Coupler Solution for A-Frame Trailer that Has Non-Standard Angle for A-Frame

Updated 09/10/2020 | Published 09/08/2020

Question:

We have attempted to apply tongue angels to the referenced for welding. The radius in the 90 degree angles of the coupler will not allow both legs of the tongue angles to fit flush against against the mating coupler surfaces. Is this typical? Is there a fix? Do I need to return this for a different style? I have written several emails over the past few weeks and have no response. Need some help on this one. Thanks

The Sleeve-Lock A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5196-B was designed for attaching to the standard 50 degree a-frame channels found at the front of trailers. If you have a different angle that doesn't sit flush a better choice might be to go with a channel mounted style coupler like the part # BDA2003C0317. The channel welds to the front of the trailer where the channels meet and the coupler then attaches into the channel.
