When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This front brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty brake pads with heat-managing rotors for strong initial bite and predictable braking through repeated stops.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
Fresh brake components often need a break-in period before they reach their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your brake components stay in better condition between services while continuing to provide the smooth braking performance they were designed to deliver.
Replacing brakes is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren front wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now, this kit has been designed to fit your 2012 to 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500s, then the 2014 to 2018 Silverado and Sierra 1500s with the two-piston calipers, then finally, your 2019 Silverado and Sierra 1500s, the LD/Limited, again with the two-piston calipers. On custom-fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer and put the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you. And our fit guide will confirm that this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, upgrading the suspension on your truck will definitely improve the ride quality.
It's going to help reduce the sag that you might be experiencing beforehand when you're towing or hauling heavier loads. And it's going to make your truck feel more stable while you're towing and hauling as well. But it does not reduce the extra workload that are placed on your factory brakes. So if you've felt like your truck takes longer to stop when you're towing that heavy trailer or your brakes are wearing out faster than you expected, or that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES brake up grade kit is going to come into play. This kit is designed to give your truck a stronger, more consistent braking experience when it's carrying heavier loads.
These low-metallic OnyxBite brake pads are going to give you a strong initial bite to eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. So you're going to notice a more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip. On the other side here, we have these multi-layer rubber shims that are going to help stabilize the brake pads. And you're not going to have to worry about vibration because those shims are going to reduce that. On your screen, got a few photos there for you.
That first one just shows the detail of that multi-layered construction on the shim. And then, it shows you a little bit more in detail the construction of the brake pad as well. So these shims are going to help keep brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing that brake performance. These pads are positive molded and paired with these precision balance rotors. These are going to promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal field.
Now, these rotors are OEM-style vented rotors. That's going to help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing. And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors. And they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins and outer edges. As you know, heat is the enemy of brakes. So this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 67% better than the standard Geomet coating that's most commonly used on OEM parts. But the coating's also going to help protect them from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between services without affecting brake performance. The pads themselves also feature a bed end coating, indicated by the blue stripes on the pads. That's going to transfer to the rotor to protect it during the first stops. So you're going to be able to get that consistent braking performance sooner after the installation. Speaking of installation, it's going to be pretty straightforward. You're going to get everything that you see here on my table before me. And if you're not real excited about doing the installation yourself, that's okay because on this product page, underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. So if you've already upgraded the suspension on your truck and you've got that smoother, more controlled ride, this kit is going to compliment that by giving you that braking power that you need for towing those larger, heavier trailers or hauling those heavier loads. It's going to work together with your suspension upgrade to give you an overall more comfortable, more stable and a more safe towing experience. That's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
