This switch provides a dedicated brake signal from the Jeep so the monitor in your motorhome can accurately indicate when the Blue Ox Patriot is applying the brakes.

I can confirm from installing a braking unit on my 2020 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited that you do need the switch. It’s a relatively easy install.

I don't believe it was required on my 2020 JL but I installed it and would recommend doing so. It is n independent positive assurance the brake pedal is being depressed seperate from my Demco Stay n Play. Easy to install and inexpensive.
