Updated 05/04/2026 | Published 05/02/2026

Question:

I need assistance in choosing a flat tow system for a 2025 Jeep Wrangler with the factory plastic bumper. I am leaning towards Roadmaster with Air Force One and any other accessories needed.

Hello John,

Sounds like you upgraded from the pull behind to an RV, Congrats!

Here is a complete flat tow package for your 2025 Jeep Wrangler with factory plastic bumper:

- Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521453-5

- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,000 lbs # RM27NQ (kept the one you had your eye on)

- Safety Cables: Roadmaster 80" Hybrid Coiled-to-Straight Safety Cables - Double Hook - 10,000 lbs - Qty 2 # RM-674

- Vehicle Protection: Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screen for Towed Vehicles # RM-4750

- Wiring: If you have ParkSense or LED's: Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights - 7-Way to 6-Way Adapter Cord # RM63MR, if you do not have either then you can use # RM-15267

- Brake Light Switch: *If the brake lights do not work with the towed vehicle's ignition key turned to the "tow" position, you need a brake light switch kit to provide a signal to the supplemental braking system. Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490

- Braking System: Demco is always my go-to, so I am glad you asked about it. Sounds like your coach has air brakes, so you will need the Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Wireless Monitoring - Proportional # DM26VR

Once you get out and about, if you notice any body roll or wandering when you hit a rut in the road, please let me know. We have some great upgraded parts that can make your travels much more enjoyable. No one wants white knuckles on the road to adventure if you don’t need them.

Do you plan on doing the install yourself? I attached install videos for each product, if you need our Dealer Locator to find someone you can pay to do the job, let me know. I also attached a great help article on flat towing as well.

So what RV did you end up getting? Have you been able to take it out on a first mini trip yet?

Thanks for all the info. I have contacted one of the installers on your recommended list. I am about to purchase a 2005 Country Coach Allure 430. Could you also supply a list of equivalent Blue Ox flat tow items? My installer does have a preference for those so I would like to be able to choose between the two brands. This would also be with Air Force One.

@JohnD Also, the coach I am getting does NOT have separate amber turn signals. The turn signals are incorporated with the tail light.

@JohnD Definitely, here are the Blue Ox parts: - Base Plate: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1139 - Tow Bar: Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,000 lbs # BX7420 - Wiring: only if you do NOT have ParkSense: Blue Ox 4-Diode Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # BX8848. If you do have ParkSense you will need to go with the Roadmaster. We have done a TON of flat tow set-ups here at etrailer, our installer prefer the Roadmaster wiring as the diodes will probably out live the vehicle. That is the 3 items I would be able to swap out, you will still need the brake light switch through roadmaster. I missed one last thing that would also be a roadmaster part that I suggest with every flat tow, the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25. This gives you peace of mind that when you get to your destination your Wrangler will start right up, we don't do a flat tow here without including it.

@JohnD That’s actually normal, most motorhomes use a combined brake/turn signal like that, so it won’t cause any issues. The wiring setup I mentioned will work just fine with it, no additional wiring needed because of that.
