Question:
I have a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis with a Draw-tite class 2 hitch I need a hitch ball mount, 2-inch ball and locking pin, I plan to tow a Uhaul 5x8 cargo trailer from NY to MN. Im aware that Uhaul has a suggested coupler height of 18. I measured the distance from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver, which is 12. Would the CURT 45015 Class 2 Trailer Hitch Ball Mount 5inch rise fit in the receiver fine or do I need to get a Draw-tite hitch mount like Draw-Tite 36063 Class II Trailer Hitch Ball Mount Drawbar 3.125inch rise?

Hi Ryan; the Curt Class II Drawbar # C45015 is the better choice here. Since your measurement is 12" you need a 6" rise for the U-Haul trailer. It doesn't have to be 100% perfect, and rarely is, so the 5" rise from the Curt ball mount is your best option. This has a 3/4" ball hole diameter so you can use the # C40018 for a 2" ball.

Thanks, ordered those and was able to fit the drawbar in my current hitch receiver, yet it was very tight. Ran into another issue, this time with the trailer wiring. Noticed that the Right light doesn’t work. Was able to figure out that power was going into the lighting module, but no power is coming out of the module for the green wire. Would I be able to buy just the module to replace the faulty one or do I have to replace the whole trailer wiring?
