These fold-down steps form a solid bridge from ground to doorway. The adjustable legs create a firm connection with the ground, so there’s no flex or wobble when you step up. Each leg adjusts in 1" increments for up to 13" of height difference, keeping the steps level even on uneven terrain. With a 400 lb weight capacity and a kickplate that protects the sidewall, they stay steady and secure in daily use.
Getting in and out feels natural thanks to the 8" drop/rise between steps and a roomy 13" deep top tread. Each step is 24" wide with a non-slip textured surface and rubber strips for traction in wet or muddy conditions. The spacing and depth make it easier for kids, pets, or anyone with balance issues to climb safely without that “too-tall first step” feeling.
The treads are aluminum, so they won’t rust, and the steel frame has a corrosion-resistant powder coat. It’s a sturdy, manual step that feels solid underfoot but is still light enough to lift and fold effortlessly. The whole assembly comes pre-assembled and mounts directly to your threshold without cutting into the skirting.
When it’s time to roll, the steps fold up and latch inside the doorway, keeping them clean and protected from weather and road debris. Once stowed, the assembly sits flush so it won’t hang below your rig or collect dirt. The mounting bracket measures 22-1/2" wide × 10-1/2" tall × 6" deep and fits doorways 29"–36" wide with an entry height of 27"–36".
Many users describe these steps as a huge improvement over factory steel fold-outs. The solid ground contact and wide top step make the entry feel like walking up real stairs. Whether you’re setting up for a weekend or living in your camper full-time, the Lippert SolidStep 3-Step assembly gives you a safe, grounded entry every time.

I wish they had this as an option when I bought my trailer years back. So much sturdier to go into the trailer now. Getting ready to another one for the rear door. Easy to put on.
etrailer made the step replacement for my parents RV affordable and convenient. The free shipping was a huge plus. The fit was perfect.
First I didn’t understand why it took 8 days before the “in stock” product was shipped. 13 days after I placed my order I received my steps. I first noticed the top of the stringers were bent on both sides. (Really poor packaging by Lippart) Well I’ll live with that so started to install them. The threshold of the steps was severely warped due to the hinge being welded on. (Poor fabrication practices) I knew I would have to trim my screen door. But I never put the first fastener in (per instructions) BC the warped threshold wouldn’t allow for my main door to close.
The warp is more than 3/8 of an inch which is a severe bow imo.
Gonna call etrailer now and see what direction to travel now. And freight companies handle freight really rough these days.
As a person with balance issues; the angle and larger step reduces the risk of falling. The steps that come with the trailer are usually steeper angle and smaller steps. Highly recommend especially for those that have similar medical conditions.
Fast shipping. Box was damaged when it arrived, but that was the fault of UPS. Looks like everything is ok inside. We won't be able to install these until the weather clears up, but we can hardly wait. We first saw these steps at a boat show and then some friends put some on their trailer. That first step coming out of the trailer is extra wide and that is so nice. We're also installing the lift assist kit. Will get back with you and let you know how the installation went.
These steps are awesome I had put a set on my last camper,When i sold my camper to my daughter and son-in-law they told me i had to leave the steps on, The first thing we bought for my new camper was another set of steps
These steps are great and the installation was quite easy. The original steps on the Rv were very unstable. These steps are extremely stable and easy to adjust. Storing the steps is easy and quick and the steps are surprisingly light to lift. Highly recommended.
Happy campers indeed! These steps are simply the best. Extremely sturdy and very well made. They replaced the original stairs on our fifth wheel which were unstable and unsafe. What an upgrade! Highly recommend. Well worth the price.
One of the best upgrades we ever made to our RV!
Etrailer has always been a great to purchase from
The best Rv steps. Easy to install. All Rvs should have this type of entry steps. The ones that came with my Rv were junk. It was a blessing that when my tire blew out and took my factory stairsout as well, that i found "The solid step" Good improvement and a reasonable price.
Long story short this was the 4th attempt at getting these steps but first 3 were via Amazon. First set were too long. The 4 step model for my camper were too long. Measurements really need to be questioned. I was "inbetween" and it was recommended to go with the 4 step model. Wrong recommendation. 3 step was needed for a perfect fit. Sent those back and then Amazon proceeded to ship me the 26" wide vs the 30" TWICE. In fact the second time it was the SAME BOX I sent back a few days earlier. So, I found the model needed on etrailer for same price. Everything installed as expected HOWEVER, I had to loosen up the bolts for the foot pad and the right leg extension because they just wouldn't move. ALSO, the box did not contain the underfloor mounting bracket needed(if you didn't have a solid wood floor). So that tells me I received a "sent back" unit from another customer. This was also evident by the way the box was taped up and the condition of the box. However, overall the steps are now installed and look great. Slight modification needed on screen door to get it to close but otherwise a great upgrade for the rv. 4 stars because of prompt delivery. Not 5 stars because of "assumption" that it was a returned from another customer item.
