Here may be some helpful hints that I found when installing. Use 10-12" long extension for 13mm nut (left side of opening panel that was removed). Install bracket. Adjust plunger & backing nut by feel. Remove bracket. Install switch with ring washer & nut. Crimp red & green wires on switch wires. Reinstall bracket under dash.

This was a little tricky to get adjusted properly, but you just have to be patient until it's in the proper place. Had to adjust the mounting bar angle slightly to get it in the right place.
I installed it myself to tow my 2018 Jeep Wrangler as I had experience as an auto mechanic myself years ago. I would not reccomend self install for those without such eperience even though the online videos were helpful. The only issue I had with performance was sticking lock mechasims which was resolved by calling the manufacturer, who instructed cleaning the housings which got dirty.

Tow bar had to be replaced after 6 months use as it failed. There was no charge for the replacement.

Install was tight in the Wrangler.
I would recommend removing the driver seat, it at least removing the seat bolts and moving it rearward to have room to work.
The installing bracket is difficult to install. If I would have seen the trailer switch and mounting hardware, I would have purchased it.
etrailer’s installation video was very helpful. However, the mounting bracket holes on either end seem to be the same size (the video and instructions state that the switch fits into only one end but for me it fit into both). Consequently, it is not clear which side of the bracket to use for the switch vs the vehicle stud. One other installation hint, perhaps unique to the Wrangler Rubicon or Wranglers with upgraded audio/Uconnect, there is an electronic module (3”x4”), mounted to the dash framework behind the lower dash panel, that must be dismounted in order to allow access to the bracket mounting location (see photo).
Great product installed very easily. I also used this switch to install a Brake Controller. By using this I did not have to tap into the Wrangler electrical system for the Bake Controller.

This product is not needed for the DUO Plug in Play. The Tech support at DUO will provide you with the correct sequence of connections and will save you time and frustration of trying to install this item. REF; 20 Jeep JL

This product is good quality overall. Installation is tough. I've got big arms and big hands and trying to get the bracket on the stud is all but impossible. Tip: wire the switch BEFORE installing the bracket and switch. Adjusting the switch is equally as difficult. Otherwise, it is a straight forward install.

So far the product has been performing as advertised. We towed from south Florida to Colorado and back with multiple stops and side trips and no issues at all. We even went 4-wheeling in CO for a day and nothing worked loose. Id recommend this product, with some modifications suggested by Rad.
Great product and thanks to etrailer.com for the excellent videos detailing how to install the Demco Stay-In-Play Duo braking system. As a result of watching all of the available videos, I learned that there where a couple of different ways to install the system in our Jeep Wranglers. The first installation I did was in our 2019 Wrangler and that was super easy following the one video on your website. The second installation of the system was not as easy because our 2021 Wrangler has a manual transmission and required having to drill a hole in the firewall/floor board to run the wiring and vacuum tube from the passenger compartment to the engine area. If etrailer.com ever has an installation on a Jeep Wrangler with a manual transmission to perform, hopefully they will video tape that installation to guide customers with Jeeps with manual transmissions. I think etrailer.com's idea of mounting the control box on the fuse box is by far the cleanest and easiest way to install the Demco braking system.
I also followed etrailer.com's videos for installing the brake light system and the base plate on both our Wranglers and could not be happier with them. Thanks etrailer for all you offer.

The item was purchased specifically for a 2018 Rubicon JLU. Here are the flaws:
1. The bracket holes are the same size yet the instructions state use the larger hole for the switch side. A micrometer confirmed such. The angle and length of each bracket end varies slightly so you have to struggle with placing the switch on each bracket end and test for fit and switch adjustment parameters. Roadmaster could easily mark the appropriate end and assisted the customer.
2. The wires provided are to short for a proper fit specifically from the battery to the switch. Its a confined space and room to work with a short lead on the switch and a short power wire. Had to use a longer wire run and trim off once the power wire was routed and through the firewall.
3. Roadmaster knows the fuse terminal connection provided will not work in the JL yet provides it verses providing an inline blade fuse holder. That means a trip to the auto parts store since the kit in incomplete for a fuse holder and don't forget to have on hand the proper length of power wire to complete the installation.
4. There is also an electronic component which obstructs (behind the trim panel)accesses not described or illustrated in the installation instructions/video. It has to be moved to gain proper access. Not a big deal but there are 4 delicate plugs to remove so be cautious.
Overall-The bracket is solid and engineered so that the switch aligns with a metal tab on the brake pedal. Dissatisfied with the accompanying accessories-Roadmaster really short changed the customer with these components.
Installed on my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport. Only thing I’d change is to strip the wires on the switch and make butt connections before mounting on the bracket. It’s a really tight space for hands under the dash.

The installation videos make it SO easy! It took time for me since I'm a perfectionist but it turned out flawless. I saved over $1000 by installing it myself and etrailer made it possible!!! They covered everything I needed to do the job! Highly recommended etrailer every time!
If you are pleasing plump as me and arthritic, give yourself some time, not hard to install actuall if I were 40 still would be a 10 minute job
