Had to send the first kit back because the flares were mostly junk. Second kit was much better. We used most of it, but the screws broke so we got others from Lowes. The clamps were plastic which I didn't care for so I got plastic coated metal ones from NAPA. The hoses and fittings were decent. And some of the fittings were not readily available. So all in all, I'd buy it again.

Still would buy again, but no availability for replacement parts is a bit frustrating. Have to go to Amazon for those.

This has plenty of extra tubing for my 30 foot triple axle trailer. I cut off the excess on all the lines and had the ends re flared. The brass and copper may have some corrosion issues if not managed when attaching to galvanized metal.

Installation was without issue and they are working like a champ!

  • Availability of Brake Line Kit for 3 Axle Hydro-Disc Trailer
I'd be happy to help you find the right brake lines to fix up your triple axle trailer. I've included a link to our brake line kits, but if you could find the fitting types you need and let me know that would help me find a kit or put one together for your trailer's needs.

  • Is There Advantage to Using Hard Brake Lines or Flexible Brake Lines on Trailer
There really isn't an advantage to using hard brake lines over flexible ones. It really comes down to whichever will be easier for you to install. I would recommend the flexible brake line kit part # HS496-252 as it will be easier to install. While they lines are flexible they do not bulge or expand from brake pressure. This brake line setup would work really well with the Hydrastar actuator # HBA16 you mentioned as well as the Kodiak disc brake conversion kit you are going with.

  • Recommended Brake Line Kit For Triple Axle Boat Trailer With Dexter BrakeRite II Disc Actuator
I recommend using either the 15' Main Line Kit # HS496-153 or 25' Main Line Kit # HS496-253 with the Dexter BrakeRite II # T4813102. These brake line kits use 1/4" steel main lines ensuring they do not flex and the brake pressure gets all the way to the calipers. You will need to select the correct kit based on the length of your main line needed from the placement of the actuator to the front axle.

  • Triple Axle Brake Line Kit for Use with Demco Surge Actuator part # DM8204311
Yes the triple axle brake line kit part # HS496-253 is the correct brake line kit for your trailer with the Demco actuator part # DM8204311.

  • Recommendation on Switching Vacuum Over Hydraulic Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Since the braking power is still hydraulic, you should have no issues converting from a vacuum over hydraulic system to an electric over hydraulic (EOH) system. The electric over hydraulic actuator will take the place of the vacuum that pressurized the existing brakes. Now, since you have disc brakes already installed on your trailer, I recommend the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi, # HBA16. The HydraStar actuator will allow you to apply the brakes...

  • Best Disc Brake Actuator for Triple Axle Drum Brakes
For just the actuator by itself the correct Hydrastar is the part # HS381-8066 that you referenced as it's pressure rating is correct for drum brakes and is rated for up to three brake axles. For a kit that includes the needed junction box, 7-way connector, a junction box for easy wiring and other various terminals for an easy install you'd instead want the part # HS381-9066 as all of that is included with this kit. Then for a triple axle brake line kit we have the Hydrastar kit part...

  • Is Larger Diameter Brake Line Required when Switching from Drum to Disc Trailer Brakes
You would only need to switch to a larger diameter brake line if the braking response was slow. You can go to a larger line if you wanted but it won't be necessary. We have 1/4 line kits such as # HS496-251 for single axle trailers, # HS496-252 for tandem axle trailers, or # HS496-253 for triple axle trailers.

  • Trailer Disc Brakes are Slow to Respond when Connected to a 2010 Dodge Ram w/Integrated Controller
Dodge says their integrated trailer brake controller is compatible with the electric over hydraulic brake systems, but we have found their compatibility to be hit and miss at best. There are a few things that can cause slow response in the trailer brakes. First make sure everything is wired correctly and that there are no weak or bad grounds. Grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. Make sure there is no corrosion in the vehicle and trailer side connectors.Wiring...

  • How To Determine A Correct Disc Brake Actuator For A 40 Trailer
The longest brake line kit we offer is theHydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-253 which is 25' long, and uses a 3/16" main line. In order to determine the correct replacement disc brake actuator , you'll need to know the GVWR of your trailer, the size of hitch ball it will need to accept, and how it needs to mount. For instance, the Titan Zinc-Plated Actuator w/ Electric Lockout # T4750820 has a maximum weight capacity of 12,500-lbs, will accept a 2-5/16" hitch ball, and will bolt...

  • Disc Brake and Actuator Kit Recommendation for 2016 Grand Design Momentum 397th
Your trailer has 7k Lippert axles on it so the disc brake kit you would need is the three sets of # K2HR712D for the disc/rotor and caliper kits. This won't be super cheap but it will give you the best option for converting to disc. For an electric over hydraulic actuator kit you then would want the part # HS381-9067 which will give you everything needed except for brake lines. For that you then would want the part # HS496-253.

  • Hydraulic Brake Actuator and Brake Lines for Drum Brakes to Homemade Trailer
The Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T4079200 can supply brakes to a triple axle trailer and Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit # K71-360-00 will work as a suspension kit for 1-3/4" wide, double eye springs on triple axle trailers. Actuator # T4079200 will work so long as the GVWR of your trailer is no more than 8,000 lbs as that is what it is rated for. The brake line kit that can work for you is the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Triple Axle # HS496-253 which measures 24 feet long. I...

  • Disc Brake Kit Needed for a 2015 Cyclone 4200 with Triple Dexter Axles
I reached out to my contact at Dexter Axle who gave me the spindle information for your specific axle. The compatible disc brake kit that I recommend going with is part # K2HR712D from Kodiak. My contact did mention that this axle originally came with electric brakes so you will need a brake line kit as well since it sounds like you already have an actuator. I have linked our available brake line kits. All you have to do is filter through the selection for the best fit for your trailer...

  • Choosing Between Electric Or Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes on Grand Design Solitude 375RE 5th Wheel
Mechanically speaking, electric brakes are simpler. They're easier to troubleshoot. They're quite a bike less expensive than hydraulic disc brakes. Disc brakes provide more efficient braking. If all in all, you're happy enough with the way your current electric brakes perform (other than the fact they don't currently self adjust) I'd probably stick with electric. In order to recommend the correct Nev-R-Adjust electric brake assemblies, I'd need to know the capacity of each of your axles,...

  • Parts Needed to Convert Triple Axle Trailer with Drum Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic
You'd need a set of 10k rated hydraulic drum brakes like the part # 23-404-405 per axle and then also a kit with the EOH actuator and electronics like the Hydrastar # HS381-9066 and the brake line kit # HS496-253 and you'd have everything you need to convert your trailer with three 10k rated axles with drum brakes to electric over hydraulic drum brakes.

You wouldn't need a triple axle brake line kit, # HS496-253, because the Titan Disc Brake Kit # T4843800 already comes with 2/3 of what you need. So you would need a single axle kit # DM5424 or # DM5425.

This disc brake kit is for spring axles only (which just means it will not fit torsion axles), and is the following: - Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat Finish - Leaf Spring - 10,000 lb Dexter # K2R1058D11E These are over-the-hub rotors with cast iron calipers for exceptional...

I suggest the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR89DE. They have an E-coat finish which will help reduce corrosion from the elements.
