This roof vent's powered, 12-volt fan and dome lift provide the ultimate in convenience for ventilating motor homes and enclosed trailers. Fan and wedge-shaped, plastic vent cover are operated from a remote wall switch, included.great. but didn't need two tubes of the sealant. One is more than sufficient for a 14 x 14 vent. 913816
Fits perfect & does the job. 912517
I"m sure I'll be happy with this product. I'm replacing one that for some reason lets the lid open on its own. There are two of these in my trailer and I had to repalce the first one under warranty just a few months after I bought it. But I really like both the power lid opening and the separate switch for the fan. I'd considered putting in a max fan but content with this for now. And very happy etrailer has these available. 584127

Received vent but Wall Switch was missing. Called and wall switch will be shipped at a later date 424298
The seal for the top to the base is not sufficient and requires bonding to almost stay in place. The seal on the old 1990 unit is still in good shape and will replace the seal supplied with the new unit. The etrailer support was great. 272797
Odering was easy, shipment was timely and the product was just as I expected. Works well and easy to install with the correct tools. 15964

We ordered these products to replace vent covers that were recently damaged in a hail storm. From the moment I placed the order, the staff at etrailer.com stayed in contact with me via email to let me know exactly when we could expect shipment. The vent covers were received in good order. 564618

Wasn't too bad to install. Everything worked as stated. I may have gone a little crazy with the self leveling sealant, but that's me. 666992

Received the Ventline Ventadome metal roof vent in good condition. After removing the old plastic roof vent, the new unit slipped right into the existing square hole with no trouble. See the "before" and "after" pictures. The old plastic roof vent only lasted a few years in Wyoming (the 2 X 5 blocks in the "before" picture were duck taped in place to prevent the plastic bag I stuffed in there from blowing away - a temporary fix while waiting for the new vent). I did not use the polyurethane adhesive between the roof and the vent flange. Everything deteriorates sooner or later especially in Wyoming. If I ever had to replace the vent it would be exceedingly difficult to remove it if stuck down with urethane adhesive. Instead I used ordinary putty (available at most hardware stores). In fact the old vent was sealed with putty. Since the putty layer is thicker than the urethane, I used 1" screws around the flange instead of the 3/4" screws supplied. A year from now I'll see how the vent has survived. 149815

Bought this to replace one that had a plastic lid chewed off by squirrels. It's an excellent product. Only complaint I have is that the interior trim ring is made for a much thicker roof than on my trailer. I could have cut it down but luckily the ring for the vent I was replacing fit perfectly. etrailer.com sells shorter depth trim rings but it would be better to not have to spend the extra money and allow selection of trim ring size when ordering. This was the only reason I didn’t give an excellent rating. 167829

This product was purchased to replace an old vent that broke. The vent showed up on the front steps. I open the box and found the corner to be bent up. I needed to fix the hole in the roof A.S.A.P., so I bent the corner back to avoid going through a return. Over all I'm happy with the vent, but not thrilled about it being bent. 95459

Arrived in good shape and we were pleased with the quality of this unit. The biggest challenge, of course, is removing the old skylight and all the sealant, but once that was accomplished the installation went forward without any trouble. We like the metal cover because the last two plastic covers have disintegrated after a number of years. 647829

installed on aluminum A.R.E. DCU truck cap. Did not use the screw or caulk tape kit since the screws were far to long and the caulking is for rubber roofs. As it is, the smallest screws I found in size #8 were 1/2" long. THe trim piece might be nice but it also reduces the head room in the space. i elected to not use it for that reason. THe metal vent cover is what i wanted, though I wish they had smoothed the covers edge; it is sharp for the installer. But once installed it wont be an issue. The screen is okay, but doesn't seem to completely cover the openings along the edge. If this was a concern, maybe a bit of 1/4" wide foam, backed with tape would make up the difference. I prefer this type vent assy. with the round knob instead of the crank. A cardboard template would have been helpful, but obviously not necessary. With luck it will last half as long as the truck cap ... we'll see. 550100

received today. since there are no broken parts (plastic) I will just bend everything back in place. there was no packing in the box and the product comes in contact with the side of the box the conveyor bent the edges that screw to the roof. both covers were damaged in the same way. there is 4" for the product to move in the cardboard box no wonder that the plastic survived the trip. some on up there is looking out for etrailer and me. no screws to fasten it to the roof and no mastic to seal but what do you expect. I will buy another when this one rusts out. got to be better than the plastic covers which last about 3 years. 581253

The metal cap was the right size to replace the old plastic cap however the frame was not. A little Mcgiver ingenuity I was able to get top in using old parts. This trailer was in the boonies and this year I will have to take apart and cut new frame to use the new frame that came with metal top. 572415

I installed this vent on the roof of my 1986 Samurai. I usually have a couple of bird dogs in the back and the additional ventilation for them gives me peace of mind in hot weather. Keith 385787

I bought this vent because it was low profile ,metal, manual operation and made in the USA. It was easier to install than I thought it would be ; because of the contours in the cap. No problem. The flange was wide enough and the gauge thick enough to make the contour perfectly. I used 100% clear silicone to make the seal.I'll paint it as soon as temperatures get back to normal. I highly recommend this unit. 275475

I was a bit disappointed with this. It appears well made, but the material is thin and the fan is too small to be really effective. I think I'll return it and pay more for a better one. I like simple, but in this case it looks like I'll have to get more bells and whistles to get a more robust unit 940602

Just what I was needing, a metal roof vent. With the Texas sun and heat, plastic doesn't last long. The garnish leg may be a little wide, but its a horse trailer, and no one will see it except my wife and I. I may try to cut it down a quarter to a half inch, but hopefully I can install it this weekend if the weather is nice. Prompt service and fast shipping!!! 940368
