Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Dometic RV toilet seat. This is going to replace the toilet seat for your Dometic 310 and 311 series RV toilets.It does have the soft close feature to it, which we all know is important in our motor homes and RVs. They're not always the thickest walls, so if you're up in the middle of the night and you're done with your business, it will be nice to not have to wake everybody else up with a slamming lid.This is a wood construction seat and lid, so it is going to stay warmer in the winter. It's not going to be as cold when we go to sit down and it's going to be very easy to install.
We've got a two hole mount on the back here. You can see we've got all the hardware in there already. But basically you just drop those plastic screws through from the top side here into the two holes that are on your toilet and then go from underneath. Put those little nuts on there. And then on the top it's got these caps.
So, you cover up those holes. It gives it a nice finished look.This is a direct replacement for the 310 and 311 series. But just for the sake of peace of mind for some of you who may still be a little skeptical. Our overall dimensions: We're looking at right about 15 and a quarter of an inch long for our lid. And I lift this up.
Try and be careful because that soft close only works when it's attached. Our seat opening is right about 11 inches by about about eight inches there.And what I meant by be careful: So, if we don't have this portion installed, this lid will fall forward without the soft close functionality to it. So, you can smash your fingers like I did a few minutes ago. So, you want to be careful with that as you're installing this. Make sure that you have that bolted down in place before you allow the lid to come down, otherwise it will not close slowly or softly.This is made here in the USA and this is the white option.
There's also the exact same seat and lid combo but in tan. So, if you have a tan toilet, you can get that option as well. You can see the part numbers on the screen there for either option for you, depending on what your needs are.Overall, think this is going to be a great quality toilet. I really like that soft close feature there. The wood is going to make it feel more comfortable, more like your toilet seat at home. Plus you're not going to have to worry about that material getting cold in the winter time, so it's going to be more comfortable to use that way. Overall, I think it's a nice quality toilet. It's going to do the job that you needed to do and do it well. That's going to complete our look at the Dometic RV toilet seat. Thanks for watching.

Our previous RV came with a slow close wooden seat but our current one did not. Our usual RV parts supplier did not have them in stock so I checked with ETrailer and as usual you had what I needed.

Very sturdy, well built and quiet. Works very well, It did develop a leak after a year of use, which ended up being the flush valve, it was a cheap and easy repair, even bought a spare to carry with us.

The item arrived a day ahead of time. It was missing a plastic screw cover and had a few minor scuffs, but for a twenty year old motorhome I'm not too worried about perfection.

Our hinge on our original lid snapped. We went to the local RV store and found out that not even Dometic had them in stock. It’s pretty bad when the manufacturer doesn’t have them. Our choice was to buy a new toilet for close to $300 or try to find a replacement lid. I found this site online, saw they had them in stock, although they were extremely expensive. Since it was either $300 for a new toilet or $80 for a new seat/lid, we went with the less expensive option. I didn’t realize I ordered it in white vs the off white that our toilet is, but at this point, I was pretty much over it. It is pretty sad that Dometic can’t design a toilet that can use a standard house toilet lid for $20, especially when they can’t stock their own replacement parts, but I guess that’s the downsize of RV life. The company was way overpriced, but we received it quickly, undamaged, and thankful some had one.

A real toilet seat! Order this to replace the flimsy seat that manufactures put in Travel Trailers. It is more than just a seat but a complete kit. This Toilet seat has a slow close lid so I never have to worry about a loud thud from a sudden drop of the lid. Had question about a Part-timer in product title and was answered aiding me in choosing this product... It's the shape of the seat- this one is more round.
