Jay Low Fit

Side-Loading, J-Style Carrier

Jay Low Kayak Carrier

This Yakima J-style kayak carrier can be adjusted to hold 1 or 2 boats on your roof rack. The space-saving design holds your boats on their sides to free up roof rack space, and built-in ramps make it easy to load from the side of your vehicle. The lightweight, rust-resistant aluminum rack includes tie-downs for securing 1 kayak. The padded cradles protect your kayaks during transport, and the upright arms fold down when you're not using the carrier.

Adjustable Upright Arms and Built-in Ramps

Jay Lo Ramp

When you're ready to go on the road, lift your kayak up and onto these J-style cradles. The integrated ramps will help guide your boat as you load it from the side of your vehicle.

Yakima Jay Low Arm

Each cradle has an integrated cam lever that allows you to adjust the upright arm. Simply release the lever, rotate the arm to the desired position, and close the lever. These levers allow you to move the upright arms from the J-style position to the vertical position, and they allow you to fold the arms down for storage when the carrier is not in use.

Jay Low Kayak Carrier

This carrier holds 1 kayak in the J-style position. To carry 2 kayaks, just move the upright arms from the J-style position into the vertical position. In this configuration, one kayak will rest directly on your crossbars.

Foam padding on the arms and rubber on the base helps to cushion your watercraft during transport and also protects the hull from scratches and scuffs. Grooves in the base help grip your boat.

Tie-Down Straps

Yakima Jay Low Tie Downs

Two nylon tie-downs are included to secure 1 kayak to your roof rack crossbars. Loop these straps through your crossbars, around the hull of your boat, and through the arms. The straps have cam buckles that let you tighten the straps and secure your boat. The cam buckles are rubber coated to prevent damage to your kayak or vehicle when you're using the straps.

Yakima Jay Low Bow Stern

Two bow/stern tie-down straps with stainless steel hooks let you anchor your boat to the front and rear of your vehicle. Tying down your boat's bow and stern helps to prevent the boat from shifting forward or backward during transport. And ratchet pulleys allow you to easily adjust the tension of the straps to ensure the boat is secure on your roof. A protective sleeve on each strap helps protect your bumper from scratches and friction damage.

You will need additional tie-down straps and bow/stern tie-downs (sold separately) to secure a second boat to your roof rack and to your vehicle.

Tool-Free Installation

Yakima Jay Low Mounted

The mounting clamps on these cradles fit most crossbar configurations without the adapters. To install, simply place the cradles on your crossbars and turn the integrated handles until the mounting clamps are tightly secured. If you have round crossbars, the included adapters will provide a secure fit, preventing the cradles from twisting or sliding on the bars.

Jay Low Lock Core Location

Each cradle has a removable plug that you can replace with a Yakima Same Key System (SKS) core (sold separately) so you can lock the system to your roof rack. Yakima's SKS cores can be swapped out to make all your Yakima locks keyed alike.

Video Transcript for Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima JayLow J-Style Kayak Carrier, part number Y04073. The Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier is going to allow us to transport one or two kayaks on the roof of our vehicle safely. It uses a universal clamp, which is going to fit around most factory roof rack systems, including your round, square, arrow, elliptical. We've got it around the Yakima round bars here today, using the included adapters. As you can see, it provides a nice tight fit. It features built-in ramps here on the front to make it easier for loading our kayak and, once we get up in there, we've got a nice padded base with grooves built in so our kayak doesn't slide around. Here at the top of our JayLow mounts, are completely adjustable. We've got it in the upright position for two kayaks.

We've got one on this side and one on this side. Completely adjustable. We can lean it back for just a single kayak. We can also fold it down for storage when not in use. For extra security, the JayLow also features a spot where you can put a locking core in. It's in the same spot on both JayLows.

You can find those on our website at etrailer.com, part number Y07202. From the bottom of our mount almost to the top provides good cushion for our kayak so it won't slide around as well. Now that we've gone over some of the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to install it. First thing we'll do is we'll grab our round bar adapters for our Yakima round bars here. We'll open them up, put it around the bar. We'll want to make sure that the grooved portion is facing up.

