Question:
Hello, my name is Cory Martin. I have a client that would like to convert his Lone star, Nation wide goose neck trailer to disc brakes. It currently has 16 wheels and 8 lug 10K axles. Could you please give me a list of all the parts I would need to do this conversion. The trailer currently has electric drum brakes, and the tow rig has a factory trailer brake controller that his f450 2011? came with. He would like to convert both axles.

Hey Cory, thanks for reaching out. We do have disc brake kits that may work for this trailer, but I will need you to verify some info in order to ensure you get the right parts.
For example, the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R1058D11E is made for the Dexter 10K leaf spring axles. This goes with the # 008-430-03 hub which uses the # 387A (2.250" inner diameter) inner bearing and # 25580 (1.750" inner diameter) outer bearing. It also uses a 2.875" ID 3.88" OD oil seal. Please confirm that these bearing sizes match the current axle.
You will also need to add an electric over hydraulic actuator to the trailer, and for that I recommend the Hydrastar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness - 1,600 psi # HS381-9067 which comes with everything you need to convert the electric brake system over to EOH. You will also need an appropriately sized brake line kit like the Hydrastar # HS496-252 which comes with a 25' main line. Please verify this will be correct for the trailer.
I have linked an article below that goes over the process of adding disc brakes to a trailer. Read it over and let me know what you think. If you can confirm your bearing and seal sizes for me I can confirm fitment for the hubs.
