Variable-Speed Fan

MaxxFan Plus Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan operates in manual mode. You can choose from 4 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed.

This fan also exhausts stale air out of your RV. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Flush-Mounted Keypad

Keypad for MaxxFan Plus

The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to operate the fan, including turning the fan on or off. You can also control the fan speed.

Manual-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Plus Dual Arms - Manual

The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.

Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Plus Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Plus vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The vent also has a molded-in mounting flange that is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Then insert the MaxxFan Plus into the opening in the roof and mount the flange to the roof. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

MaxxFan Plus With FanMate Cover

For extra rain protection, install a MaxxAir FanMate vent cover (sold separately) using the molded mounting tabs located on the flange. The tabs are designed to align with the integrated brackets on the FanMate, allowing for a no-drill, tool-free installation. These tabs also have rubber inserts that prevent water from seeping in under the flange.

Negative first. BEWARE, the "white" lid on this fan is opaque, not translucent. It says neither of these words on the product page. I assumed it was translucent like every other white lid I've seen in person, and I got that thing well glued and screwed before I realized my bathroom is now a cave. If you want the cave look, or pick the "smoke" option, it's a good unit otherwise. The fan performs very well. It has extremely strong suction. Also, it's very quiet and when running, the blades visually disappear and overall it's a good looking design. Control is simple, but a little confusing at first with the dedicated off button (as opposed to off being included in the speed cycles). Side note, the suction is so good, I now know that I have a vapor leak from my black tank... Fun times.

Very easy installation. I'm an average do-it-yourselfer and had no problems. I replaced one of the original vents in a 20 year old Airstream. The hardest part of the installation was removing the old vent, Airstream didn't skimp on the adhesive. The Maxxfan looks good inside and out and the fan is very quiet. I was very impressed with the quality and workmanship of the whole unit. I've already ordered another one to replace the other original vent.

by:

works great, i have several and they keep the generators from overheating

by:

The fans were a great value work exceptionally well are very quiet. The one thing I did was by a switch and wire it in so I can reverse the fans from intake to outtake. Switches were less than $10 and if I remember right it was a considerable amount more if you bought a reversible fan system so I would highly suggest people to go on [online] and looking at it it’s not that hard to do. Thanks again for all your help look forward to my next purchase from you.

I’m very satisfied with this product. I did modify it and wired in a reversal switch.

by:

Great product at a great price !! Works great love the different fan speeds for pulling a great draft thru out our motor home.the only thing I can say remotely bad is that after a month of using it now it has a slight squell while on. But over all love it !!! Would definitely purchase again.

by:

Great fan. It moves alot of air!

by:

The fan is very nice. Our old one came with the camper and the fan blades striped out around the shaft and didn't turn anymore. This one is very quiet and works great. Just had trouble with shipping. For some reason it was shipped by Fed EX and then they used dumb post. Which made it come late.

by:

This fan has performed flawlessly for MANY camping tips over the last year. We have a mini camper and I like parking it in the garage. To facilitate this I mounted the fan on the exterior side wall at the trailer nose so it fits under the door. Installation was straightforward and has made our little sleep space very comfortable. One fine value in our opinion. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Working very well. Thanks!

by:

It is a perfect replacement fan

by:

Not really happy with this product. Expensive fan that will not run for three minutes without turning itself off. Called the mfg , they said bad board they sent a replacement board , worked great for a week now it is back to turning itself off again!!! Not etrailers fault , just a sorry & expensive piece of junk. Wish i had bought the fantastic fan instead. How hard is it to build a 12 volt fan????

Still going strong!!!! Good product.

by:

Site could use one or two filters to help customers decide which unit to purchase. There is a large number to browse through. Purchase was easy. Unit properly described, shipping boxes were well packed. Unit installed easily, due to etrailer's how to install video. Happy with purchase and easy of installation. Will buy from etrailer again. Thank you.

