Question:

setting up a 2021 jeep wrangler factory bumper for now may change some day. what do you think about these parts ? RM-521453-5 ,DM86VR , RM27NQ do you have better options I need a wiring diode also. i selected the tow bar because of the 10,000lb rating

Hey Robert, the only frame mounted base plate kits we have for your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited like the Roadmaster part # RM-521453-5 require either the factory steel or plastic bumper to verify for sure they will work. For aftermarket bumpers you have to use D-ring adapters like the part # RM-035-1 for if the D-rings are 1 inch thick. Since the D-ring adapter base plate kits aren't too expensive I would go with the # RM24VR for right now and if you go to an aftermarket bumper cross that bridge with the adapter at that point.

The Stay In Play DUO part # DM86VR is a really solid braking solution that you will really like. Our installers prefer it as it's the easiest to install and best performing option.

The Roadmaster Falcon 3HD part # RM27NQ is a really solid option as well. This is one of the nicest tow bars we carry so I know you'll like it.

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

Would you do the aftermarket bumper for a winch?

bx88368 would this be a cleaner install for the lights ? do i need safety chains ? anything extra needed ? yes possibly a winch bumper

@RobertH The part # BLU79FR would be a great option actually. It does install a lot easier too. I should have noticed that the Falcon doesn't come with safety cables. This is new as the older models all did come with them. For a set you'd want the part # RM-643.

I installed the roadmaster on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler with a factory bumper. Pretty easy install works great. I use the blue box towbar with the adapters. I have the Air Force One and would not use anything but that. One big difference is you may have LED tail lights, and that may requires some different wiring or diodes. I also have the roadmaster roll up rock guard which is amazing. My jeep looks brand new after 30,000 miles of towing. I also every year change the bushings on my blue ox towbar.
