I bought this kit and it was complete, I custom fit the lines to the trailer and the job looked factory.

by:

Installing the brake line kit was a bit of a challenge, but I was able to overcome the difficulties. The main issue was the lack of space to work in, which was due to the trailer's design. Once I was able to get the kit installed, it worked great.

by:

Product was used and works fine I had to cut 1/4 inch line to run it as I wanted to bothsides and teed it infront of drivers side to across to curbside for othere wheels which I ran a 3/16 line to each wheel. I had to buy extra fittings but all worked out brakes work as designed.

I had to upgrade my fifth wheel to a motorhome do to my wifes disability how ever every thing worked out just fine fo the short time I used it.

I recently ordered a complete hydraulic disc brake kit for my horse trailer, as I wanted to change out the worn out electric drum brakes with something better. I worked with Carla on getting all of the right parts to make this changeover. She was very helpful and made sure that I got all of the necessary parts on order. I received everything in one shipment and set out to install the brake kits on all four wheels.

I ran into a problem with the brake line kit that was supplied by HydraStar...they didn't include the brake lines and fittings for the second axle as was specified in my order, so I had to make a special run to my local auto parts house to get the lines and fitting at an additional cost. I placed a call to eTrailer to let them know what happened and they said that they would have a tech from HydraStar give me a call. NEVER GOT A CALL FROM THEM!!!!!! Anyway, the installation proceeded and all went smoothly after that. It took me two and a half days to do this entire installation myself and I am very happy with the results. I just got back from a 2000 mile trip with the trailer and everything worked perfectly. Thank you Carla and eTrailer for your help and providing good quality products.

by:

I changed out my electric drum brakes on my Montana fifth wheel with this hydraulic brake actuator and Kodiak discs rotor system . What a difference this new brake system has made. I can now lock down the trailer tires if needed and drive much more relaxed on the highway knowing I can stop on a dime.

by:

Nice upgrade from electric drum brakes to disc brakes. Clearance on calipers to my 16” steel trailer rims was tight. May upgrade to 17.5” rims in the future.

by:

PERFECT! Customer service. Personal, direct communication. Constant updates and alternative suggestions to parts I had not thought of. Follow up was great and all my parts arrived in great shape.
I’ll always be a fan of E TRAILER

by:

Have not installed items at this time, but service has been GREAT so far. Waiting for a few more parts.

working great

by:

Everything was very quick and arrived on time. Did get 2 damaged caliper fittings but customer service was awesome and is going to send me replacements. I would suggest that better packaging for the calipers.

by:

etrailer as always has what I need, ships fast, and product is "as advertised"!
A pleasure to talk to the tech's when I have questions and even go as far as calling manufacturer to verify equipment selections.
Keep up the GREAT work.

by:

Thanks for providing hard to find parts. You are my go to source for trailer parts!!

by:

Always great and timely service. Correct parts in a very quick turn around. I've been doing business with etrailer for years and have bought many items from them because of their great service and quick delivery. With all the incompetence these days, it's nice to deal with true professionals.

by:

brakes work great but the instalation wasn't the best calipers rub on the rim and nobody had any advise to get it to work. Even though it says that it fits a 16 inch rim but thay don't but I got it figured out no help from the compinies that make or sell the item. and when the packages showed up the boxes were all smashed up and the calipeers and brakes were all scratched so the e coating is worthless but there was nothing anyone could do. And one of the caliper bolts had fell out and i had to order a new one because they couldn't figure out how to send a bolt that fits. very disappointed

by:

Quality product. Measure properly as I got the kit that was too long.

by:

Works great with no problems whatsoever.

by:

Everything you need. I installed as part of whole new EOH system. Dream to install.

  • Disc Brakes for Sundowner Toy Hauler With Lippert Drum 2420801
Hi James; Lippert wasn't able to identify the hub off of that number so I'm not 100% sure what bearing combination you have. It does look like it is an 8k hub with a 12" x 2" drum which isn't common. Another customer reported # 25580 inner and # 02475 outer bearings with some uncertainty but that would line up with your standard 8k bearing combination. Assuming that is correct, you can use the # KOD82FR if you're looking for a hub/rotor. If you want to use slip-on rotors you will need...

Hey Adam, We can definitely get you set up to convert your 2011 Keystone Montana 346LBQ 5th wheel trailer from drum to disc brakes. You'll need a hub and rotor kit, so what you'll need is the following: - Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD66FR Since you're moving to disc, I assume you're going to an electric-over-hydraulic set up for your 5th wheel. We do have a kit with the rest of the needed parts for that if you need them, the Hydrastar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator w/ Line Kit for Disc Brakes...

  • Determining Correct Axle Upgrade For 2018 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer
I would be happy to make a recommendation for upgraded axles and suspension components for your 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK, but first I will need a few measurements from your current components. Starting with the axle you will need to measure your current axles from hub face to hub face and from spring center to spring center to determine the correct length the replacement axle would need to be. For example the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles - 89" Long - 5,200 lbs...

  • Converting from Electric to Hydraulic Disc Brakes on 2019 Big Tex Trailer With 12,000 Pound Axles
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R1058D11E is for 9,000-10,000 lb Dexter axles. Assuming you have a standard duty Dexter or Lippert 12,000 lb axle, the correct kit would be the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6.5 - Raw Finish - Leaf Spring - 12K - Dexter/Lippert # K2R1258L12. This kit fits an idler hub assembly like the # 8-214-8UC1. You will need to verify which axles you have in order to make sure this will work, it is not for use with 12K HD axles. In addition to the disc brake...

For example, the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R1058D11E is made for the Dexter 10K leaf spring axles. This goes with the # 008-430-03 hub which uses the # 387A (2.250" inner diameter) inner bearing and # 25580 (1.750" inner diameter) outer bearing. It also uses a 2.875" ID 3.88" OD oil seal. You will not be able to add any parts to your current axle to upgrade it to an 8,000 pound capacity. • Triple Axle Brake Line Kit that Uses 1/4 inch Main Feed Line
Having the slightly larger main feed line of 1/4 inch is a a great idea for plumbing up your triple axle trailer. We have the HydraStar kit part # HS496-153 which is designed for that. This kit uses 1/4 for the main feed line to the first tee fitting and then from there reduces to the smaller 3/16 inch size but this kit was designed for heavier trailers like yours so it will still work really well and you won't have any issues with brake performance. I would love to help you upgrade your suspension components! I am guessing that you have 3,500 lb axles on your trailer but if you could verify that it would help me to make sure that I recommend the correct parts for you. Also, are you looking to add brakes to both axles or just keep them on one pair? You would get more braking power and less wear with brakes on all of the axles but if you only want them on one then that will also play into the parts.

So the first thing you'll need is a marine grade actuator which we have with the part # HS381-9067, then you'll want the 3,500 lb disc brake components # DX35ER that you referenced and the tandem axle brake line kit part # HS496-252 and you'd have everything you need.

The inner bearing has a 1.750 inner diameter and the outer bearing has an inner diameter of 1.250 inches. There is a good way to get the check valve out of your current actuator and save some money.
