Everything you need for extra hauling space is in one system. This setup includes 2 JetStream crossbars, 4 BaseLine towers, and a custom fit kit. Each crossbar measures 60" long x 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/8" tall, giving you solid support with room for multiple carriers. With a weight capacity of 165 lbs, the aluminum construction offers strength without adding bulk. It’s ready to handle kayaks, cargo boxes, or any gear you want to bring along.

Push-down rubber strips in the top channels close around your mounted hardware, sealing gaps that can cause whistling or vibration. Some racks make you trim rubber pieces before installing your gear. These don’t. The push-down rubber strips let you press your accessory mounts directly into the channel, no cutting required. Once installed, the strips sit back in place around your hardware to block wind and keep things neat and secure. It’s a small detail that makes setup fast and frustration-free.
You can protect your rack investment by adding Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores (sold separately). They secure the BaseLine towers so your setup stays right where you left it—whether you’re parked at a trailhead or stopping overnight on a road trip. Did not get to mount anything to it but seems really sturdy. One thing I can say is mark out your mounting points with provided stickers then put up and make adjustments to the roof rack.

Your notice of schemes was a lot better than the yakima site provided. They did not suggest the scheme you did.
But when the products arrived, the instructions were by yakima. Generally worked as instructed except the tower to tower transverse mounting dimensions needed to be tweaked for a perfect fit.

Easy to install and sturdy. I carry a 9' pontoon boat on my camper shell using this rack at freeway speeds with no problems.
So far so good. Purchased these towers to use on a 2022 GMC Canyon with HD bars that I already had, primarily to carry my canoe. Yakima's fitting instructions worked perfectly and the whole system seems really solid.
We had to wait on stock a little longer than expected BUT etrailer kept me informed of the progress. Once I received the products installation was a breeze thanks to the instructional videos.
Easy to install thanks to the etrailer video. I have used the rack system on many long distance trips including driving from South Carolina to Yellowstone.
Work exactly as they should and hold everything securely to my vehicle without interfering with the car’s normal operation. etrailer had best prices based on my research. These bars are much quieter than traditional round bars and worth the added expense.
Excellent solution for my 2023 Chevy Silverado. In the past, I have had rails installed on the roof of my pickup trucks, but I find the BaseLine towers to be a better solution, since they don't permanently change the truck. Plus, they are much more solid than SkyLine system on the rails.

Overall these are a great product and much needed. I had a Tiguan with the side rails but needed cross rails for my gear. When I got my Jetta I wanted to keep my Yakima cross rails so I needed the Towers. They work great and fit my car well. I took them off recently after having them on for a year for re-fitment.

For those also buying crossbars for cars without roof rails, recommend taking a silver sharpie and marking the placement of the crossbars on the weather seal at the top of the door openings. Makes putting them back on way less of a hassle if you don’t want them on 24/7.