Let's go ahead and grab another one and place that one around the bar as well. We'll grab our JayLow. Let's go ahead and unlock it, pulling on this red handle here. We'll raise it up and lock it back in place. The reason why we want to do that is so we can free up our knobs here. We couldn't spin them all the way with it laying down. Let's go ahead and place it over our adapters.

Now let's go ahead and tighten these down. We don't want to tighten them all the way down just yet, just to where it slightly grabs the bar. That way we can still move them as needed. Now that we've got that tightened down a little bit, let's go ahead and pull it all the way forward. I'm going to favor this side of the vehicle. That way we can make good use out of our little ramp here. It's going to make it easier to load up the kayak. With that being done and it all the way up against the foot pack here, let's go ahead and tighten it down all the way. Now that this one's installed, let's go ahead and do the rear one. Let's tighten down our second one here. If you look in closely, as I'm tightening you'll notice how the clamp is going around our adapter, and that's how you want it to be. We'll also want to make sure that our JayLow is all the way up against our foot pack, the same as the other one. That way we know they're both even. Now that we've got them installed, let's go ahead and load up two kayaks. As you can see, I've got it in the upright position, which is going to be straight up. That's going to make it possible to load up two kayaks. We'll grab our kayak and we're going to lean it up against the ramps of the two JayLows. That way we can simply just push it up until it seats nicely in the grooves, just like that. Once we get it in the grooves, we'll want to hop up there and make any small adjustments that we may need. That way it sits nicely up against the mounts on the other side. Before we grab our other kayak, we'll need to make sure and strap this one in first. Yakima has included a few straps, want to make sure and grab the one with the rubberized cinch. We'll undo that. We'll take the end without the cinch, we'll go ahead and drape that over our kayak. Then we'll run over to the other side and I'll show you how that loops in. Here on the back side we'll grab the strap, we're going to go on the inside just like that and then we'll just toss that back over. We can pull that down a little bit just to raise up our cinch, then we'll grab the strap again, we'll go underneath our roof rack between the foot pack there, just like that, and we'll get the slack out of that. Then I'm going to feed this through the cinch and pull it nice and tight, n the meantime checking my strap to make sure it still goes around my foot pack. We'll pull that nice and tight and then we can tie up our excess. Now let's repeat that same step on the front side. With that kayak in place, let's go ahead and grab our other kayak. For loading up our second kayak, it's a good idea to get a second set of hands, being as we'll be stretching over the top of the vehicle a little bit. For tying down our second kayak, we'll need another set of straps. The part number we are using today is Y05006. For running our straps on this side, we're going to do something very similar as we did before. We're going to come up over the kayak with it in this position, go around our mounts on top and bring it back through, and back over the kayak. This is going to make it way easier for when we lift up the kayak and put it into position. Now let's do that same thing with the other strap. With both straps in position, let's go ahead and tilt up our kayak and put it up against our JayLows. Once we get it up in this position we'll want to make sure that the weight is distributed between both sides of the vehicle and then we can go ahead and finish tying down our kayak. Once again we'll grab the strap without the cinch and we'll go underneath the kayak and I'll meet you on the other side so I can show you how I did that. Now on the inside where our two kayaks are, we'll grab our strap. We'll make sure it goes underneath our roof rack. Then we're going to go up around the JayLow on the front side and then back through, just like that. You'll want to make sure to go around the JayLow and in between the JayLow and the lever, because we don't want to pull the lever out. It'll come loose. With that being said, we'll put the strap back over to the side we started on and we'll run that through our cinch and tighten that down. Now let's go ahead and pull on our strap just to kind of even things up and to get our cinch up here. That looks good. Now let's run that through and pull it nice and tight. Then we can tie up our excess strap and repeat that same step on the other side. With both of our kayaks tied in place around the JayLows, we can then go ahead and tie down the bow and the stern. Yakima has included one set. You'll need another set for the second kayak and that's going to be part number Y04031. We'll take the cinched end of the strap first, the one with the loop, we're going to pull that around our handle up here and then take the longer portion of the strap. We'll make sure that the plastic part is at the very end, where we're going to hook it to under our vehicle. We'll need this, we'll go up through here, pull that down. Once we have that secure, we'll bring our strap down to the front of our vehicle. Going to bring my strap down. You want to attach this underneath the vehicle to a fixed anchor point. We'll slide the plastic pad up and you want that to make good contact with the vehicle so we don't make any scratches. With that being done, we'll grab our included hook, pull that over, then, for this particular vehicle, I'm going to go through the bumper and attach it to my anchor point underneath, just like that. Then we can come up and pull on our cinch strap to tighten that down. Now we'll pull on that just a little bit and then I'm going to come back down here and check my plastic pad and kind of put that in position to where I know it's going to make good contact with my vehicle. That looks pretty good. Let's go ahead and tighten that down. Now we can tie up our excess strap and then move on to the rear of the vehicle. Same thing as in the front, we're going to bring our loop over. Then we'll grab our longer portion of the strap, bring that up through, and we'll grab our hook and we'll attach that at the bottom. To make it simple, we can just attach it to our hitch here. Once that's done, we'll go ahead and pull it nice and tight, once again moving the pad where we need it to be. We'll tie up our excess strap and then we'll repeat the same process with our other kayak. Now with our two kayaks all loaded up, we're almost ready to hit the road and we've still got enough room to throw up any other Yakima accessories. Here on our test course, let's go into our slalom first. This is going to show side to side action, such as going around corners or evasive maneuvering. Then onto our alternating speed bumps. This is going to show a twisting action, such as going over potholes or uneven pavement. Then finally on to our solid speed bumps. This is going to show an up and down action, such as coming in and out of a driveway or out of a parking garage. That's going to complete our look at the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier, part number Y04073. .

