What do I need to Flat to a 2023 Jeep wrangler, Sierra 4XE. I already have the toll bar. I just need to know what type of base plate, and electrical hook ups Are needed. I’m thinking about that invisible break from roadmaster thank you

Hi David,
I can definitely help with that. Since you already have a tow bar, the next step is choosing a base plate that's compatible with it. If you can let me know the brand of your tow bar, I can point you to the correct base plate with confidence.
If you have a Roadmaster tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct Connect Base Plate Kit, part # RM-521453-5. If you have a Blue Ox tow bar, the correct base plate is part # BX1139. If you have a Demco tow bar, you'll want part # DM9519339. All three are solid choices with removable attachment arms, so it really comes down to matching the base plate to your tow bar.
For the wiring, I recommend the Curt Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit, part # C96JR. It's a true plug and play harness that connects behind the factory tail lights, so there's no cutting or splicing into your Jeep's wiring. It also has built in diodes to protect your Jeep's electrical system from feedback while you're towing.
As for the supplemental braking system, I'd actually lean toward the Demco Stay IN Play DUO, part # DM86VR, if your motorhome has hydraulic brakes. If your motorhome has air brakes, I'd go with the Demco Air Force One, part # DM26VR. I know you mentioned the Roadmaster InvisiBrake, and while it does a good job, I prefer the Demco systems because they're proportional. That means they match how hard your motorhome is braking and apply the same amount of braking in the Jeep. The result is much smoother, more natural braking and less unnecessary wear on the Jeep's brakes. The Stay IN Play DUO also has a panic stop feature that increases braking during an emergency stop, which is another nice benefit.
That pretty much wraps up everything you'll need to flat tow your Wrangler since you already have the tow bar. The only other item you may need is a high low adapter to keep the tow bar level. A good option is the etrailer High Low Adjustable Adapter, part # e52ZV. To see if you need one, park both the Jeep and your motorhome on level ground. Measure from the ground to the center of the motorhome's hitch receiver, then measure from the ground to the center of the base plate attachment tabs on the Jeep once they're installed. If the difference is more than 3 inches, you'll want a high low adapter to bring the tow bar back within that range for the safest towing setup.

David. I installed the invisible brake system in our 2008 jeep wrangler Sahara and I love it. So easy!! You just put the jeep in neutral and the system charges your. Artery from your rv as you drive so no need to disconnect the battery as in other systems. We have it with the Roadmaster tow bar. I’d also suggest e trailers anti rattle hitch product too. The entire system works like a dream. On another note, I found that an rv tech was way cheaper than other options for the install. I found that the brick and morter guys were way over the top for installation.

I installed the Roadmaster tow system and invisibrake in my 2003 Honda element and both have worked very well. We can hook and unhook in under 5 minutes. The invisibrake works great too. It does drain the battery so will need the kit to charge the tow battery when towing. Tech support from Roadmaster was fantastic and I did the installation work myself. 61 year old woman! Highly recommended etrailer and Roadmaster !!

The system works very well. It is a little challenging to get it all installed and working nicely, but once installed it worked very well. The one aspect about it is it doesn't need a brake controller on the tow vehicle. It monitors the brake light circuit and activates the device under the seat. You adjust the pressure to get more or less brake application. I hope this helps.