Product is excellent! Multiple speeds adds to overall quality of product design.

by:

Super easy to install. I'm a total newbie! Took a while to do, but that's due to my "check and verify 3 times" approach! The etrailer videos for installing this item were SUPER helpful! So much more quiet than the old discontinued fan that came with my teardrop.

by:

Great product and I would recommend to anyone. The hardest part of the entire installation was removing sealant from the old vent and roof. A heat gun helped greatly with this. Don't forget to buy the needed sealants to install the new one.

I recommend a sealant such as part # 0160297.

by:

Installed it ourselves in our 5th wheel. We have 3 Maxx Fans in our 2016 Jayco Pinnacle and all have worked flawlessly. We also had the same fans in our 2001 Jayco Designer - an earlier version - no issues. Easy to install - as long as you can safely climb up on the roof - which I have done - to make sure the seal is done correctly to prevent water from entering the coach.

by:

My first review of this fan was less than glowing. We installed it in a class b motorhome , installing was a breeze , connected it to 12 volt circuit started up ran a few minutes then it turned off. Checked everything , turned back on same thing. Called tech support they said bad control board , sent me a new one , installed it. Same thing called them back , eric asked do you have LED lighting on that circuit? Rv owner had converted the lights to led lighting. Ran a seperate circuit for the fan & all is well , fan works great now!!! Took solving a mystery and lots of head scratching but we got it going and are happy with the fan and etrailer.

by:

High quality and no problem with installation. Replaced the OEM fan/vent in our 2017 Jayco JayFlight SLX 265RLSW. Certainly pulls more air through the camper than the stock unit with the tiny fan. Also installed the Maxxair FanMate cover and that was ultra simple, snap on the grill, place over the new vent and install the four clips. Installation instructions from Maxxair are clearly written and easy to follow. I like the ability to tow the camper with the vent open and the fan on so the camper is not hot as an oven when we arrive at the camp site. Etrailer.com shipping is quick and the fan and cover arrived in excellent condition as with everything I have ordered from them. The product description videos on their website are an added bonus.

by:

Product came very quickly, good packaging and in perfect working condition...called customer service and they responded immediately and helped with inqiry...very pleasant to work with.
The maxx fan was exactly as described easy to install and the electrical was super easy...it runs flawlessly is well constructed and looks amazing in the van...i converted cargo van to a camper and thus fan definitely helps keep the inside cool..i would definitely recommend not only this product but etrailer.com.

by:

Replaced the OEM bath exhaust fan on our 2016 Jayflight with this Maxxair Maxxfan Vent. Replacement was straightforward and instructions were clear. The fan is a great improvement over the factory installed fan and definitely moves the air out the rig.

by:

Good vent, good fan, works as promised. I installed a vent cover over it so I can leave it open without worrying about rain. All works well, but on my other motor home I've installed vents that are self-covering. More expensive, fewer parts. etrailer customer service is also good. Everything I've expected.

by:

Product is as described. Easy to install and works so much better that the fan that came stock in our new travel trailer. If I were to do it again I may have opted for the remote control. Didn't think about the kiddos not being able to reach the controls. Otherwise good so far. We will see how it does on our next trip!

by:

Much better air flow. Whisper quiet.

by:

I received the fan, promptly and boxed adequately.
I have not installed the unit in my trailer as of yet.
But, I unpackaged the fan then and it looks like it’s made well.
My only complaint is that it did not come with any butyl tape to install the unit my trailer. It had mounting screws and everything to mount it but I could not do that without the butyl tape. It would prove improve the sales for the item if it included this butyl tape.

by:

We love this thing! Super easy install. Super quiet

by:

Bought this fan as a replacement to the original 20 plus year old fan in my trailer. It was a wonderful upgrade to what was there originally. Very easy to install. I was able to do it myself, even though I do not like being on the trailer roof. Electrically it was very easy to install. Runs very smooth and super quite to what was there before.

by:

Shipping was exreamly fast. I replaced the stock 4 inch fan with this MaxxFan- roof vent- 12v-manual lift- 4 speed. The air now flows when the fan is on. It is super quite on lower speeds and moves large volumns of air on the higher speeds. Will make rving much more comfortable.