I already owned this product and purchased another rack at etrailer to hold another kayak. Was shipped quickly to my residence. 661640

Great product and Sales Support from etrailer. I bought this for my Son as a Grad/BDay gift for a Honda HR-V which has slightly odd roof/door shape He installed it himself said the install was straightforward but the instructions could use a little improvement. etrailer Sales Support was great, I was a little concerned about getting the right parts and the return policy. Olivia was great to work with, she offered recommendations and matched the parts to the type and vehicle it was to be installed on along with a kayak mount. All the parts arrived in mint condition with no missing pieces. I'll for sure return to etrailer on future purchases. 666101

Needed carriers to haul my old 17 foot P&H Icefloe. Yakima J-low carriers were easily installed and are good fit for my '04 Toyota Highlander. I really dig the low ramp as I dont have to lift the boat as high to get it on the carrier. 269481

It whistles. I would absolutely love this carrier if it didn't. I have two of these each on my 2009 and 2013 Subaru Outbacks. These carriers whistle like a bastard from 30 miles an hour up to 50 or 60, and loudly. I regret buying them for that reason. I have had other carriers that don't whistle. When the boats are on they don't whistle, and I think I've gotten used to the sound whether in the lowered position or the up doesn't matter. The whistling honestly ruins my review. Other than that fact, I love the carriers. They are durable, cushioned for my carbon boats, the non skid rubber keeps them from moving around, the plastic angled slide makes it easy to slide the boats up into the cradle, the super simple fold down makes it easy to go through the car wash, and I bought the Yakima lock system which gives me peace of mind on my roof racks. I am getting used to the sound and it doesn't register much any more, but I would choose something else next time, though these will probably last a long time for me. 629629

This is my second set as I bought a second kayak. I bought the first set about a year ago. The first set has been easy to use with my Thule aero cross bars. The kayak was easy to load and tie down with just myself. 387363

the product was great but the roof rack, unfortunately, slid around due to the friction-only mounting on my Honda Fit. We almost lost our kayak due to that. But there was no problem with the yy04073 644616

These are so easy to install! I've used with one boat and two. They work great. I bought a second set because it's tough reaching over the truck to secure the second kayak. I bought the locks for them, because of how easy they are to get on and off. 419430

