Great kit. All the parts fit with a little overlap for some tighter fittings. No spills, no drips, no mess after running the boat and trailer over 1000 miles, braking hard when necessary, if some careless motorist tries to cut in before a tight turn or exit.
Did not have to add any extra brake fluid, once it was installed and purged.

  • Parts Needed To Install Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brakes On a 2021 Grand Design Imagine XLS 21BHE
The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR3500S06 is our only 3,500LB axle option for your 2021 Grand Design Imagine 21BHE XLS travel trailer. Otherwise you will have to order a custom axle as the only axles we have which have the same 86.5" hub face measurement as your current axles are 5,200LB and larger. The Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD59FR will include new hub/rotors with all the bearings and grease seals for one axle along with the caliper and mounting brackets. It does include...

  • Parts Needed To Convert 12K Dexter Trailer Axles From Electric Drum To Disc Brakes
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R1258L12 will allow you to convert one of your 12K Dexter axles from drum to disc brakes. This kit will mount to your Dexter Hub 008-214-09 once removing the drum section and brake assemblies. You will need 2 kits as your trailer has tandem axles. Be sure to check your bearings and races and replace as needed. You will want to install 4 new oil Seals # 10-56 as they often become damaged during the removal and installation process. Inner Bearing # 3984 Inner...

  • Are The Steel Brake Lines For Hydraulic Drum Brakes Safe To Use When Converting To Disc Brakes?
As long as the steel lines are in good condition, then yes you will be able to reuse that portion of the brake lines on your trailer. You will want to look at a kit like the Hydrastar # HS381-9067 as it will come with the actuator, a 7-way connection and junction box to terminate the wiring and a breakaway kit since you will have electric actuated brakes. We do have the Brake Line Kit # HS496-152 if you decide you want all new brake lines otherwise you should only need 4 of the Hoses...

  • Disc Brake Kit with 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern for 7,000 Pound Axle
Since you have 6 lugs it's very possible you have 6,000 pound axles. But either way you can upgrade to an 8 lug for 7,000 pound axles. You'll need to replace the bearings, races, and seals to match the new sized hubs. The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR712E with Bearing Kit # BK3-200 will work great on your trailer. These have an e-coat finish to help prevent corrosion from the elements. If you don't already have disc brakes you're also going to need an electric over hydraulic actuator...

  • Converting From Electric to Electric over Hydraulic Disc Brakes on Two 7,200 lb Dexter Torflex Axles
Thanks for the info and we have all the parts you are going to need to convert from electric to electric-over-hydraulic disk brakes, which is the best braking system you can have for a trailer (most stopping power combined with the best overall control). A Dexter Torflex 7,200 lb torsion axle uses inner bearing # 25580, outer bearing # 02475 and grease seal # GS-2250DL. That info, along with the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, is all we need to know to get you the right set up, and I'll recommend...

  • Parts Needed to Convert Trailer With Tandem 15k Axles to Electric Over Hydraulic From Electric
We can get you set up with an electric over hydraulic system for your trailer with 15,000 lb tandem axles. I will say that you will not want to go with the higher pressure 1,6000 psi actuator, which is too high for drum brakes and can potentially blow out the wheel cylinder. What you can do though is go with a 1,200 psi actuator made for drum brakes, which will still give you excellent stopping power. Here is exactly what you will need for your set up: - HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic...

While we don't have a go to kit we can build one using parts that are available. First is the HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HS381-8067. If you are building from scratch we have the HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness # HS381-9067 to include the wiring and battery components. The HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator with Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness # HS381-9065 features the actuator, breakaway system and 7-way connector. The only other piece you'd need is the brake lines; for a single axle you would want the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-151 and for a double axle you would want # HS496-152. We have a wide variety of brake line kits that may work on your 1989/1990 EZ Loader Boat Trailer but the correct kit will be dependent on the length of your specific trailer. For example if your trailer is around 15' we have the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-152 which includes new main line to run from the surge brake actuator on the trailer to the back of the trailer, and four separate lines to run to each braking assembly. • Troubleshooting HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Drum Brakes
I was unable to find an order number for you so I don't know the exact set up you used to install the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Drum Brakes - 1,000 psi # HBA-10, but the issue doesn't seem to be the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. I contacted Lippert with the serial number from you axle and based off what they told me the the correct brake kit is the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR712D which is for 7,000 lb axles and has an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern for your wheels. • Advantage of Converting to Electric-Over-Hydraulic Disc Brakes from Electric Brakes
Disc brakes have better stopping power than electric brakes. They're also lower maintenance because they have fewer moving parts. You'll also gain power going to electric over hydraulic because you have the advantage of the stopping power of hydraulic brakes combined with the reaction time of electric brakes. I've linked an article that explains the parts needed to convert to disc brakes. You'll already have some of them like the brake controller and breakaway kit. But electric brakes...

A great disc brake kit for your trailer is the Kodiak # K2HR526D. This includes two brake assemblies with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. They include the mounting bolts as welll. Since your trailer has hub and drum assemblies now you need to replace them with rotors. If your trailer is a tandem axle the brake line kit I suggest is the HydraStar # HS496-152. If it isn't a tandem axle or you need a different length I've linked our selection of other HydraStar kits. For an actuator the HydraStar...

  • Brake Lines for Boat Trailer In Salt Water
Hi David; I honestly wouldn't choose steel brake lines for a salt water application, even if they were stainless. A better option would be the Hydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-152 or # HS496-252 with copper-nickel alloy. This has proven to be more reliable than steel and has better corrosion resistance since it doesn't rely on a coating that will eventually wear off. The inner bearing has a 1.750 inner diameter and the outer bearing has an inner diameter of 1.250 inches.
