Recommended Baseplate and Flat Towing Parts for a 2026 Jeep Wrangler Willys 41

I have a 2026 Jeep Wrangler Willys 41 special edition. The bottom skid plate cover is steel, does this need holes cut into it in order to work? I noticed most of the other wranglers have a plastic skid plate. Thanks

Hey Josh, congrats on the new Jeep. Installing a baseplate like the etrailer item # e44FV on your 2026 Jeep Wrangler Willys is going to require you removing the skid plate. This is why our etrailer item # e44FV comes with the diamond plated skid plate to replace it.
I attached a couple pictures below of the etrailer item # e44FV installed so you can see what the new skid plate looks like. I also linked an installation video so you can see how to get it setup.
Here are the rest of the parts you will need to flat tow your 2026 Jeep Wrangler Willys 41 Special Edition:
Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar item # e67ZR
Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267 or item # RM63MR if your Jeep has LED lights and the Parksense proximity sensors
Brake Light Switch - Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-751490
Supplemental Braking System - SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System item # SM99251 or item # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes
High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. Purchased this for a 2025 Jeep Wrangler 392 with a steel skid plate. Their diamond plate matched up perfectly and looks nice as well. I did struggle with getting all the screws back on (had to put a little more effort to set screws in original holes) but that could’ve easily been user error. The entire kit was unbelievably easy to do. Literally did it at Disney Fort Wilderness in a few hours. Would’ve taken less time but I was scared it was too easy and I missed a step so I watched YouTube videos over and over again (that was included in the time).