The JayLow kayak carrier is easy to install and does the job nicely. Great, on-time, no hassle service from etrailer. Better than that other online site! 543208

They work great, easy to get kayak on and off, easy to tie down kayak, etc. My only complaint would be that the cranks are a bit hard to use. First, you simply have to do a lot of winding to get these on and off -- I suppose this makes them more secure but they can be awkward to reach. Could the cranks be reversible? Second, if the top of the rack is folded down, it can interfere with access to the handle of the crank. But, we use them a lot and are generally happy. 438993

I really like these kayak racks. They come fully assembled, and they installed easily on the aero crossbars of the factory roof rack on my 2015 Toyota Tacoma. The "ramps" on the front really do help in loading the kayaks, because you don't have to lift the kayak up as high. I opted to get two sets for our two kayaks, rather than try to transport two with one set of racks, because it seemed like it would be much easier to load. I agree with some other reviewers that the directions are a little cryptic, but the installation process is pretty self-evident. I also agree that the provided S hooks are a bit small (I'm going to replace them with carabiners), but these are minor issues. Overall, the racks are very sturdy, and I like the fold down feature. I also got the locks (not available for many of the Thule racks) because it seems like a small investment to protect the larger investment. My wife and I took our kayaks to a lake today using the new racks, and had no problems loading, unloading, or tying them down. Loading is a two-person job, however, at least for us and our 12-foot boats on a pick-up truck. We carry a folding two-step stepladder to make the reach easier. These racks are well worth the cost, and I would certainly recommend them to my fellow kayakers. And great service from etrailer, as always. 279975

This was my second large order from Etrailer.com and my wife I are VERY pleased! Our first order was a Curt 5th wheel hitch which performed as advertised - so easy to use. Now we haul our 5th wheel camper and that takes up my entire full sized F250 truck bed which in turn messed up hauling the kayaks back there. I was leaning toward rigging something up on the back of the camper, saw lots of posts on how to many looked very sketchy. Rather than risk dumping our two $$$ fishing kayaks onto the highway.... somewhere..... we bought this GREAT Yakima roof rack system for the TOP of my truck cab. You see, it made me uneasy that I wouldn't be able to keep an eye on our boats if strapped to the back AND we read about many horror stories not limited to the rear bumper falling off from fatigue. Yakima Install; I'm a General Contractor and fancy myself a pretty handy guy so mounting the towers, the rack bars, and all of the accessories onto those took a total three hours. [on-line] videos very useful and follow the easy to read instructions that come with each part and you'll have NO trouble. I have to add, etrailer said it would take one week but I received the complete order within four days. Thank you etrailer for making the ordering through delivery experience so very streamlined! 529290

I originally purchased just one set for two kayaks, as Yakima rates these for one or two kayaks. After the first trip, I purchased a second set. Using just one set for two kayaks was a pain, plus you need to have extra straps on hand (thankfully I did). It's soooo much easier just to mount each kayak in their own cradle, and use the appropriate straps, which come with the rack. Product looks and works great. Install and mounting instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I also purchased the lock sets that go with the Yakima roof rack products. Only bad part, is a whistle sound that appeared after installation. I now just leave the racks in the up/open position, and it seems to be help. 517025

What I like about the Jaylow is the versatility. I researched these carriers and talked to a couple friends before deciding what to get. We have two kayaks, but mostly go alone, flatwater. If you do get one, I recommend getting the SKS Key Lock Cores so it can be locked to your vehicle rails. Same key locks both Jaylow units. 444924

Product meets expectations. Now I understand what other reviewers said about instructions. It took a while to figure out how the handle pulls out to adjust the rack and that it does not spin. It just flips. Otherwise, the instructions and videos on instalation were fine. 385950

Careful if it is windy - We took our Kayaks up the 395 from Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe and back. On the way back we hit wind gusts from the side and it ripped the factory Jeep rails right out of the roof. Because of the straps provided from the boats to the front and rear bumper they did not blow off the car entirely. It seems like the boats on their edge just catches too much wind if it comes from the side. From now on we just put the boats basically flat on the Yakima racks and that seems to work well. You have to be careful when you tie them down but I think it would have saved a $3000 repair bill to fix our roof.

