Firestone Air Command II Compressor & Air Tank Installation - 2008 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 were going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Firestone Air Command II. This is a heavy duty compressor and air tank offering dual function and a maximum psi rating of 150 lbs. The part number is F2168. Our gauge is going to allow us to keep monitor and check our pressures. As you can see we can bring these right down to our minimum operating range or then also because we have that tank you can see we can fill individually and you can really see how quickly it really engages. Most of the time wed be sitting here for quite a while trying to get up to what were at now about 40 psi but with that 120 psi in that tank it really helps to take care of that. A great thing is for off center load were going to have full adjustability of that.

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2008 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2008 GMC Sierra 2500, we're going to be showing you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs using the double convoluted design for the rear axle. Part number is F-2-2-5-5-0. All right. Now, we'll head out to the test course. As you can see, before our suspension enhancement, we've got a lot of side to side or what they call body roll. This is causing the weight transfer to the outside of our corner, pulling up the inside of our vehicle.

Air Lift Air Helper Springs Installation - 2001 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, we'll be installing the Air Lift Load Lifter 5000 Air Helper Springs, part number AL57275. Now here's what our vehicle looked like with the manufacturer's suspension and no weight added to the rear of the vehicle. We'll go ahead and take a measurement from the bottom of the wheel well down to the ground. As you can see, we're at 41 inches. Next we're going to go ahead and add approximately 2,700 pounds of weight to the rear of the vehicle. Now with our weight added, you can see it's lowered the rider height from 41 inches to 37 1/2. Next we're going to go ahead and run the vehicle through our test course.

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2003 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD Extended Cab, we're going to be installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs for the rear of the vehicle, part number F2250. Now with our stock suspension setup and no airbags installed, we're going to go ahead and take a couple measurements. We're going to measure from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well. Looks like we have 41 inches. With no weight in the bed of the truck, in the stock suspension we have 41 inches of height. Now, let's go ahead and install our water tank into the bed of the truck. Now that we've added our water tank to the bed of the vehicle, we've added a little over 1500 pounds to the bed of vehicle. Now, we are at about 38-1/2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well.

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2011 GMC Sierra

Today in this 2011 GMC Sierra Extended Cab were going to install part #F2528 from Firestone. The Firestone ride rite air helper springs. Before we install our air helper springs well take some measurements that will show how the springs help the suspension after theyre installed and weight is added. Well take the measurement from top of the wheel well to the ground first without any weight added. In this case it came out to about 42 inches. Next well add about 2,000 pounds in the bed and take our new measurement.

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2013 GMC Sierra

Today in our 2013 GMC Sierra, well be installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, part number F2528. First, were going to go ahead and add approximately 2,000 pounds weight to the manufacturer suspension setup. Then well go ahead and go through our test scores. Now, with the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs installed and aired up, well go ahead and put in our 2,000 pounds, run it back through our test course. Now, well go ahead and begin our install. First up of our install is removing the old or manufacturers jounce bumpers. To get the jounce bumper out of the cup, well simply use a flat blade screwdriver and slide it in between the jounce bumper and cup and pry it out of its position. Well set the jounce bumper aside and will not reinstalled. Keep in mind, each process we do here on the driver side, were going to repeat identically on the passenger side with one exception well be adding a heat shield on the passenger side to prevent excessive heat from exhaust getting to the airbag. Now, were ready to go ahead and start assembling the airbag.

Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs Installation - 2013 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2013 GMC Sierra, well be installing the Air Lift Vehicle Suspension System, part number AL57338. This will be the rear airbag setup for our vehicle. To begin our install, well first need to remove a few of the manufacturers components, starting with the jounce bumper. To remove the jounce bumper, well just take a flat blade screwdriver, get in between the jounce bumper cup and the jounce bumper itself, and pry it out of the cup. Next, on both sides, well remove the bolt that secures the rear brake line to the back of the jounce bump stop. Also here on the drivers side, well need to remove the bolt and bracket that secures the parking brake cable. Well remove the bolt from the frame and then remove the bracket off the cable, and we will relocate it once we complete installing the airbag.

Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs Installation - 2011 GMC Sierra

Today on this 2011 GMC Sierra, we're going to install part number AL57338 from Air Lift. First thing we're going to do is lift the vehicle up so that we can take the load up some suspension to give us more working room, then we'll go ahead and remove the jounce bumpers from the very bottom. All we have to do is just pry them out. Next, we'll go ahead and remove the bracket for the brake lines that are located on the axle. At the end of the install, this bracket will be reinstalled. Also, there's a bolt in front of the axle for parking brake.

Firestone Level Command II Installation - 2011 GMC Sierra

Today on this 2011 GMC 3500, we're going to install the Firestone Air Accessory Kit, part number F2219. Our first step is going to be mounting the gauges for our accessory kit. The customer has chosen to mount the gauges in the glove box. First, what I did is made a custom bracket so they will seat deep enough in the glove box and still be able to close the door. What I need to do is go ahead and open the door all the way, releasing the safety latch here. I'll be using my gauges as a template to draw out so we can cut out the back of the glove box to create a depth that we need to mount our gauges.

GMC Sierra Vehicle Suspension Questions and Answers

  • How To Remove the Air Line From the Air Lift Union T-Piece Part # AL21838
  • Keeping the airbags at the 5 psi minimum while not in use will allow the bags to retain their shape properly and not end up folded over or in any other position that might cause a portion of the bag to wear out prematurely. I am curious as to how you are measuring the amount of air in the airbags. I would also like to see a photo of the airbags installed and inflated to 5 psi while on your truck. If you can provide me with this information I may be able to provide further advice.

  • Compatibility of SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer With Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs
  • I looked up your account to determine that the SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit - OEM Leaf Springs Above Axle # SSA5MTKT is not the style of SuperSprings mounted in the jounce spring location. You can install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2430 with those SuperSprings in place as they don't connect at the same location and will not interfere with each other. The Firestone air springs will help to level out your truck...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2013 GMC Sierra 3500 with B and W Hitch Installed
  • I have a solution for you, but the B and W Hitch you have installed in your 2013 GMC Sierra part # BWRVK3500-5W would interfere with the # AL88338 as they both use the same area of the vehicle frame for installation. Instead I would recommend the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Enhancement part # SSA13. This will give you additional suspension support when you need it, won't interfere with your hitch, and will actually help your truck handle better.

  • Is Suspension Enhancement Needed for Front and Rear Axles of 2013 GMC Sierra for 5th Wheel Towing
  • You are likely not going to need any suspension enhancement at the front of your 2013 GMC Sierra because the 5th wheel trailer will push down on the bed causing the front to come up a little. The Timbren springs you ordered, # TGMRCK15S, will prevent the sag from being a problem. I would try it first without any suspension enhancement in the front. If you find that you do need something then you can add the front Timbren springs, # TGMFK15CA.

We have seen this issue before on similar GMC trucks and if you don't trim the block down the suspension is going to feel incredibly rough. If you trim about an inch off and match the angle of the block to the spring it will work like it is supposed to.

Suspension enhancement like air bags or Timbren springs # TGMRCK25D, are meant to be used on a stock suspension that is in good working order. • SumoSpring Helper Springs for a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4
  • For the SumoSprings # SSR-209-40 for your 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 the springs will reach their 1,000 pound capacity at 50 percent compression. That means that there could still be some squat until the spring compress enough to stop it. But at the same time you are using weight distribution which will also work to prevent sag. So when all is said and done the 1,000 springs should do the trick.

  • The Timbren suspension enhancement springs, # TGMFK15A are not designed to lift the truck but they will prevent it from sagging when the plow is attached essentially achieving the same goal as lifting would.
