This disc brake lock will deter most thieves looking to make a quick snag. Just slip it over your motorcycle's disc brake and push the button to lock it.
Start by taking a look at your disc brake. Does it have slots or holes in it, or is it solid?
If it has slots or holes, then you have a vented disc. Measure from the edge of the rotor to the edge of one of the slots. Then measure the slot. You'll need a lock with a locking pin small enough to fit through the slot and a throat long enough to clear the section of your rotor you measured.
If your rotor is solid, measure the overall width. The lock you buy will need to to have a throat long enough that the entire thing can fit around your rotor with the locking pin securing inside the disc instead of through a slot.
Installing this lock on your bike is quick and easy.
1. Slip the reminder cable into the channel of the lock.
2. Slide the lock over your bike's brake disc and press the button down to lock the unit. If you have a vented disc and the slots are smaller than the lock pin, you can set the pin through one of the slots. Otherwise, you'll have to make sure the locking pin clears your disc to lock.
3. Loop the reminder cable around your handlebar. The bright orange cable lets potential thieves know your bike is protected, and it will serve as a good reminder to remove the lock before you ride. If you don't remove the lock before riding, you could potentially break your wheel, so don't forget to remove it!

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a look at this Trimax Chrome Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock. This disc brake lock is going to help prevent rollaway theft of your motorcycle, and the lock attaches to your motorcycle's brake rotor and a bright orange cord is going to attach to your handlebars to remind you to remove the lock before riding. So just giving you a brief demonstration of how easy this is to use. I do wanna point out that this does have this nice flip cap that will securely close over the lock here. So you're not gonna have to worry about any debris or anything getting into that keyhole to mess it up or prevent the key from going in.
So I'm gonna use one of the three keys here just to insert it into the keyhole and then unlock it. And then once it's unlocked you can turn and then remove the key. And I'm glad that it comes with this cable. I could easily see myself trying to drive away on my motorcycle and forgetting that I had that lock on my disc brake of my motorcycle. So this cord's gonna be very easy to use.
You just attach one loop onto the bike lock itself right before you lock this onto your disc. And then the other end you will attach to your handlebars on your bike. So this has quite a bit of length, so that's going to be able to make the trip to your handlebar, and then you're gonna have that on your handlebar when you are getting ready to take off reminding you, "Hey, you need to take this lock off so you don't damage your wheel." So once you have that cord on, and once you have this lined up on your disc, on your motorcycle, then you just simply push down this button and I'm not going to do it all the way just yet. I just wanted to show you that pin diameter is 3/8 of an inch. So once you have that lined up on that hole, then you just push this all the way down.
And then it's as simple as that it's going to lock into place. And then just flip the cap closed and you are locked and secured. This hardened steel disc lock is going to resist cutting, sawing, and chisel attacks and the anti-drill lock core prevents theft and tampering. Now, get my ruler here, give me some overall measurements so you can be sure this is going to work for you. The overall length, and I'm trying to line this up here, from the longest point, it looks like we're sitting pretty close to 4 inches.
I'm gonna call it at about 3 and 7/8 inches long. And then the width we are sitting right at about an inch, about 1 and 1/8 inches on the width, and then the height, and this is the tallest point here, we are sitting right at 2 and 5/8 inches tall. And I mentioned that that pin diameter is 3/8 of an inch. This includes everything that you see here on the table before me. It includes this hardened steel chrome disc lock. And it comes with this carrying case which is nice because when you're ready to take off, you can just throw this lock in this case and maybe put it in a storage compartment on your bike or throw it in your bag. And that's gonna keep that lock from rattling around in your compartment or in your bag. Has this strap here as well. If you could strap it to a bag or something like that. So that's a nice feature. And then you're going to get three keys. And one of these keys is a mini flashlight as you can see there. So maybe you could use this one as your main key and then stash these other two in a secure place in case you lose this key. So I'm glad they include three keys. So you're not gonna have to worry about easily losing one. You'll have a few others for backup. And again, this cord is included as well. Now, again, this is in chrome. If this is a finish, that you're not too crazy about the good news is we do also have this same lock in yellow and I am including our item number to the yellow version of this on your screen. Just take that item number and put it in the search field of our website here at etrailer.com. And that item number will take you to the yellow version of this lock. Overall, it has a good weight to it. It feels like it's heavy duty. It feels like it's relatively robust. It doesn't really rattle or anything. It doesn't have a cheap feeling to it. So I think it's going to do a great job for you if this meets the specs that you are looking for. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