These work great. I went ahead and picked two sets for our two kayaks rather than try to wrestle two kayaks down to a single set. Comes with all needed straps, hooks, etc. Makes loading and unloading so simple. Being able to fold down the uprights when not in use is nice to reduce the clearance height of the overall vehicle for entering / exiting garages etc. The are a bit noisy with whistling sounds due to wind when in the empty and folded down position between 40 and 60 mph. This is well documented in other forums and reviews also. Not a deal killer, but loud enough to want to leave the sunroof closed. Note that the deflector shield does not help with this on my vehicle application. 462349

This is mostly a great boat rack. I have an 11' kayak and the rack carries it nicely under most conditions. I upgraded my set to include the locking device, and I highly recommend it. My one gripe with this setup is that sitting a boat on its edge presents a big face to the wind, which can be very problematic with the wind gusts get high. It can, in fact, get very scary. I recently took a long road trip in the SW, and found myself crossing the highway that runs along Hoover Dam. There are permanent wind warning signs posted there, and the day I went across, the gusts were howling. I drive a Honda Element, which already has a high profile, and I seriously thought I was going to get blown off the road. I ended up taking the first exit I got to and, in that howling wind, had to pull my kayak down, remove the j-rack, and strap my boat to the crossbars, top down, to reduce the profile. I could have done that without spending the money for this rack... 391901

Yakima JayLow Watersport Carrier; I found the carrier to perform as advertised, no surprises. Installation was simple and it easily attached to the factory roof rack on my 2009 Toyota Rav 4. The 45 degree angle on the lower edge of the carrier, enabled us to slide the leading side of our kayaks into the cradle with less effort. Small issue; It took several attempts to find the best position in which to secure the adjustable brackets, (to reduce wind noise), when not in use. 720758

This is a nice quality rack with all of the required straps and adapters included in one kit. The only issue I have with this model is that it does not firmly fit my Malone aero style crossbars and "leans" to the rear when mounted. I doubt it will come off when snug on the cross bars but it does leaves a sloppy appearance. It also will not "straddle" the cross bar feet as shown in the mounting instructions and diagrams so both of my kayaks are left toward the middle of the roof and difficult to reach for stow and go. 567556

Theses have been great and the down style when not in use means I can park my jeep in the garage without removing them from the bars. They have help up well and I have only removed them during the winter season otherwise it stays on the roof top.

The Yakima JayLow, part # Y04073, is a great J-style carrier that fits the factory crossbars on your 2018 Subaru Outback. All of the tie-downs are included. I like the JayLow because it can be folded down when you're not using it and it can also be adapted to carry two kayaks if you ever need it. To help reach the roof easier when loading and unloading the kayaks I recommend using a small step stool, # CAM43672, which you can store in the vehicle for when it is needed. While there are...

  • Can A J-Style Kayak Carrier Be Attached To A Yakima Warrior Cargo Basket
Yes, you can attach a j-style kayak carrier like the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier part # Y04073 directly to any of the Yakima LoadWarrior like part # Y07070 or Yakima MegaWarrior part # Y07080 roof rack cargo baskets on your 2018 Subaru Outback. If you like you can add the Replacement Movable Bar part # Y8870046 for the MegaWarriors or part # 8870042 for the LoadWarriors but otherwise you can just use the front and rear bar on the actual basket unless they are too far apart.

  • Lock Core Kit Recommendation for Use with Yakima Jaylow Kayak Carrier
Any SKS lock core would technically fit the Yakima Jaylow Kayak Carrier part # Y04073 but we have a kit that comes with two cores that would work well as the part # Y07202. This will give you a pair of cores that match but aren't going to be the same pair every person would get if they ordered it.

