Installed just like the videos described and comes with all the hardware needed to complete the installation. There is a hole you will need to measure and mark that the video did not cover.

Base plates got perfect! Cutting holes through plastic air shield a little tedious but it worked out fine.
These base plates fit perfect! I have an aftermarket bumper manufactured by Rugged Ridge so some slight modifications had to be made to the winch mounting plate. This consisted of elongating to frame rail holes and adding an additional hole for the top bolts on the base plate. The inside tabs for the winch plate had to be cut back 3/16” in order to fit inside the Roadmaster base plate brackets. It was a tight fit but with some persuasion the winch plate was installed. Looks great!
Installed on my 2020 jeep jl sport s with factory plastic bumper and plastic rock guard. Shane’s video was very helpful but I did not like how the metal plate behind the rock guard was cut away and how the rock guard had two big cut outs so I did some modifications. I cut two slots in the metal bracket and added angle brackets for extra support. As a result i did not use the supplied brackets for the rock guard. I created a template for the rock guard which resulted in two small cut outs. A lot of extra time but i am retired so time is relative. I think it looks great.
I installed the tow brackets on my new 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The instructions were excellent. I had no difficulty installing except I failed to follow one instruction to use supplied bolts to reattach part of the Rock Guard Mount. I used the factory bolts which were slightly larger causing interference with my locking mechanism. Maybe a note on that step would be warranted to make sure folks do not make my mistake which resulted in me basically doing the job twice. Tackle the brakes next.

Roadmaster system is top notch. Installation was not bad. Getting bumper to line up with holes in new bracket was difficult, due to very tight tolerance. We have towed 4 down over 4,000 miles with this set up, no issues at all. Towing 4 down is the only way to go!!
I have not installed this yet, but it is the second base plate I have purchased from etrailer and it appears to be the same great quality as the first one.
Everything installed perfectly and the instructions where clear. I didn't care for the instruction to cut up the metal rock guard for the crossbar, but otherwise am pleased with the installation result.
We have since travelled 1,200 miles with this set up connected to a Nighthawk tow bar, and are 100% happy with the performance, and are especially pleased with the ease of connection and disconnection.
This is our 2nd tow vehicle with the road master product all is well

I bought this base plate kit for my 2022 Jeep Rubicon Gladiator so I could flat tow behind my class a motor home with a Roadmaster Falcon all terrain non binding tow bar. The instructions were easy to follow and went smoothly except drilling the holes. That was my fault because I was using a dull drill bit. See attached photo
The base plate was easy to install. Hardest part was cutting the metal skid plate that came with the Rubicon X (had a friend that works at a machine shop that cut it for me). Measurements in the instructions were spot on and it fit nicely once cut and reinstalled.
Easy install on Jeep Wrangler. Low profile look when tow hooks are removed.

The only base plate to have now that ‘direct connect’ is available. No longer unsightly bars filling the front of your vehicle totally exposed when not flat towing. Direct connect is not visible at all when not connected to you rig. This is important especially to Jeep owners.

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit has performed flawlessly over the past year. With almost 10k miles logged during our 3 month trip across the US, the components have remained as installed and operated as expected.
So far so good. I had to cut a little of the stabilizer bar brackets to get it in . This lowers my tow point on the Jeep by 5" compared to the D-rings on the bumper. That means I can eliminate the offset hitch extension and the slop it adds to the tow rig. I will test it this weekend and see how it rolls.
I would prefer it to have the safety chain hook points on the outside of each bracket, so as to not interfere with the latching pins for the removable yokes. Seems odd but works ok so far.
I watched YouTube videos on how to install. I have used this a year now. It is well made and not some cheap junk. Heavy steel and I am pleased with it. As with all etrailer products I have purchased, I highly recommend. Their customer service is outstanding.

Installation was fairly straightforward, kudos to e-trailer for the videos, looks great, everyone says it looks factory installed, love the low profile base plate without the bar, also love that the hook ups are detachable and can be removed when not towing, gives it an overall cleaner look. Installed it right at the campground without issues, took about 3 hours to install, with our rubicon only had to widen the top holes as the second set of holes were already the size of the bolts needed. This is the 3rd base blare we have installed and they get easier each time.

Excellent base plate, just as my wife requested, she didn’t want too much metal visible in front of the bumper. Installation instructions were a bit confusing for me, but I’ll clarify, for me.
