Hi there, light duty towers. Today, we're going to be taking a look at CURT's 2" chrome ball.This is a class 2 ball, it's also going to work with class 1. And it has a 3/4" shank on the bottom, which is the diameter of our shaft coming out the bottom that's threaded. And it's also 2-1/8" long, which means that it'll work with drawbars that have a platform between 3/8" thick and 5/8" thick. And it's rated for a 3,500 pound gross towing capacity, which is going to be great for your small utility trailers, we've got one right here we're going to be hooking up to it, but also for other small trailers such as kayak carriers, and maybe a small jet ski trailer as well. The ball is a solid steel construction with a chrome plating on it to protect it against the elements, and it also gives it a nice look.One of the things you can do to help protect the finish and increase the life of your ball is grease it before every use.
That'll just give a little coating for your trailer hitch to pivot on as you're going down the road. Now we're not going to be greasing it today for demonstration purposes, but you can get some grease here at etrailer.com. Wheel bearing grease is a really easy thing to use. It's nice to have readily available, and works great on this.When you're ready to use your ball, we're going to take our trailer, unlatch the coupler on it, simply set it in place, and then latch it down. Now that we've got our trailer fully connected with our safety chain, and our coupler pin, and our wiring, we're now ready to hit the road and start towing.Once you get your ball you are going to need a drawbar to install it into, so you want to make sure you choose one with an appropriately sized hole.
Again, this is a 3/4" shank, so you want to look for one with a 3/4 diameter hole in your drawbar. And it's always a good idea to make sure your drawbar is matching the capacities of your ball, because if you get one that's less, you're limiting your ball because you're only going to be able to go with the max that your drawbar is.Let's go ahead and show you how we got the ball installed in the drawbar. Now, we'll begin our installation by removing the nut and washer from our ball, and then installing the ball into our drawbar. We're going to be placing it in this position, as this is really designed for a rise, for the most part, for this drawbar. So we're going to put it there, like that.
And then, on the other side, we're just going to re-secure it with the lock washer and nut.You'll have a couple of flat spots on your ball, so we're just lining those up in our vice to hold it. And then, we can use a 1-1/8" socket to torque the nut the manufacturer's specifications. You usually find that on a tag found on your ball. Now that we've got it torqued to the manufacturer's specifications, we can place it in our receiver, and we're ready to start towing.And that completes our look at CURT's 2" chrome ball.

I bought a trailer hitch for a Toyota Corolla. It fit Perfect, took only minutes to install. I was surprised and very happy with it and the other parts you sent.
I was very excited to receive my trailer accessories from etrailer.com. The representative was able to get me the product within 5 days rather then regular shipping which was to take as much as 7 days. I was disappointed that the ball's chrome wore off after only one use.
FYI many small trailers actually need a 1 7/8" ball. Look at what you need before buying one.
I bought this ball and have to buy a second. Which is OK, I suppose, because they are cheap enough and I might need a 2" ball in the future.
This product is great. Easy ti install. Just as advertised and delivery was very fast. I would recommend buying from etrailer.

My second Curt hitch. I like the appearance of the round tubular hitch. Service reliable and delivery quick. The only shortfall on the instructions was that it was not clear which holes in the frame got the bolts that were fished in, and of course I got it wrong the first time. I had to remove both bolts to reinstall in holes farther forward. Otherwise, fine product and instructions.
I received everything as expected and very promptly. Thank you.

For my 1 ton total Harbor Freight utility trailer, this ball, with a Curt Class II drawbar, on my '11 Mini Countryman S, is overkill, but I'm much happier knowing that the hitch and ball are working at far below maximum capacity. A mechanic neighbor had the tools needed to get the nut torqued properly. It's all very solid. Just part of a kit to create a part-time pickup truck where I can leave the "bed" at home.
just what i needed to go with my hitch,carrier so i can hook up my trailer to my chev trax to pick up items too big for the trax. also being able to take items to the transfer station to dispose of.

working well and can use my trailer in many ways. glad i bought it
I was very suspicious how will it fit and suit Dodge Challenger. But when I received trailer hitch, and by they way it travelled across the planet to reach me, I was totally impressed with the quality, ease of installation and accessories which I ordered with it. I basically installed it myself with a help of a friend, it took about 30 minutes to fix it. It really saved me as I needed the trailer to transport my bike to the race track and I didn't want to change the car.
So the conclusion, I own it for more than a year and have zero issues or complaints about the hitch or accessories. I used to travel long and short distances and in average I use it every second week. You barely can notice it when you remove drawbar so it is very good solution.
i needed a 2 inch hitch ball with a 3/4 inch diameter long shank to fit on my tractor 1 inch thick steel drawbar to pull my utility trailer and i ordered it from etrailer...it arrived via usps in a timely manner with no damage and with all parts...i installed it quickly and have been using it for the past several days...it works fine...i recommend etrailer...

Still works great on my old farm tractor drawbar.
Every part excellent quality. Perfect fit, all parts were exact for my vehicle. Watched the video on youtube for wiring and being a mechanic for over 50 years was able to connect signal lights all from driver side of harness. Instead of leaving plug inside trunk I wired through the rubber outlet to the back of the hitch ready for use. Very happy highly recommend etrailer.