  • Carrying a Kayak on a 2017 Toyota RAV4 with a Factory Roof Rack
You have a great range of options with the 2017 Toyota RAV4's factory roof rack. You'll want to ensure that the weight of the carrier plus the weight of the kayak. My research shows that your RAV4 is rated for 100 pounds on its roof, though you'll want to verify with your owner's manual the exacts of your configuration. For a carrier, I recommend the Yakima JayLow, part # Y04073. This carrier includes small side ramps to assist with loading the kayak onto the vehicle, and also folds...

  • How to Carry 2 Kayaks on the Roof of a 2014 Nissan Xterra
The Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier part # Y04073 is the only j-style kayak carrier we have confirmed to fit the factory crossbars on your 2014 Nissan Xterra. However, with the Yakima JayLow you will not need to purchase two sets in order to carry two kayaks. If you take a look at the attached review video. If the arms are used in the vertical position you can easily carry two kayaks without having to purchase another set.

To carry two 10 foot kayaks on the roof rack of your 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser the Yakima JayLow, part # Y04073, is a great option. The JayLow holds the kayaks on their sides. It includes straps to secure them to the FJ's cross bars as well as at the bow and stern. Also add part # Y04031 for the straps to secure the second kayak.

  • Recommended Kayak Carrier for 2 Inch Round Bar Roof Rack
The Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading # Y04073 most likely will not work with almost 2 inch diameter bars. The standard round bars on a roof rack are 1-1/8 inches diameter. The JayLow can fit bars 1-11/16 inches tall so if they are that diameter or under it would fit but any larger would not. If you use a carrier like the Malone J-Pro Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - J-Style - Fixed Arms - Clamp On # MPG116MD you could make it work with some...

  • Can 2 J-Style Kayak Carriers be Used to Carry Kayaks on 48 Inch Long Thule Crossbars
Yes, you can use 2 J-style kayak carriers on your 48 inch long Thule crossbars. I recommend the Yakima JayLow, # Y04073. It is compatible with your Thule roof rack and has an 80 pound capacity. The center to center distance between the crossbars will have to be at least 24 inches to safely carry a kayak or kayaks. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier for you. Also you will need to consult the vehicle owners manual and/or a relevant dealership for the roof weight capacity...

  • Multi Kayak Carrier for 2019 Subaru Outback
I recommend the Thule Stacker multi-kayak carrier # TH830 since it can handle up to 4 kayaks. It will fit on just about any type of roof rack crossbar -round, square, elliptical and your Subaru factory bars too- as long as they are at least 24-inches apart which is important for stability. This carrier can be used for kayaks up to 10-feet long. If your kayaks are not compatible please tell me a bit about them so I can suggest a suitable alternative. Another similar carrier is the Rhino-Rack...

  • Recommendation for Transporting 2 Kayaks on 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon with Factory Roof Rack
The Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier # Y04073 referenced in your question will work great for transporting your kayaks as long as the factory crossbars on your Subaru Outback Wagon are not wider than 3-1/2 inches or taller than 1-11/16 inches. There should also be a minimum crossbar spread (distance between the two crossbars) of 24 inches. You will have no issue mounting both of your kayaks with this system. You can actually safely secure both of your kayaks using just one of these systems,...

  • Will Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier Fit on Factory Crossbars of 2016 Subaru Crosstrek?
I checked with Yakima and the JayLow Kayak Carrier # Y04073 is a fit for the factory crossbars on your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. They will need to be configured in the post-style as opposed to the J-style for two kayaks, and this is going to be perfectly safe for highway travel so long as you have the kayaks adequately tied down. If you wanted to stick with the J-style you would be able to, but would need to get two of the JayLow carriers. For a pair of kayaks (and just one carrier) you...

  • Fitting Two Yakima JayLow Kayak Carriers and Roof Mounted Fly Rod Carrier on Roof of 2007 Saturn Vue
Each of the Yakima # Y04073 JayLow kayak carriers would take up about 18 inches of space on the crossbar. Since the fly rod carrier you referenced is about 11 inches wide, you should have more than enough room on your Yakima 66 inch round roof rack crossbars. According to Yakima, your roof rack has a 100 lb capacity, so you'll want to make sure the weight of the kayaks, the approximate 20 lb weight of both JayLow carriers and the fly rod vault and its contents don't exceed the 100 lb roof...

