I had already purchased a receiver lock a couple months earlier and then placed a new order for a coupler lock and spare keys to match all locking devices and existing keys. eTrailer.com tracked down a coupler lock and all keys to match my existing receiver lock key# so I have a single key for all lock devices. I was very happy with their follow-up and service. Thanks.

great service and fast delivery the convert a ball makes it easy when changing from one trailer to anther that’s calls for different size trailer hitches

by:

I love Convert-A-Ball hitch balls. I have 6 vehicles and as many ball mounts depending on the vehicle/trailer combination. The ball mounts each have a stem and I can swap from 1-7/8" ball to 2" to 2-5/16" without tools! Makes life on the farm just a little bit easier.

As long as the balls are stored in a dry place and the o-rings on the pins stay lubricated with grease or Vaseline, they work perfectly!

by:

A time saver changing ball size ! BUT, my first one only lasted 2 or 3 years. The pins gave trouble, wouldn't go back in.

by:

I have had one of these hitches for a few years and can't say enough about how great they are. So easy to convert from 1 7/8 to 2" without tools. I have had so many people ask me where I got it and I didn't know because I had it given to me. Now I can tell them it came from etrailer.com.

I love this Convert-A-Ball. It makes my job so easy.

by:

I had one before and now I needed another as I have two trailers with different hitches. Delivered quickly.

Just converted yesterday again. Cant do without it.

by:

Trailer ball is of excellent quality. I am curious to see how well the sliding pin holds up to the salty road conditions we have here in Michigan. The pictured ball does show a safety cotter pin but it was not included

Product still works great. Still very happy with it.

by:

The convert-a-ball basically works well as I have equipment with both 1 7/8 and 2" receivers. I had a problem with my 2" ball in that the pin retainer inside the ball broke jamming the pin. I was able to drive the pin out and removed the broken clip wire. It is still usable although there is no retainer clip and I have to be careful not to lose the pin. This is probably an unusual event and I still recommend the convert-a-ball.

by:

I ordered the Convert-A-Ball Interchangeabe Ball Set, after looking at other Mfgs. this set will allow me to use both the 1-7/8 and 2" hitches, which is most common, and I do own both size trailers. I like the nickel plating and the intergrate pin . I have had the Mfg. with the screw type top of ball, that became rusty and the spring and ball bearing fell out, safety wasn't good.

The order came within a week and was in great condition.

I will order again from etrailer again without a doubt.

tks
Dave

Ive had zero issues with this product. The plating is holding up well. Its a cinch to quickly change.

by:

I have had one of these types of receiver balls on my 98 S-10 for years and it never failed me ! My friends had those other types with the spring-loaded pin and the "zig-zag" channel and they always jammed up and mine NEVER did ! When I sold the truck I let the unit go with it ( I forgot to take it off), so when I bought another truck a few months later I got one of these again for my bumper. It is a no brainer.....

by:

The order came within the wk I order it. This is the 2nd set that I have purchased, this set is for my son, as he just got a new truck and needed a hitch ball set that had both a 1 7/8" and a 2" ball. I purchased a Convert-A-Ball set like this one over a year ago and have not had a problem at all, and the convenience of changing ball sizes, and the safety that you have that the ball is held tight in the hitch, can not be matched.
What a great product!

by:

Just what you need when you have trailers with different coupler sizes

by:

My trailer and boat use different size hitch ball. It was very inconvenient. convert a ball is great. Very easy to change ball sizes in seconds. Great product.

by:

This is my second purchase of a Convert-A-Ball set and I'm loving them so far. A lot easier and quicker than changing ball mounts and a lot cleaner looking than those 2 or 3-way ball mounts.

by:

The convert-a-ball, along with the additional post, will now allow me to use either trailer with either vehicle. Balls switch out quick and easily. Well made product, no more having to constantly switch out balls.

by:

Works great. I am very pleased. Delivery time was astounding. Arrived the next day. Love the cushioned ball mount - the 12 inch drop was perfect for my GMC Yukon where the receiver comes out of the bumper.

by:

Replacement for my current hitch, only needed the balls, but had to buy the whole unit. Only needed the 802, however.

by:

works good. Was a little sketchy on the whole interchangeable ball gig but it works great. I can switch balls from my boat to my motorcycle trailer in under 5 minutes.

by:

Good solid product

by:

The ease of the Convert a Ball hitch system is great. etrailer made buying this part easy and quick. Thanks.

by:

Excellent quality! This is the second combo hitch ball I have purchased. Saves a lot of hassle switching ball sizes and very easy to use!

by:

I have about 4 sets of these, one for each vehicle and draw bar. One for the bike carrier, which has a draw bar too.

by:

Have not used it yet but it looks solid. Bought it for the wife's truck since we now have 2 different size trailer hitches to work with.

  • Using Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount with Surge Breaks
The Convert-A-Ball cushioned ball mount # AMSC12 is absolutely compatible with the surge breaks on your tow dolly. You may not even notice it the cushion interacting with your surge couple. The way cushion is designed is that the more pressure that is put on it the firmer it gets. The cushion itself is so dense that more force would be needed to compress that cushion than to actuate the surge coupler. Where this ball mount truly shines is when there's a lot of road shock that needs to be...

For a ball mount with a rise with a rating that meets or exceeds that of the Draw-Tite Class V # 41948 hitch, I'd recommend the # BWBMHD30210 from B&W. Unfortunately, none of the interchangeable ball sets we offer would be compatible with a high capacity ball mount like what you're looking for. I'd go with the # BWBMHD30210 with a # BWHB94050 trailer ball for your heavy duty needs, which would be good up to 16K and a lower rated ball mount like # D-4, Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3, and a...

The Tow Ready 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19260, would be a great fit for your application, as it features a 1 inch diameter shank that should be compatible with your ball mount. A 1-7/8 inch ball is usually found on very small trailers. The coupler should have the ball requirement stamped into the top of it. Most stand alone 1-7/8 inch balls max out at 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight though there are a few exceptions that are rated higher. Another option is to go with an interchangeable ball set...