Purchased the manual fold down steps for my 5th wheel. Original fold out steps are weak and feel unsafe.
Ordering steps through Etrailer was very easy and they arrived earlier than the posted date.
Lippert box was very unsuitable and legs were sticking out through the end. They really need to beef up the packaging.
Installation was easy following the instructions provided. I also purchased the handrail accessory and installed it on the steps that works in conjunction with the existing handrail on the camper.
The steps are just what I had hoped for and are very sturdy for a 300 lb 6’4” man.
I am currently converting a 20' box truck into an RV. I have found the Lippert products are great fit for this endeavor. These steps are a no brainer for the 36" wide side entry which I am currently using a ladder to get in and out.
Great steps, but next time probably get four step. My summer lot drifts away fifth wheel kingpin way high to be level which affects step height big time!

It may be possible to move up to the Solidstep 4 Step part # LC791575. There are a few measurements that you will want to take. Besides measuring the the width between the door flanges and measuring from the top of the threshold plate to the bottom of the door, you will want to measure from the mounting point to the ground. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when theyre fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need. I would check to make sure you will have the room before investing in the 4 step option.
These steps are a great improvement from the old pull out steps.
Purchased these steps a year ago. They were installed by myself in about 4 hours from start to finish. Don't work as fast as I use to. We owned a fifth wheel for 16 years but than upgraded to a newer one. The steps were not as solid as the pervious 5th wheel. Didn't like the steps giving with weight so looked for something more solid. Found these on the enternet and very happy with them. Solid as a rock. No movement at all. I will however tell you where we camp it is always on a concrete slab. Can not say how they would work on dirt. I did not purchase the hand rail as we prefer the hand rail attached to the 5th wheel. Very happy with the stability of the steps and the easy set up and fold up they require. Because I wanted to test the steps before removing the old ones I had both steps ready to use. However, now after one season I will remove the old steps and utilize the space for storage. Building my own box for storage of my small generator. So glad I found these steps. The wife loves them too.
Wish I had put these step on a few years ago knowing mine where slowly messing up or about to break. Pretty sure this is on the delivery service but steps were warped a little and had a bend on the top. Not bad easy fix.
Fit my camper like a glove easy to install, my wife has drop foot she absolutely loves it.
Received the Lippert travel trailer steps in 4 days and installed in less than 4 hours easy installation and we love them. Ashley at extension 79333 was a pleasure to work with. Thanks etrailer and Ashley and keep up the good work.
When I originally ordered the item, it was out of stock. Once it was received in stock, I received it within just a couple of days. The item was slightly damaged in shipping and missing some parts. But that is not on etrailer. I’m sure it was packaged at the manufacturer in a way to not protect the item very well considering rough handling during shipping. I called etrailer and they are sending me the replacement parts that I need. I appreciate their efforts.
Well step showed up with a little damage due to ruff shipping handling. box was tore up, feet hanging out. turned out missing hardware also. I think these should be packaged better! etrailer. was great and gave some credit back for dents and hardware. The The main door closes fine with step out ,but I had trim quite a bit off the bottom of the screen door to get it to work as others have posted. So make bottom of door clearances part of your consideration when buying.
The install of step is easy and very basic other than screen door bottom clearance. The top step is huge and the steps are rock solid.
I am very happy with steps just plan on maybe some door modifications before you order them
The steps are awesome! I've been thinking about these for a while now and was forced to make a decision as my original pull out steps on my Winne finally broke. etrailer has always been my go to for trailer parts. I watched installation videos and also followed their guidelines to ensure a good fit. Ordered the steps and they arrived quickly - the shipping box was pretty beat up but all the parts were there. Installed in about 1 hour with my sister's help and they fit perfectly. Best investment yet. Thank you etrailer!!
Great replacement for the oem rickety stairs that came with our 5th wheel camper. Installation was easy however make sure you remove the threshold and level the steps by reducing the length of the legs to level the landing. Otherwise the door will scrape the landing and make it harder to close.