To purchase matching Yakima SKS lock cores to lock the JayLow kayak carrier, part # Y04073, to a Yakima roof rack pull one of the cores you currently have now out and read the number on the side of the core. Then find the Yakima core using part # Y8771-XXXX where the X's are the number on your core. For example if you have core number A148 then use part # Y8771-A148. You'll need two cores for the JayLow carrier. To remove the lock core from your current rack use the control key,...

  • J Style Kayak Carrier Recommendation for a Yakima Round Bar Roof Rack
I can't recommend you drill through your Yakima round bars to pin the Sportrack J-Kayak Carrier # SR5511 to it. Instead I would recommend a Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier # Y04073 which was specifically designed to fit Yakima round bars and would work well for you. The rack can fold down when not in use as well which is nice. Check out the review video I attached for more info as well.

  • Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2007 Toyota Highlander with Factory Crossbars
The Yakima Jaylow part # Y04073 would be a perfect fit for your application. It is a confirmed fit for your 2007 Toyota Highlander with factory crossbars and can carry up to 2 kayaks. With one kayak you can use it as a J-style kayak, or if you want to carry 2 you can adjust the back of the carrier to be vertical and then carry 2 stacked on their sides.

I checked with Yakima and the JayLow kayak rack part # Y04073 that you referenced is a confirmed fit for the factory crossbars of your 2012 Chevy Equinox. The carrier wouldn't take up too much room either on your crossbars so you'd pretty easily be able to fit two of these carriers on your factory crossbars.

Check out the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # S510. This rack has a 99 lb capacity and can fit virtually any cross bar style. I attached a review video for more info. For your 2 kayaks, the J-style carrier will hold your kayaks a little better than the post style. Out of the options you listed, the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading # Y04073 will give the best support to one kayak per carrier, but all options will give good support for 2 kayaks. • Kayak Carrier Recommendation for Toyota RAV4 with Factory Roof Rack
When it comes to a kayak carrier, I personally like the Rhino-Rack Nautic Roof Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs, # RR571. This carrier allows one person to easily load a kayak from the rear of the vehicle. If at some point you plan on carrying more than just one kayak on your roof, I would recommend going with Yakima's JayLow Kayak Carrier, # Y04073. It is completely compatible with the crossbar size of the Rola Sport Rack as well as the distance between the two when it's installed on your vehicle. • J-Style Kayak Carrier that Can Fit Factory Crossbars of 2007 Chrysler Pacifica
I have a great solution for you, but Yakima does not have any kayak carriers that are a confirmed fit for the factory crossbars of your 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. Instead you'd want the Thule Compass part # TH890000 which is a confirmed fit for the factory crossbars of your vehicle and is a very similar J-style carrier that can carry two kayaks at a time if needed. To add locks to this you'll want the part # TH450200.

I may have an option for you, but you will most likely not be able to fit two kayaks with J-style kayak carriers and the Evolution 1800 cargo box on 48 inch or 60 inch crossbars. Instead, I recommend looking at the Yakima Kayak JayLow, # Y04073. The JayLow can stack the kayaks on their sides giving you more room for the cargo box. Provided that the combined weight of the kayaks does not exceed 110 pounds this carrier is a great option. I have linked a video review of it for you. It's not the only carrier that works this way but it has a higher weight capacity than the others since it can carry a total of 110 pounds. You do need additional tie-downs for the second boat. • How Far Apart Should Crossbars be to Carry 14 Foot Kayaks on a 2016 Buick Enclave
Because kayaks are so long the wider the stance of the JayLow kayak carrier, # Y04073, the better the support will be for the kayaks. The minimum bar spread, measured from the center of one bar to the center of the other bar on your 2016 Buick Enclave, is 24 inches for the JayLow. So any spread of 24 inches of more will be sufficient.
