Recommended Roof Rack for a 2022 Ford Escape w/ a Naked Roof and Two Hullavators

You don't need 70" crossbars if you go with a different roof rack system which I highly recommend. Mounting two Hullavators item # TH898 is feasible and you will most likely be breaking the law if you stick a 70" wide crossbar on your Escape's roof.

For your 2022 Ford Escape with a naked roof, I recommend the roof rack by Rhino-Rack and it includes the following parts:

You need a minimum of 60" to mount two Hullavators item # TH898 and the lift assist feature also requires an extra 4" - 8" past the legs to fully function. The standard length bars for your Escape are the 54" item # RRVA137B-2. The 65" ones I recommended will give you the extra length required.

This roof rack system has a maximum capacity of 165 lbs so you will want to make sure you don't exceed it. That's the standard capacity for roof racks without rails so their isn't a heavier duty option. It looks like your Bonafide ex123 kayaks weigh under 60 lbs so with two Hullavtor's you should be pretty close to the 165 lbs capacity.

If you're set on a Yakima system here are the parts you will need to mount two Hullavators. If your crossbars stick out past your rear view mirrors you can get a ticket.
