Features to know about

Effortless Trailer Attachment: Thumb Latch Mechanism

Hooking up your trailer is a breeze with the thumb latch feature. It's designed for easy clamping around your 2-5/16" hitch ball. Simply push the latch down and slide it backward to open, and forward to close the ball socket. This intuitive mechanism sets up your trailer quickly and securely, making towing stress-free.

Conquer Heavy Loads with Ease: 14,000 lbs GTW Capacity

Great for tall RV frames, this coupler supports a massive 14,000 lbs gross towing weight (GTW). The sturdy steel construction ensures your trailer is set for the long haul, perfect for transporting hefty loads without compromising safety or performance on the road.

Built to Last: Black Powder Coat Finish

Durability meets aesthetics with the sleek black powder coat finish, offering both rust resistance and a professional look. Whether you're tackling the elements or seeking a tidy attachment, this finish helps maintain the coupler's integrity over time, ensuring longevity in its performance.

Versatile Underslung Design: Perfect for Tall Frames

The underslung coupler design is great for tall trailers like RVs, as it mounts to the bottom of your trailer's frame, providing a lower connection point. This setup is particularly beneficial for trailers with higher ground clearance, ensuring safe and level towing.

Hassle-Free Jack Installation: Built-In Jack Attachment Point

The built-in jack attachment point simplifies the installation of a round utility jack, making it easier than ever to set up and maintain your trailer equipment. The industry-standard mounting pattern means compatibility and ease of use when adding or replacing your jack.

Rigid and Reliable: SAE J684 Certified

Safety and reliability are paramount, and this coupler meets the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J684 standards. It's a testament to the coupler's quality and dependable performance, giving you confidence each time you hit the road with your trailer.

  • What is the Measurement in Height on Underslung Coupler # CA-5335-B?
Hello Jeff, Thank you so much for the diagram. I was able to get the measurement you requested, I am sorry I do not have dimensional drawing I can send. We didn't have any stock here at our Wentzville, MO location so I reached out to a friend at our Salt Lake City location and he said it is 3" tall at the spot you requested on the A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5335-B. What kind of trailer are you putting this on?

  • Ball Mount with Angle that Would Best Match Underslung Style Coupler
Hey Miley, there aren't any underslung specific coupler balls available. The head of the underslung Blue Ox weight distribution systems does angle the ball back so best option might be a Gen-Y Glyder ball mount like the part # 325-GH-12005 that is cushioned but as it unloads it would tilt back like you are wanting.

  • How to Clean and Lubricate a Difficult to Open Trailer Coupler
Hey John hopefully it just needs a good cleaning and lubrication. It would be noticeable if something was bent or broken and even then it probably wouldn't work at all. I recommend dousing your coupler in WD-40 a couple times. Open the latch and spray as much as possible inside the mechanism. Just keep working it over and opening and closing the latch while you're doing it. Coupler's like item # CA-5335-B aren't the easiest to operate because they get all kids of gunk and road grime in...

The difference between the standard and underslung B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System is the coupler style they are designed for. If you have an underslung coupler mounted to the bottom of your frame like # CA-5335-B then you need the underslung Continuum # BW88FR.

  • Weight Distribution Hitch For 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 31BHDS With Underslung Coupler
We can get you set up with a weight distribution hitch for your 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 31BHDS, though the SwayPro # BXW2000 isn't rated correctly for that trailer. That hitch is for tongue weights between 1,500 lbs and 2,000 lbs, andthe '06 Jay Flight 31BHDS has a 9,000 lb GVWR, so your tongue weight is going to be in the 1,100 lb - 1,200 lb range. From my research it looks as if the trailer also has an underslung coupler, so what you need is the following: - Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution...

  • Is There a Weight Distribution System that Will Fit an 8 inch Tall Trailer Frame
I have a solution for you but the Reese Weight Distribution w/out Shank # RP66021 that you referenced won't work well for you due to how tall your frame is. So what you'll need to do is install an under slung coupler on your trailer like the # CA-5335-B which basically gives you a coupler that attaches to the bottom of the trailer frame so that you can use a weight distribution system designed for underslung coupler like the # BXW1003 which has a tongue weight range of 750-1,000 lbs. The difference between Blue Ox SwayPro heads # BXW4011 and # BXW4012 is the angle at which the trunnions are relative to the head. Head # BXW4012 is designed for underslung, also called bottom-mount, couplers so the bars are not at as a steep of an angle compared to the standard version # BXW4011. It is hard to tell without looking at them next to each other. An underslung coupler would look like # CA-5335-B and would be mounted at the bottom of the tongue rather than at the top like a...

Well, that is a coupler, though it is in bad shape. It is a bottom mount or underslung coupler like # CA-5335-B. I would use a protractor, see photo, place the protractor on the edge of the inside of one side of the trailer frame and the other inside edge of the trailer frame should be parallel with the 50 degree line on the protractor. Another way to verify the angle is to measure the angle where the frame meets the cross member for the trailer bed itself. I don't think you are doing anything wrong apart from jumping on the truck and even that isn't wrong it's just more fun to jump on a trampoline or in puddles. There are several reasons why the coupler could be having a hard time releasing from the ball. First, if there is tension on the ball from the truck/trailer being on uneven ground then that could be the problem. Pulling slightly forward or rearward to release the tension may be all you need to do. You also might be able use the...
