Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Recieved my hitch and wiring sbout 5 days after order was placed. Actually found same hitch for a lower price from a competitor while ordering. Etrailer verified price from competitor matched it and refunded a % of the difference as part of their price match policy. Etrailer is a brease to deal with. Hitch and wiring was for my 2021 jeep Cherokee. Only issue is with the packaging of tow hitch. They just toss it in a box with no padding or protection. When I received my box at home both ends of the box had busted open from where the ends of the hitch broke thru box and a hole in middle of box. My hitch ends where scratched up pretty good. Not sure why they package the hitches with no protection on the ends. This is my 2nd tow hitch purchase from etrailer and same thing happened with my other order a few years ago.Very frustrating and disappointed on how they pack up the hitch for shipping. I am not the only one who has had this problem. I called customer service and their response was to go buy a can of spray paint and cover scratches and email reciept into them for reimbursement. How about packaging the tow hitch properly so it doesnt break through the box! To ask a customer to go buy a can of spray paint after spending $xxx for a hitch and wiring is unthinkable customer service. Package correctly and offer a discount on the order if it is damaged. Cannot blame ups for this one. The packing of the product was subpar at best. Other than that the hitch fits great and will be put to good use. Overall etrailer is great to deal with. Just need to work on how products are packaged for shipping.

I've had the Curt trailer hitch receiver on my 2020 Jeep Cherokee for about 1 year now and am very satisfied with it. It appears to be well built and high quality. I haven't had any issues with it and after a year of ownership have zero complaints.
Installation was fairly easy and I performed it by myself in my driveway with my Jeep on a set of ramps. The most intimidating thing about the installation, at least for me, was removing part of the exhaust at the rear of the Jeep but it was not difficult and everything went smoothly. The Curt hitch can be installed by one person, as I did, but having two people install it would be easier as the hitch is fairly heavy and well built.
After 1 year of ownership I would recommend the Curt hitch to anyone who owns a Jeep Cherokee, especially if you don't want to pay the dealerships markup on a factory hitch or one that the dealership will install for you for a premium price.
Samuel - 05/02/2022Installation was exactly as described in the instructions and pretty easy. This is a very sturdy and robust product (as you would expect). I was able to install the hitch by myself although, there were a couple of times where another set of hands would have been super helpful and appreciated. The most difficult part was removing the muffler on my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. This was of no fault of etrailer or Curt, it's just a difficult task. All-in-all, it was straightforward and I would definitely recommend this hitch.
Mounted this to my 2020 Jeep Cherokee TrailHawk. Installation was fairly difficult because the muffler and tailpipes have be disconnected. Also, when installed, this hitch sits much lower than the factory hitch and looks “out-of-place”.
Katrina B - 03/18/2022Very pleased. This is quality piece of equipment that fit perfectly. Instructions are straightforward and watching all available videos on installation was extremely helpful.
I did the install all by myself using a motorcycle jack and lifted the hitch right into place. Install took me three hours taking my time and doing each step thoroughly.
Mark - 04/26/2020I had this hitch installed on my 2020 Jeep Cherokee at a local independent garage along with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector (Item 118779). The mechanic that did the installation was impressed at how well built this was and how well it fit. The instructions as well as the very helpful video made the installation a breeze.
JES - 11/15/2021This package worked absolutely perfectly with my 2021 Cherokee Trailhawk. My only suggestion is that this setup substantially cuts down on your departure angle. Serious off-roaders beware. Not an issue for the majority of my applications. This is my second purchase from etrailer. Both times it was a painless process. Quality products, a very knowledgeable staff, and quality service and follow up. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience.
The Curt hit h is excellent. My review is more for the customer service at etrailer. I ordered back in September w/ item being on back order. ET forwarded order to be fulfilled by Curt. Thought that was cool. Come Nov though no hitch. Check website its in stock and ON SALE! A call to customer service started a review. They found how forwarded order was lost and crossed with the delivery they received. Two days later hitch is in my driveway with a billing credit. Great product but absolutely stellar customer service. Thanks etrailer!
Allen - 11/15/2021Hitch and T-Connector arrived in a few days. Fit was great and install was very easy. It is a very heavy-duty piece. The T-connector for the wiring makes it really easy to connect to brake lights. Plug and play.
Not real happy with it, but, it's installed and I can't return it. On this vehicle, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, it goes under the bumper which is curved inward and as a result it sticks out considerably and is ugly as a result. My brother bought the same car with a factory hitch and it goes through the bumper which is what I wanted and I thought I was getting. Wouldn't recommend it unless you want an eyesore on the back of your Cherokee.
This installation went perfectly. Be Warned that getting all bolts in is something that is VERY tricky. This is a two person and a jack-stand type of job. And a Lift would be handy too. I used Ramps and was on my back for a long time with help from a very good friend. It was perhaps the second most difficult hitch installation I've ever done. Still it went as expected. Fit as expected. Nice.
A great hitch. Well made and fits like a glove. Even able to install it single-handed, although two would have been better, lol! Make sure you actually WATCH or READ the instructions. It would have been easier for me if I had! But it still was great. Love the utility of this. Fantastic service from etrailer.
I chose this hitch because I wanted the behind bumper look but didn’t want to modify the bumper at all. My Cherokee was brand new so dropping the muffler was simple. The hitch does pinch the facia a little bit and if the bumper ever needed the come off so would the hitch.
Easy to install and the video was a great help. Super sturdy and fits like a glove!
Great hitch, perfect fit! I would not recommend trying to do this by yourself (but if you do, have some ratchet straps handy to use as slings to help hold things in place). Also, before you try to put the hitch on, make sure you trim the sealer that is on the side of the frame rail or else to hitch won’t fit up in its proper position.
Hitch was easy to put on , watching the video was better than the directions for me. Fit like advertised.
Will be using for a bike rack. Highly recommend!
Although I had nothing to do with the installation of this product I did choose it. Therefore I will say that it is perfect on my 2020 Cherokee and looks great. My husband and son did the installation and they did say it was much harder than the video showed!! And they are builder/engineer so not someone unfamiliar with installing things! Anyway, great product, I’ve yet to put my bike rack on but my peace sign tow hitch cover looks great and I’m happy to be able to use it again!
Customer service was great, fast shipping but UPS handling was less than commendable.

The receivers are definitely high quality and well built and the fit is perfect. This install was a little more difficult than the last one but not too bad 2 hours but I took my time and didn’t rush

Looks very good. Son in law will be installing it Sunday. Using it for motorized wheel chair carrier. Carrier coming next week, chair is local so will work out fine. Going on a 19 Trailhawk
RICHARD L - 02/07/2021the hitch is heavy duty and very well made, install video really helped, i installed hitch about 70min by myself in my garage. fit perfect. i have a 2019 jeep cherokee latitude plus, single exhaust on drivers side. no cutting needed. did not even have to jack up vehicle. great product
Mike - 02/09/2021Fits like a glove! Took about a hour with my son and myself. A little hiccup when I fished the side bolts out the wrong hole, but after a little finagling and resetting the bolts in the proper holes, went together just as promised. No trimming of any bumper or exhaust flanges needed. Looks Great! Great customer support with etrailer.com and their installation videos and instructions. Now onto the installation of the Curt T-connector wiring harness. That looks like it might be a little more time consuming with the disassembly of the interior trim and routing of the wire to the battery.

I like the way the hitch hides behind the bumper. I was a little worried when UPS delivered the package and the UPS man told me that the package was damaged. The ends of the box were crushed and split open. Fortunately the parts were taped to the hitch and were all there. The hitch had some scrapes on it, but are hidden. This is a wonderful high quality hitch.
