Thinking about making the switch to disc brakes, always a great idea!
We definitely have the parts to make the switch. Unfortunately, I don’t have a database showing what components are installed on each camper (I wish one existed, it would make my job a whole lot easier!).
With that said, based on my research, it looks like you should have (2) 5,200 lb axles (you’ll want to double-check your axle tag). Here’s a list of what you’ll need:
- (4) Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 5,200-lb Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 # 008-213-9B
(You’ll want to double-check your bearing numbers: inner 25580 1.750" inner diameter, and outer LM67048 1.25" inner diameter. These are for a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern.)
- (2) Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 12" Rotor - 6 on 5-1/2 - Dacromet and KodaGuard - 5,200 to 6,000 lbs # K2R526DKG
- (1) Hydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle - 25' Long, 3/16" Main Line # HS496-252
- (1) Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # HBA16
When you check your bearing numbers and axle capacity, if it’s different from what I found in my research, please let me know. I also attached a picture showing where to measure the spindle for the right bearings if you prefer to do it that way rather than dig those greasy things out. You also want to make sure that you have a brake controller with the electric over hydraulic setting.
I promise if you make the switch, you won’t be disappointed! So what are you thinking, you going to make the switch?

Hi kate thank you for all the information. My axle tags say 5145 lbs on them. I not sure if my wife will let me spend that much money right now on changing the brakes as much as I would love too but we are not full time and we only use it about 8-10 times a year. I watch a lot of full time rvers on YouTube that are sponsored by etrailer and I saw wildrvlife get there disc brakes from etrailer so I was just wondering. I have purchased stuff on etrailer and I would just like to say that you guys are amazing to work with. Thank you for all the information if I can talk my wife into it I definitely will go through etrailer. Thank you Charles “Butch” Hyer
