as they do not use a typical bolt on pattern.

  • Can The etrailer Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B Be Bolted To The Trailer Tongue
Hey Fred, The etrailer Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B wasn't designed to be bolted on so I can not confirm that drilling and bolting it to the trailer tongue would be acceptable. I will say that most couplers designed to bolt on to the tongue in this weight capacity would use six 3/8" grade 5 bolts, with three bolts per side running horizontally. If you'd like a coupler that is designed to be bolted on the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole # DM14793-52 would...

  • Replacement Parts for Sleeve-Lock Couplers
We do not have many replacement parts for Sleeve-Lock couplers like the item # CA-5196-B you were looking at. We just have the replacement spring item # CA-5196-SPR and the replacement pin item # CA-5196-PN.

  • Replacement EZ Use Coupler For Horse Trailer With 2" Sleeve Lock Coupler
I recommend having the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler # DM14791-97 welded on in place of the Sleeve-Lock # CA-5196-B style coupler that you currently have. This Demco coupler uses a 2" hitch ball the same as your current coupler and is rated for up to 10,000lbs which is more than the maximum weight your trailer can weigh.

  • Coupler Solution for A-Frame Trailer that Has Non-Standard Angle for A-Frame
The Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B was designed for attaching to the standard 50 degree a-frame channels found at the front of trailers. If you have a different angle that doesn't sit flush a better choice might be to go with a channel mounted style coupler like the part # BDA2003C0317. The channel welds to the front of the trailer where the channels meet and the coupler then attaches into the channel.

  • Comparing CA-5196-B And BD028288 Couplers And Availability Of Bolt-On Options
Hello Ryan. The # CA-5196-B Ram Sleeve Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler and the Bulldog # BD028288 are fairly similar. They are both 50 degree a-frame couplers designed for a 2" ball and both are about 16" long overall. The main difference is the # CA-5196-B is rated for 7,000 lbs, while the Bulldog is rated for only 5,000. We do offer a few really nice option for a bolt-on A-frame coupler. Take a look at the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler # DM14793-52. This is designed to be bolted on, and...

  • Replacement for Shelby 5107 A-Frame Trailer Coupler
Based on my research the Shelby 5107 coupler looks to be an A-frame coupler that accepts a 2" ball, though I was unable to find the weight capacity as this seems to be an older coupler. For a replacement coupler there are a couple different options, depending on the weight capacity you require. These are bolt-on A-frame couplers that accept a 2" ball: - 5,000 lbs: A-Frame Coupler with Black Paint Finish # CA5100B - 7,000 lbs: Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler - Flip Latch # CA-5196-B

  • Recommended Coupler And Hitch Lock Combination Keyed Alike
For your sleeve-lock coupler, I recommend the Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock and Coupler Lock Set - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # 3794DAT. This will give you the hitch lock, the coupler ball lock and the pin lock. This kit is the best kit that has all three components keyed alike. If you want a better fit, you may need to move to a system with different keys. This Master Lock Set is very nice, but if you want the best coupler lock, I recommend you get something like the Blaylock...

  • Extended A-Frame Coupler with 2 Inch Ball for a Casita Travel Trailer
Yes, there are trailer couplers that have a greater distance between the center of the coupler where the ball sits to the center of the jack tube hole. However, this is not really by design for this exact purpose and I am not sure it would get you the extra clearance you need to lower your tailgate without hitting the tongue jack. The best option for this is an extended ball mount like you are using now. That said, the Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler part # CA-5196-B will provide...

  • Is Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B Designed for Weld On 50 Degree A-Frames
Yes, the Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B that you referenced is a weld-on coupler designed to fit 50 degree A-frame trailers like you mentioned. Nearly all A-frame trailers are 50 degree so it's hard to find A-frame couplers that are designed for a different angle.

  • Does BlayLock Coupler Lock # BLTL-22 Fit 2003 Ram Collar Lock Style Coupler
Yes, the BlayLock Coupler Lock part # BLTL-22 does fit your Ram coupler jack that is a collar lock style like the # CA-5196-B. Your Ram coupler and the # CA-5196-B are the same as they are both made by same company.

  • Determining True Capacity of Trailer When Title and Coupler List Different Limits
A trailer is always going to be limited by its weakest component. This means that even if everything else on the trailer (axle, hubs, wheels, suspension, etc) is rated for 7,000 pounds, you will still need to adhere to the 5,000 pound limit on the coupler. I'm not really sure why a trailer manufacturer would install a lower rated coupler on a trailer. It's also possible that it wasn't the manufacturer but a previous owner who needed to replace the coupler and simply didn't pay close enough...

  • Where is the etrailer Coupler Item # CA-5196-B Made?
The Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler - Flip Latch - Black - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs item # CA-5196-B is made by Pacific Boat Trailers out of Chino, California with parts coming from China. If you are looking for an American made A-frame Trailer Coupler I recommend the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole - eZ-Latch - Black - 2" Ball - Bolt On - 10K Item # DM14793-81. This has the same dimensions but a slightly higher capacity and is made in the USA.

  • Troubleshooting CA-5196-B Sleeve-Lock Trailer Coupler That Only Opens With Screwdriver Prying
Hey Jason, sorry you're having trouble with the Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B. Is the collar seizing or do you think it's the actual locking clamp mechanism on the ball itself? Have you tried spraying some penetrating oil like WD40 or PB Blaster in there and let is soak a few minutes then try to open and close it a few times with the lever? I would try that and see what happens. Likely there is some surface rust or crud built up. You could also take a wire brush to clean...
